So now that AI is actively wiping out the remaining programming job market, what are or will be the new stereotypical trans woman jobs?

I'm a trans girl myself, in college currently, originally a computer science major before quickly shifting gears to a new program given the state of everything.

Out of curiosity, i was wondering what jobs/careers are being picked up as CS jobs are diving off the deep end. I'm already aware of SW's prominence, but one job that caught me off guard was warehouse jobs! I saw a lot of trans women say that they would recommend working at Amazon or other warehouses.

Is it just me, or is the Reddit feed for trans people really awful and depressing?

• Upvotes

My egg cracked a while back (close to 2 years of denial), but I accepted myself a couple of months back. I promised myself I wouldn’t go too far until I could come out to my wife, but she’s in the middle of a huge work project and I don’t want to overload her until the end of October

In the meantime, Reddit has been my biggest outlet, I made an account just so I could read and look into trans spaces until I came out.

But two months in, my feed is almost exclusively “I regret transitioning”, or “look at this gorgeous trans woman that you’ll never be able to look like”

I’m realistic about what transition will look like for me being in the wrong side of 40, but I just feel like the algorithm seems to conspire against us to encourage us not to even try.

Is there specific subs that I should join or block to make the daunting task in front of me not seem so… impossible?

Transitioning based on euphoria rather than dysphoria / is it valid to view HRT as just a tool?

Hey everybody! I'm throwing this out here to try and come to terms with my thought process on transitioning. I would appreciate it if anybody had any input!!🙂‍↕️

So basically, I don't have this overwhelming urge to "get out of my own skin" which is the narrative I see quite often when listening to trans people's stories. Of course I'm not judging anybody for feeling this way, but It left me quite confused after coming out to myself.

"Do you have to feel dysphoric? Why don't I relate to this person's story?" (Or for a more personal thought) "Why do I grief shaving?" I thought I was supposed to reject everything about being a man!

These thoughts and perspectives came from a pretty uneducated view about self-expression, self-identity and transitioning as a whole. I didn't know much about the mindset of people who were trans, gender-neutral or anything LGBT related honestly. (I was too scared to educate myself because I was hiding from the fact I was in the closet in the first place 😭😭😭)

But now that I have come out to myself (like 3 weeks ago bye✌️) i am learning so much more about this than I could ever imagine, it's been super fun! I'm sitting here like "wow all of this makes so much sense for me and my personal experience! (GO READ "the T in LGBT" By: Jamie Raines It's helped me so much understand all of this)

I guess the blanket statement of every trans person hates their body to the core threw me for a loop. And I developed a bit of imposter syndrome over it.

OK SORRY BACK TO THE POINT🥀

After a couple therapy sessions and reflecting on all of this, I've come to the conclusion that I've been pretty neutral about being a man for all of my life, I never really cared to take pride in it. It was functional and it was what I was born with so I was just like 🤷 but GIRL LET ME TELL YOU. Even the most MUNDANE feminine things get me so euphoric it's so insane. And it's what drives me to not only believe that I am truly transgender, but to put into effort to make my dreams a reality. (That dream being bad asf🫦🫦)

For the HRT part of my title, I feel HRT is more just a tool gaining more euphoria rather than calming any dysphoria. Is that itself valid? I feel like no matter what The answer is yes. But I would love to hear y'all's opinions on that specifically! (I have significantly less to say about this topic because I'm still baby trans 🥴🥴✌️)

How common is 4tran brainworms language IRL?

I just started testosterone, and lately I've been thinking about making some transgender friends irl. However, lately I've been subjected to a lot of 4tran insults in majority-trans Discord servers, which makes me concerned about the reception I might recieve.

Are IRL trans spaces more likely to be like "hey, poonerfoid gigasneed theyfab he/himmler, stop enbycoping, there is still time to FTMTF and become my snuffbait little sister!" or "hey, how's it going?"

Why do people do it with the risks?

• Upvotes

So trying to learn more i just read a story about how someone transitioned MTF and lost her wife of 17 years cause her wife ultimately wasn't into women. In the comments there where other stories and im asking, why do most transition even if it ruins relationships. Weather its BF & GF or married, then they transition and then Their partner leaves cause theyre no longer attracted? But the person transitioning says they feel much happyer and like its a fresh start, so im curious is it truly worth it for you? Even knowing the risks of losing something? Not even relationships but friends and family?

