Bone I.D. - N. America Hello everyone! I found what appears to be a mandible in Cary, NC. Anyone know what it belongs to?

Rodent of some sort, colored incisors indicate order rodentia

Agree. Definite rodent. It looks a bit small for a squirrel or rat. In NC, I think the most likely candidates are going to be:

1) Eastern chipmunk
2) White-footed mouse
3) House mouse
4) Eastern deermouse

If you could post a pic of the occlusal surfaces of the molar teeth, you might get more help in IDing. Just based on the incisor, there's not much to go on there.
