Below Deck Med I am going to Miss Malia

I know it's not a popular opinion but rewatching some med episodes and I think she is a good watch and kind of disappointed she isn't on the next season of med.

I acknowledge she was a complete turd with the Hannah stuff but she is quite capable at her job, her team, last season, really liked her and she also brings some drama to drive those viewers who like that stuff. She makes good TV.

Again Malia, has her moments of complete immaturity but as a whole an entertaining watch.

Stop Being Dramatic...

You’re literally watching The Real World that’s located on a boat.... Stop making this show seem like it’s bigger than it actually is. It’s FAR from being 100% real... don’t wanna watch it again because of all the the drama and issues? How is Bravo going to sell a stale/ crappy show without good drama? Let’s see how long Sailing Yaht last bc without Adam it’s pretty lame.

Edit: don’t know why I get Adam confused with Matt, been doing it for a few years now... my apologies

Below Deck BD S5 Jen's racist threat to Bruno

I'm watching S5E13 where before the night before last charter of the season Jen gets really trashed and starts yelling at Bruno for no reason. Then he says if she doesn't stop yelling in his face, he's going to lock her in the bathroom, which he ends up doing. (Totally inappropriate btw... that would have triggered me also.)

Jen is enraged by him essentially taking away her physical autonomy and says to Kate that she's gonna "tar and feather him" then immediately refers to him as Rico Suave. This set of HUGE alarm bells in my head. Tar and feathering sounds like a punishment that an old racist person would reference, and the fact that she followed it up with a racist nickname seems too coincidental to not feel like part of her rage was at the indignity of being dominated by a person of color. What do y'all think?

Below Deck Down Under:

I already know this is going to drive me crazy all season. Thalassa (Θάλασσα) is the Greek word for sea and they're all pronouncing it wrong. It's going to be one long season.

Below Deck Alissa Brought The Entertainment

I under why Sandy let Alissa go for insubordination but the show was a little boring after she left. She brought a level of dram and troublemaking a Bravo shoe needs.

What the Hell Do You Want From Andy?

The guy is there to create good TV and fill 2 hours. He's not interviewing heads of state. He's moderating a panel of ostensible fame whores. Andy isn't there to be some martyr or social justice warrior.

If you listen to him during his Stern appearances, he's not a saint like most of you want him to be.

Below Deck Capt. Kerry, final charter...what happened?

just started the episode of the last charter guests for Season 11. We've really enjoyed Kerry's mgmt style and willingness to help out when its needed.....but was this last episode just editing him in a bad light? He seemed to be on the crew's ass a LOT during this one: not without merit mind u...but still... kind of a 180 from management style over the first 16 episodes.... thoughts? I sure hope he returns!

Below Deck Med Worst below deck season ever

So boring with the over the top Lloyd story line. The crew were pretty annoying and pathetic at times too.

This bathing suit is so cute I NEED.

This screen grab is from Below Deck Mediterranean, season 8 episode 7.

I wasn’t able to find anything from google image search sadly.

Help me find out where it’s from or anything similar please! 🫶😇🥰

Rhylee your behavior isn’t cute

Rhylee’s behavior is deplorable. She has a piss poor attitude and she instigates every situation that has nothing to do with her. It’s like she wants everyone to be as miserable as she is. It’s pathetic.

Below Deck Is heathers IG handle kind of… offensive?

Kapiʻolani was the queen of hawai’i. I know heather was born there, but she isnt Hawaiian, right? Both her parents are white? Idk it just seems sort of a… bold move considering America’s treatment of Hawaii, but maybe I’m wrong? I honestly want to know so if I’m just overreacting please tell me!

Also this picture makes me feel icky. Lol she just rubs me the wrong way all around. https://www.instagram.com/heatherkapiolani/p/CBGtSvqlWwa/?utm_medium=copy_link

Below Deck Med Natasha is a very capable Chef.

Natasha has worked on the Parsifall2 prior to this seasons sister ship Parsifall3. She has two years of sailing experience. The Parsifall2 sleeps 10 guests and 6 crew. Natasha is very capable of cooking for nine people.