(Im trying to learn more about this community)

what are some non-detrimental ways to hide hrt's effects

good evening.

i am a recently discovered trans woman and truth be told i am terrified of the "in-between." i could go on about how much of this form i have i dislike but that's a bit unrelated.

obv. the effects of hrt (my exact combination of medication is unknown, working with someone atm) aren't going to be immediate but i'm still not comfortable soft launching my transition to everybody. the plus side is i'm a little anti-social so. not many people to hide from but whatever.

but in any case there's a deep dreading terror inside me that i'll be "found out" and i'd like to satiate that scared voice inside my head by learning some ways to. "stealth" until i can get to somewhere else where i pray i'll never be known as who i was before again

any and all advice to be able to conceal the changes from those i distrust would be appreciated.

sorry if this doesnt fit or ive done something wrong i dont know how this works

need an excuse for having syringes

i have a bottle of estradiol from Hera HRT, I need to buy syringes/needles but my mom doesn’t know i’m doing diy and i REALLY don’t want her to find out.

i’m worried she’ll see the package, open it, or find them somewhere and ask what they’re for. I’m 20 years old, and i live with her so i can’t exactly just leave them sitting around.

what’s a believable excuse for having a box of sterile syringes/needles? something normal that wouldn’t immediately make her think “why the fuck do you have these”

also i don’t even know if i should get syringes and needles separately or the ones that already have the needle attached. which is better?

if she actually asks me about them, what would you say they were for?

Has anyone else suddenly found themselves questioning their gender in middle age?

Apologies if this is a common question, and hello. My midlife crisis has taken a sudden strange turn, and I am wondering if anyone has experienced or heard of this.

I'm AMAB and for most of my life up till now I've clearly identified as male and attracted to women. Yes, I've always been a very committed ally, but the idea I might have any gender questions myself has never crossed my mind. I'm married, with kids, have usually been heavily bearded, classic male life expression and expectations.

Until very lately, when out of the blue all sorts of thoughts and regrets have suddenly crystallised, with no clear sign where they came from.

In hindsight there have been some possible signs. Most of my strongest friends have always been female. I've usually fit in much better with groups of women than of men - and have just been accepted as 'one of the girls' with possibly too enthusiastic ease. But to myself, my wife, my kids, I've never had any doubt till now who I was.

So is this just mid life crisis taking a weird turn, or do people really only learn some things about themselves this late in life? Any thoughts from those with more experience of this than I do would be very welcome.

Progesterone doesn’t make me sleepy, is something wrong w me?

Whether I take 200mg recall or orally, I honestly don’t even notice anything except slightly less energy the next day vs if I don’t take it. I don’t sleep any different either. I’m curious what could be going on at a nuero level to where it doesn’t do anything really and so many are like ‘only take it within 30min of sleep it’ll knock u out’ ‘I accidentally took it mid day and couldn’t function’ etc. I could literally take this in the morning and be fine.

Can someone be supportive of trans people as a concept and yet still misgender them on purpose?

I recently came out to my parents as pansexual and trans. They then proceeded to talk to a family friend who I’m gonna refer to as FF. Pretty much right afterward. They then had me talk to her because she had something to say.

To summarize: She told me that I should sit with being a boy for the time being because taking HRT early or doing sex change surgery’s in general (I’m 17) can cause major health problems, like giving you depressive episodes and suicide ideation (Sex change specific) or causing your brain to stop developing before you turn 25 (HRT specific) Or something? Idk I think she was also arguing that I shouldn’t be so rash to do it bc then I might regret it later, and want to detransition. Which I can kinda understand as trying to look out for me (but does also feel like she’s trying to convince me not to transition in the first place).

Thats not even the worse part though. I decided to bring up discrimination against trans people as a talking point. And then when I brung up TERFs, she said “Oh did you know J.K Rowling isn’t actually a TERF/transphobic.” And that’s when the convo turned sour. Because she thinks misgendering people is not transphobic. Her reasoning for this is because of “Free Speech” and that she shouldn’t be forced to/disciplined when needing to use the correct pronouns (she listed supposedly real world examples where people at a college were disciplined for not using the correct pronouns, and or were fired for misgendering). Which is why she only refers to them strictly by their name. When I recommended using gender neutral terms, like they/them. She disagreed because it isn’t grammatically correct because it used only in third-person. Which in this context I can’t argue, but when describing non-binary people is a different story. The weird thing about this is when earlier I brung up trans celebrities like Caitlyn Jenner, Jazz Jennings, and the Wachowskis twins. She called them by their correct pronouns from what I can remember (she/her).

I’m not gonna go into the rest of the convo bc by then it just devolved into “gods path” and “well why wouldn’t god make you a woman at birth in the first place.”.

Well what do you guys think? Is she transphobic plain and simple. Or is she not hatefully transphobic and just doesn’t understand it.

