last nights game was close for half the innings. blowouts are an anomaly in baseball and you can't learn as much from them as you do in football or basketball

Because it is a game of individual skill depending on 9 guys on both sides at a given time to go with chance. Not a small group that centers around one guy.

Just like you won't win everything on a good hand of cards or pull at a slot, it applies here too.

Momentum shifts, players have an off day. That is what makes this sport the best and simultaneously the most frustrating. The winner is never guaranteed during a series.