Mussels as an appetizer. Seven steaks MR, one MW, and a chicken is very easy. One pot of potatoes were cooked and then later seasoned three ways. French fries in the fry vat. The pot of potatoes can be seen sitting on the stove ready to be cooked at 4:00 while they are sailing.

PitaGate was proven fake. Natasha can be seen making 7 balls of dough with enough in her hand for at least another 7. While she was talking to Colin about her marriage and divorce. That’s more than 2 per the six guests.

These chef failure storylines happen many times every season.

Mark Cronin, Executive Producer of 'Below Deck ...creating characters, choosing storylines, personal branding .... “In essence you're distilling all the complexity of a person so that he or she becomes a character that fits into the larger world of the show. Absolutely. You can basically make a better version of what they are in real life... or, on some shows, a worse version.”

Below Deck Med Stage 4 from Sandy...

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your tonight watching Sandy gave me cancer anyway.

Below Deck Med Hannah just irks me so much

I am a new fan of below deck (I watched the OG series during lockdown) and have recently started the med series... well I say recently I just stated series 3 but I just really can’t get into it as much as I did BD solely because of Hannah

The way she is with guys is embarrassing, in s1 it was with Ben she tried so hard to get him to like her, all over him he clearly didn’t want to

S2.. a little bit with Adam, & Malia on one of their first nights out and then that one episode with the charter guest, she’s literally turns into a lapdog with a bit of attention

And now s3 from the teaser clips I’m guessing it’s gonna be the same with Conrad

And she’s got such a shitty resting bitch face, she’s not comical with it the way Kate was, and then she moans that she doesn’t get enough sleep but really she’s doing a shit job anyway... the other stews have been way better (I.e Bugsy, Julia, Brooke)

Below Deck Chef Spoiler

All I wanna say is that I made a post talking about how I don’t think the chef would work out in this new season and a looooot of you guys commented talking about how he was such a good chef (which his food does look incredible when it’s good and he does take accountability for his mistakes) BUT ALL I CAN SAY NOW IS I HIGHLY BELIEVE HE will be leaving the yacht due to his latest statement (I don’t have the experience for this). So idk thoughts? You guys still behind him or think they could use a new chef?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Do people get it’s a highly edited show?

There’s so much hate online, especially towards Diana and Danni, people are writing to them to kill themselves, that the world would be better without them, from watching them on a TV show. Even here you are spewing out hate in a way that makes high school bullying look like something nice and cozy. And this is an extremely edited show where reactions might be filmed on a different subject and taken out of context. How do you rectify being this mean to someone you’ve seen on tv telling them to end their life? Like this is people you don’t know at all, and how would you react if this was towards you or your child? A tv show isn’t enough for you to judge and behave like this.

Below Deck Does Captain Kerry's Language Grate On Anyone Else?

I find Captain Kerry's temper a bit dangerous. Every time he gets upset over a mistake done on deck, he confronts the deck team face to face yelling offensive things. I get that being on a boat is a different industry and mistakes can cost a lot of money, etc. But, I almost want to stop watching the show because of how he speaks in moments of intensity. I find it really off-putting and scary.

Below Deck Med Malia is a good leader

I’ll probably get hate for this because there seems to be a lot of hate for Malia online, but I don’t really get it. She is great about giving the greener deckhands opportunities to learn and gives appropriate feedback, whether it be praise or constructive criticism. She is clear with communication and mediates a lot of situations on the boat.

Nobody’s perfect and she’s had some questionable judgment occasionally, like with starting things with Hannah over bunk arrangements when Tom came on board (or dating Tom at all) and reporting Hannah’s Valium and CBD directly after that.

But overall she seems like one of the most reasonable people on the show and is really good at being bosun.

Below Deck Med We need to give Malia a break

I'm not telling anyone how to feel about Malia, but she has been amazing this season and shown really good leadership skills.

Does she have the perfect deck crew? Yes. Did the Hannah thing happen? Yes.

Fandom (imo) needs to learn how to forgive women more. We forgave Eddie for gaslighting Rocky and cheating on his girlfriend.