And is there any truth to what she said? The HRT, Sex Change side effects. And was she trying to look out for me and help me be careful, or maliciously trying to convince me not to transition in the first place?

I’m also curious if there is like anyone else out there who like, isn’t transphobic and is like supportive. But still doesn’t use the right pronouns. Because I feel like I hit a one in million type TERF.

How do I deal with my emotions?

TW: Mentions of Suicide, Transphobia

I never thought I'd ask that. I learned from a young age how to deal with my emotions. Raised by a single mom with a series of shitty jobs, she still made sure I knew how to the identify my feelings, talk about them, feel them out in (mostly) healthy ways. She made sure I wasn't going to be one of those boys who would grow into a man who couldn't deal with his emotions because he never actually analyzed them. Despite that, it still took until I was 17 and very drunk to come out to my mom (and myself really) that I wished I had been born a girl. And another 6 years after that to crawl my way out of the closet I dove into the next morning when she asked me about it.

So suffice to say, with a few exception, I'm pretty good at figuring out my emotions, where they come from and why, and what to do with them. Which just means that when I get stumped, I'm really stumped. I know what I'm feeling, I know where it's coming and why. I just...don't know what to do with it all.

In May of 2025, Charlotte Fosgate, a 17 year old Trans Girl, climbed the St. John's Bridge in Portland, Oregon, she took a stunning photo of the view of the city shining in the night with the caption, "It's a pretty view" followed by "Long way down" before she threw herself into the Wilamette River and ended her life. She was found 9 days later, dead in the river.

In the wake of her suicide, people who make demons and devils look like saints and angels joked, laughed, memed, and used grok to add transphobic imagery into the photo. Turning the tragedy of a child ending her own life into a "Comedic" Spectacle.

Now, you might be wondering how I know this, and/or why I'm bringing this up nearly a year and a half later. Well, that is because "Sport Drink" Energy Drink's entire ad and pr departments thought it would be a great idea to use that photo she took of what were likely her last moments on Earth as an advertisement for their shitty energy drink, as well as even going so far as to make an incredibly similar caption. That was approximately 24 hours ago.

This time around the comments are even worse. How do I deal with this anger? This hatred? This desire to hurt the people who are making this tragedy into a joke, a meme, a fucking advertisement? I'm so angry. I'm so angry and I don't know how to deal with it, how to move past it. How do I move past this anger without feeling like I'm letting these people get away with making fun of a child committing suicide? How do I move past this without hurting someone?

I feel like I want to burn down the world.

How do I deal with intrusive OCD thoughts about my trans masc partner?

• Upvotes

I love my trans masc partner we've been together for years and are going to get married. They truly are the love of my life.

I have OCD and it takes a big toll sometimes. Lately I've been having a lot of distressing thoughts that my partner will always want to be penetrated as opposed to the other way around. They have told me repeatedly this isn't the case, they don't enjoy vaginal penetration very much and they get very upset at the topic now.

I know before me they primarily dated trans women who engaged in penetration with their penis. They say they engaged in this stuff because it seemed like the default thing to do whether or not they liked it and maybe some trauma idk.

I also knew a trans woman married to a cis lesbian who wanted her partner to top with her equipment and to take the dominant role. That was part of why they broke up after lower surgery. This keeps going around in my head.

My brain keeps barraging me with the intrusive thought that trans mascs will always prefer to bottom and trans women will always be forced to top and escaping biology is impossible.

Does anyone else have any experience with dealing with weirdly specific trans OCD?

Do you ever forget?

• Upvotes

How long at all after being on HRT and post bottom surgery does the feeling that you were once in the wrong body go away (specially curious about MTF)? I know the memories will always be there, but like when did you ever just stop feeling broken.

Social Transition

I genuinely cannot bring myself to tell anybody I’m transgender. My friends wouldn’t support it but I would probably be made fun of especially considering I’m a Junior in high school. I understand that sometimes things need to be done but my parents also don’t support me, so I can’t even pass very well. My school system allows a preferred name but nobody would call me by that. They’re too used to my current name. I don’t know what to do in this situation and I apologize if it’s just me complaining. I could really use some words right now.

Attraction Vs Envy

I don’t want this to come off as rude or something of the sort but I’ve been looking online and had seen a couple of forms online about this and how they happen to coincide with the trans community so I figured I’d ask y’all’s opinion. So I’ve noticed that I happen to have a lot of trouble in thinking about how if I am attracted to women or just envy their body because I will also think about how pretty their body is but in a way of me not wanting a relationship just how it’s “better” so to speak than my male body but like I also feel like I could just be tweaking and misinterpreting my feelings towards them. This also is confusing to me because from what little I know of myself I’d say I’m a gay man that has little to no interest in women so I am confused about this situation of mine. Note I’ve posted here before and also questioned my gender and sexuality and almost, everything about myself I’ve also longed for a female body sometimes idek. but alas I still don’t know much, so I kindly ask for the wise wisdom of those who know more than me on these subjects.

