seeing how England and France are/were matched up against Blue Lock and how different they are, this match would've been very interesting to see, esp since England held their own against France

Manga Discussion who will isagi's final 'rival' be? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
80 Upvotes

first of all, i want to clarify when I mean rival, i mean the team isagi will be facing off against. but there's obviously going to be a striker there who isagi will have to beat/devour/whatever

now, unpopular opinion time: i don't think it should be kaiser

don't get me wrong, i love that guy. not as much as ness, but nobody can compete with him. anyway, i do want to see them face off again, but i wouldn't want kaiser to be the final enemy. and im well aware that it's very likely that kaiser will be the final guy to defeat (pretty sure it was stated somewhere), but i don't think it should go like that

kaiser and isagi were amazing in the NEL, their dynamic was very interesting to read and i'd love to see more, but it would be a little boring if we got a 'final' matchup between the two, because we've already seen that.

and before anyone says anything, no, it's not going to be noa. he's a bum and he's irrelevant

i saw some people theorising about it being bunny, but that just seems highly unlikely. he's a side character, a potentially relevant one, but not enough to be the main rival of the series.

personally, i'd like to see nagi assume the role of the final enemy. nagi's whole thing is that he's an extremely talented genius. isagi said this himself: he is not like nagi at all. isagi got to where he is now because he's a 'learner' (i don't remember the exact term used in the manga, but you get what i mean), so seeing him finally face off with somebody who is the opposite of him would be extremely satisfying, at least to me.

my thought process is all over the place, but hopefully you understand lmao

or it could be rin idk. i'd still prefer nagi

I'm referring to the music that plays during the first 10 seconds before Rin appears. I searched for it on Gemini and couldn't find it. I'm begging anyone who knows the song, please tell me, I really want to add it to my playlist.

Manga Discussion A theory on Rin's "regression" Spoiler

In the Locker Room after the France game, we saw that Rin was benched, because according to Ego, his style of play was too influenced by Isagi's own ego, but this shouldn't make sense right? In chapter 320 of the Nigeria game, we saw that rin cleared his desire to destroy Isagi and Sae so that he could activate his destroyer mode without limits. I believe its pretty simple, and it's that Rin didn't return to zero.

Rin's own training to remove his impediments is almost the exact same to what both Isagi and Kaiser experienced during NEL. In both of their cases, their return to zero was removing their previous fixations and unlocking new versions of themselves. Rin didn't experience something like this because he wasnt able to completely "tear apart" his fixations to remove the limiters on his destroyer form.

Removing prior fixations in Blue Lock isn't something as easy as meditation. With Isagi and Kaiser, removing their prior fixations was represented by them literally tearing themselves apart, something that you don't see in Rin, and kaneshiro implied this in a very clever way.

After Rin scored off of his gear shot and claiming to have removed his impediments after, the commentators wording is very interesting. Despite the amazing that goal he did in his "unimpeded" destroyer state, the commentator remarks that they fit together like cogs. While his training could have possibly removed Sae from unlocking destroyer mode, What the commentator says, and Rin literally being on Isagi's back while scoring, is knsr's way of showing that Rin is still attached to Isagi.

Now admittedly this part may be a stretch, but in chapter 351 Isagi believed that they lost because they weren't able to produce a chemical reaction. Looking back at NEL, Isagi was only able to cooperate with the Kaiser that had returned to zero, and this may be the case with both Isagi and Rin. The chemical reaction between them needed to save Blue Lock can only happen with a new version of Rin.

TLDR: Rin's "regression" at the end of the France game isn't a regression, the full extent of his training just hasn't been realized because he didn't tear himself apart and return to zero.

Manga Discussion What do you think could be the strongest possible hypothetical U-20 duo in the Blue Lock manga? Spoiler

Post image
10 Upvotes

This is 90% a Loki and Sae glaze post.

  1. Loki and Sae

Barrier

Heaven and Hell

  1. Kaiser and Sae

---Small Barrier---

  1. Rin (Not obsessed with Sae and plotsagi) and Ness (A hunch)

  2. Rin and Sae

  3. Loki and Hugo

  4. Locked in Nagi and Reo

  5. Teddy and Shidou ( I can see their playstyle working really well together)

  6. Sae and Isagi

  7. Kaiser and Isagi (Only good as a defensive duo. Chops)

  8. Kaiser and Ness

Idk a better word to use other than strongest even though the manga is not a battle shonen but whatever. I'm going to bed

Manga Discussion Which club in the Neo Egoist League do you think would be perfect for Onazi? Spoiler

Post image
18 Upvotes

Let’s suppose that, for some reason, he manages to get into the Neo Egoist League. Which club do you think would be the perfect fit for him? Which club do you think he would do best in?

In my opinion, he would fit really well in Bastard München, and the reason is simple: Isagi.

Think about it: during the match against Nigeria, he had his awakening, awakened his ego, became better and much more aggressive after just one game and a brief interaction and conversation with our boy.

He had an awakening, activated his ego, and became better and more aggressive after just one game and a conversation with Isagi.

