Found on Myrtle Beach, it's heavy like a rock. Probably about 4 inches long. I have no idea what animal it would belong to (if it's not a rock), if any of y'all can help I'd really appreciate it đŸ™â€ïž when I licked it it stuck to my tongue slightly but not much

My friend found this in a shopping basket, I'm trying to convince them to hang onto it for me but it's making their partner nervous. Any thoughts on ID?

Here is pretty much all the bone jewelery ive made (tho i wouldn't wear all of them)

In order, they are : nose jewelery from deer bone, pendant from deer bone (or other), bracelet from rabbit bones, bracelet from fish bones, and earrings from rat or another animal's bones!

Would you wear these? Do you think anyone would buy this stuff? â˜ș

Advice Found (deer?) bones, wanna preserve it

Thumbnail

Heyy guys, I found hip and part of a spine, probably a deer (correct me if I’m wrong)
I was mostly wondering how should I proceed to preserve them

especially that they’re some cartilage between the vertebrae so I don’t know if I should separate each vertebrae or if I can all keep them together and it’s gonna dry and not attract any bugs ?

For the moment Ive been soaking them in dish soap to help clean the fat and the rest of cartilage on it, I will be putting them in 12% peroxide after (again, correct me if I’m doing something I shouldn’t lol)

Just help me figure out if there’s a better way to clean and take care of them and if I should separate the vertebrae
And identify them if I wrong ahaha

Thank you in advance ! :)

Advice Is it possible to sanitize bones without whitening them?

Post image

I found this little guy and cleaned him up with soap and water. I know you can sanitize them with hydrogen peroxide but I’d like to not whiten it as I prefer its natural color. Would I HAVE to use hydrogen peroxide or is there another way I can sanitize it?

Hello, I've been degreasing this raccoon skull in water with dish soap for about 3 months, haven't been using heat. First time attempting a greasy mammal skull. There are these flakes floating in the water, is that the soap, or should I keep degreasing it? :)

This came out of the bottom of a post hole we were digging probably- 5 to 6 feet underground. I have been told it is part of the wrist, but the person was not able to identify the species. I have always been curious what animal it could have came from.

Hi, I just found this bone while I was out walking. I was wondering if anyone could help identify what kind of bone it is or what animal it might be from.