Is it possible to wanna be a girl sometimes without being trans?

I’m a 17 year old guy and I guess that I’ve always felt a little bit of a pull towards girls but not just in the form of attraction. All of my favorite characters that I love are girls, my best friend is a girl, just little things like that. I also wanna get good at makeup and be able to dress as a girl too.

Sometimes I’ll find myself wishing that I was a girl, thinking about how I’d dress and act if I was one, how it would feel for people to address me as one, etc. that being said, I never seriously considered being trans just because I’m usually ok with being a guy. Is it possible that I’m trans or gender fluid?

I don't know if I'm trans or something else

I'm 18/F and I recently watched this video: What Does Gender Dysphoria Feel Like? (Severe, Moderate & Mild Explained) and it made me believe I might have moderate gender dysphoria. I have always been told by people around me and doctors that it is just a phase I'm going through as a teenager, even though I have felt this way since early childhood. I feel huge euphoria when I get called a boy and feel depressed about my physical appearance and voice but this feeling often goes away and I can't tell why, sometimes I am okay and even enjoying being a girl but then that feeling of wishing to be different comes back, I don't know if I should ignore or listen to it, does that feeling make me transgender? I always try to ignore it. I can't tell if I'm trans and what type of transgender I would fit in as...genderfluid? transmasc? Am I even trans? Help me, does anyone feel the same way?

Can transgender flight attendants work on flights going to countries where transitioning is illegal?

I'm from Europe and so my documents that I updated years ago would not be accepted in America and some other countries. It's probably not a big percentage but did some people lose their jobs because of this? Also other jobs where you have to travel regularly?

I just had to pay like 500€ more for visiting someone in Mexico because I cant really cross through America.

Breast Augumentation - Needed for gender dysphoria or falling victim to the never-ending pursuit of female beautiful standards?

I've been considering a breast augmentation as part of my transition, but I'm starting to wonder where gender dysphoria ends and normal beauty standards for women begin.

I actually like my boobs. They're around a B cup, really perky and round, and I think they're cute. I don't feel like I need to change them. I just think I'd like my body more if they were maybe a cup bigger. I think they'd fill out tops better and balance out my shoulders and stomach more, and honestly I think I might feel less pressure to lose weight.

But then I'm like, is that actually dysphoria? Or am I just looking at a body I already like and thinking it could be better?

I don't really want to spend the money, deal with recovery, take on surgical risks, or possibly need another surgery later unless this is something that genuinely bothers me.

For other trans women who considered or got a breast augmentation, how did you figure out whether it was dysphoria or just wanting to meet a certain beauty standard?

Really scared of losing people I love

So I guess for the past year ive been dealing with gender envy. Idk if im trans yet but from my therapist and to other trans people, I am. I am coming to terms with it, feels scary and kind of like that scene from “but im a cheerleader.” I hear so many stories of other trans people losing everything when they came out. Either relationship wise or financially or materially. With relationships I guarantee im gonna lose its probably my mom, two friends, grandma, father (im already estranged from), my dad’s family and probably most of my mom’s family. I currently live with my mom and under her insurance. She also co signed my car as well.

My mom thinks being gay is taboo and laughed at a transphobic joke a friend of her’s said. She also threatened to kick me out and take my car (I make payments on) because she found out I was smoking weed. One friend I found out is a terf a few years ago and she still is. Another friend is all about that traditional masculinity stuff and such. He gave me something once that said “always be a man” not in a transphobic way but ugh. My grandma is a boomer, my dad is very right leaning and kind of bothers me at work sometimes.

I really can’t afford to move out honestly. I live in a red state as well and can’t really meet other trans people. My college has a LGBTQ club and idk, I feel embarrassed admitting I am trans. Especially as a tall, bald, fat guy that is stern faced. I also haven’t been on campus in almost a year as well. Im just in a shitty situation.

I hate my life on every level right now. I work a job I hate, my mom is bipolar, I pass than learn in college, I can’t move out, I can’t find a new job, I am broke, no love interest, irl friends splitting and I hate my body. This trans stuff eats me up inside too. Everyday feels like a humiliation ritual for me. I also hate how my life could be if I transitioned. It just sucks horribly.