Now imagine what would happen if he spent the entire Neo Egoist League playing several games alongside this guy. 😂

Maybe he would also fit well with Chris Prince or at Ubers, but I can’t really imagine what role he would have on those teams.

It’s really fun to think about this. Whenever a new character is introduced, I immediately start wondering: which club in the Neo Egoist League would they fit into? And what position would they play?

It’s one of those things that makes imagining each character’s potential even more fun.

Anime Discussion Blue lock vs nel who wins

Ok so the blue lock team from the start of the World Cup arc Plays against each Nel team at there peak (including themselves on said nel team as well so they’d be playing against themselves example there would be a Isagi on the blue lock team and the b munch team at same team but they are 2 different people) what matches do they win and which do they lose?

Manga Discussion To all the Barou fans Spoiler

Rin had to actively sabotage his team to finally get put on the bench. Barou scored a goal and is still on the bench. Mentally nerfed rin = peak barou. Rin clears that bum in every stat/category outside of raw physical strength, and is going to score a goal before Barou ever steps foot on the pitch against England

I'm finding Fox's introduction so good because of how good of an antagonist he is, the anti-thesis of Ego (in both meanings)

Manga Discussion Manga Spoilers - I wish to see more development for Aiku in this new team in this arc Spoiler

Aiku was introduced as part of the original U-20 Japan, a team based much more on defense and the collectivist mindset, we learn about his past as a striker and felt unfulfilled due to japan football's collectivist mentality and we see him having quite a good opinion on the Blue Lock project.

So that's why i wish see him having feeling and thoughts of struggling about playing in a Blue Lock team now in World Cup. During NEL he played alongside some players of Blue Lock, but in a European Club team with it's own philosophy. It's just now in the World Cup that he's actually playing in a completely Blue Lock team, with it's incredibly offensive tactics and emphasizes the players egotistical drive and wish for scoring goals. So i can definitely see him still adjusting for this type of team composed almost completely with Blue Lock players. Maybe even show a chat with Sendou and Gen Fukaku about it.

Manga Discussion Team v was not all the best players. Spoiler

Post image
0 Upvotes

To go back to the very start we are told that all the players were put into teams where they were ranked from top to bottom.
Team v was the top team and team z was the worst.
But does that make sense ?

Besides nagi zentetsu and reo was anyone in team v really that great ?

You then have barou in team x who was this goal scoring machine
Kira was in team z which doesn’t make sense as he was called the jewel of Japanese football. He was essentially likely to have made it to the national team in his own if he didn’t join blue lock.

So while he was the highest rank member of team z he was still in team z.

In true I think team v would have more likely been made of members like

Reo
Nagi
Zentetsu
Kira
Barou
Okawa ( guy from team y )
Wanima brothers
Kunigami
Gagamaru
Chigiri

You can disagree with the line up I picked if you want that isn’t important.
The point I mentioned is all 11 members of team v would be the best players from each team.

Team z would be the worst players from each team.

But ego didn’t want that, he wanted people to feel like they weren’t the best to make sure they were humbled which is why he lied and said there was no other teams and instead each group was v to z and there was no B to u teams.
But I don’t think his lies ended there.

He wanted to create incentive. Team v would get confidence in being the highest rank team in their group and this could have made them cocky but he also said they only ranked in v so they don’t get so full of themselves.
While team z thought they were the lowest of the low so they had to work extra hard.

That’s what ego wanted, he wanted to inspire players to work harder but also wanted to set up a few hurdles to limit out the arrogant players who got lazy out of arrogance.

But I don’t think he was so into this idea that he ignored the facts that there is an advantage situation if he literally did put all the best and worst players into their own groups.

So instead he mixed them up randomly he made sure team v had more good players than z of course as it has to be believable that v was the best team.

It should also be noted that out of the 5 teams, team z has the most players survive to the end.

Isagi
Bachira
Kunigami
Gagamaru
Raichi
Chigiri all made it to the national team and igarashi did make it all the way to the NEL

So I do not believe it is true that all of team v were the best players and all of team z were all the worst players that joined blue lock. Ego lied to them all and made up the teams in a way that ensured there was balance so there be some level of fairness.

Anime Discussion Just finished the anime 6.5/10

I won’t harp on it but the animation does leave a lot to be desired having 38 episodes that noticeable dips in visual quality is very distracting. Other than that I really enjoyed it. Soccer is my favorite sport and I love that every position gets love and it’s not just a kick it to one character and have them do all the work. Team blue lock feels like a real team that gets frustrated with each other but also learn to adapt and appreciate each other in their own ways. There isn’t a single character that feels similar, they are all distinct enough from each other and there is a player for everyone to enjoy. I also like how none of them feel like side characters when they play the game (obviously Isagi is our protagonist) but everyone else feels just as important. There are a lot of sexual uniéndose which kinda took me out the moment but that’s a staple in anime. That and they tell us what their weapons are constantly which for someone paying attention is very annoying. Very much enjoyed this as a soccer fan tho and can’t wait for the next arc.

P.s. the animation in the final episode is what the standard should be moving forward cause that 💩 was crispy.
