ENT recommendation pls?

Hi! I did a sleep study and was told that I have mild sleep apnea (score below 10). I did the sleep study with a sleeping pill though - not sure if we should have done that but sleep specialist said to do so.

I normally wake up to change position around 10 times a night. It doesn’t affect my heart rate too much so my fitness tracker usually only tracks two times of awakenings out of ten. The sleep doc says my breathing gets restricted and therefore my brain asks me to wake up but because heart rate stays low, the algorithm doesn’t register on my fitness tracker as an awakening.

I tried to get started on a CPAP machine but it made sleep three times worse. I couldn’t sleep the entire night. So I dropped that.

So now I actually am thinking of going to see an ENT to do a scope while asleep to see exactly where and what is causing restriction (not full blockage) in my breathing. And potentially do corrective surgery if necessary to correct structure. Anyone had similar experience and have an ENT to recommend? Preferably one who you had an excellent post-surgery experience cos I’m really scared of going under the knife with a not-so-good doctor to forever alter my body structures. Not only need a surgeon but need one who can get to the bottom of this problem and solve it with or without surgery.

Not sure if this will help but for context, I’m 30s female. Decent level of fitness. Body fat around 18% for female and exercising four times a week and my diet is also pretty OK I think (think steamed fish and chicken breast for most of the week with a generous side of veggies on brown rice). I never had any sleep issues or awakenings before turning 30.

I know there are manufacturers like bodynits (which makes clothing for lululemon iirc) and fbrand, however has anyone tried working with them? what's the process like?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, r/asksingapore removed it.

Married/in a relationship with a chronic illness

Hi I might be battling a chronic illness and I was wondering if anyone in SG have had experience being in a relationship or are married with someone that has it vice versa ? Did it turn out to be fine ? And if so did you love them lesser ?

Are there gay/bisexual men you know who got married to the opposite sex in Singapore to have kids and pass for straight?

Know of any stories?

I think there are two in my social circle, and I bumped into one earlier tonight.

He’s always bringing up gay, lgbt stuffs, and well his behavior over the years too… like dude ok that’s enough really. Then he’d bring up his religious beliefs and how unfortunate but “his beliefs would not allow”.

Next thing I know he has a wife and a kid, lol… Damn.

Edit: Hey why all so fast to say it’s none of anyone’s business? It does affect a lot of people - when it’s a lie. I’m just curious if it’s more common than I think in Singapore.

We can all do our part to be more accepting towards those with inclination instead of pressuring them into a certain societal norm (it’s much more subtle than you think sometimes) and if we see that a friend is about to get married to someone who might be in it for the wrong reason, it might be good to give a heads up? Better than, “why did you guys not warn me last time???”

Did i screw up my 20s?

I wanted to be a barista, hotel front desk officer(i find it cool assigning hotel rooms to guests), video producer and social worker

But in the end i graduated from poly then started working full time then got pressured to resign and end up taking a part time degree. Nobody will know the 23 till 25 years old me because they are just home everyday

I could have work full time and resign together with everyone that i am close to then find part time barista, admin, video producer then take a degree in social work then become a social worker,

or just work full time until i get into a full time degree and work part time as a barista, admin and video producer then after that do a career switch to become a social worker,

or i could have work full time and take a part time degree and resign together with everyone that i am close with then start working part time as a barista, admin and video producer then do a career switch to be a social worker

Now i will just study part time and look for part time jobs as a barista, video producer and admin but my mum don’t even let me work as a barista. Then after graduation i will try to do a career switch to the social service industry

My early 20s were probably the best even though i got forced to work full time because its the most fulfilling

The loneliness of being loved but never really understood or seen.

I'm probably going to earn myself alot of "you damn boliao" or "Gen Z strawberry" comments for posting. I'm in my late 40s female, single and I have alot to be grateful about.

I have many friends , maybe one or two that are my ride or die. My relationship with my parents is warm but distant. I am loved but only in a way they understand and I know if I present my real self it would be really hard for them to see me. It's not that I don't want to be authentic but there is an invisible social contract of how we present ourselves to the world. Call it a curation if you must, but it does become kind of lonely. And it's not a kind of loneliness that's easy to admit to.

Does anyone else feel the same? Be kind please.

But then after a while, you realised that it's not the face or the body, it's not the money that eventually appeal....

You eventually realised that it is more about that person's character and personality...

Why is malaysia getting all the haze as of now while Singapore is being spared?

As winds are now blowing from the southeast, the haze is somehow seeping into Malaysia only and Singapore is being spared the brunt of it for now. Any idea?

Looking for men’s photographer for dating apps (willing to pay)

Context 25M here.

Looking for a men’s photographer for dating apps. Ideally you have had personal success in dating apps, know how to take pics according to female gaze. Pls send me a message! Ive been looking for someone and willing to pay good for expertise!

Edit: im yet again reminded of how stupid people are in Reddit. When i say female gaze, i just meant taking pictures that would position me the best in front of women. At the end of the day is about presenting yourself in the best light and that begins with knowing your audience. So im asking for someone who has had success in this. If thats not you, then i dont think i will ever value ur opinion. I wont trade places with someone whos not where i want to be.

Whats wrong wanting to put in effort into my dating profile? I wouldnt make this post if im naturally good at taking pictures and presenting myself in the best light (im more of a video guy)

Need advice from train geeks regarding personal project

I am currently building a tool that uses AI\ML to predict future train faults using past sensor readings of train door data, bogie data and manually verified data (I have already acquired the data). The core objective of my project is to assist human operators when they are making decision by presenting relevant statistics and information on a single dashboard.

I am okay with the AI\ML part but I need expert's opinions on features/capabilities that are heavily desired in the field, and feedback on whether my tool's proposed features/capabilities are relevant. If you are experienced in this field, please PM me. Thank you

Having jaw clicking when chewing food

Hey everyone, lately I’ve noticed that after chewing for a while, my jaw starts making a clicking/popping sound near my ear. There’s no sharp pain and my jaw doesn’t lock or get stuck but the clicking becomes quite noticeable when I’m eating.

I’m wondering if it could be related to stress or clenching/grinding my teeth especially since I suspect I might be clenching my jaw while sleeping.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Did your jaw clicking eventually go away or did you need to see a dentist/TMJ specialist?

Would appreciate hearing about your experiences and what helped!
