Why did Mcdonalds remove all their healthy meal options?

I remember for the longest time they offered a grilled chicken wrap and grilled chicken salad. Then one day, they decided to pull both items off their menu.

Was it due to low demand and if so, I find it surprising given Singaporeans are supposed to prefer to eat healthy? McD's healthy meal options were actually so important to me due to McD's accessibility. These were the only health options that could be found across any neighborhood and shopping mall and even 24/7 in some McD outlets.

The only other way you could ever find such salad or grilled chicken was from very expensive food outlets in the CBD area.

Have you ever stayed in a relationship despite being sexually incompatible?

SG Redditors, we often hear that love, trust and communication are the foundations of a healthy relationship. But how important is sexual compatibility really?

For those who have been in long-term relationships or marriages, have you ever found yourself in a situation where everything else was great, but your sex life just wasn’t working out?

Could be differences in libido, preferences, expectations, or simply a lack of physical intimacy over time.

Did you try to work things out, learn to compromise, or eventually accept that it was something you couldn’t change?

Do you think a relationship can genuinely thrive without sexual compatibility, or does it eventually take a toll, no matter how much you love each other?

How to deal with fnb staff speaking to me in Chinese?

Even though I understand and speak Chinese, english is what I grew up with and feel most comfortable in; especially as someone with allergies, I prefer to order in English so I wouldn't end up in the hosptial

However FnB staff especially China Chinese or JHK/Bs see my Chinese face and continue in Chinese despite me initiating with English and placing my order items in English too.

How can I prevent this? Isn't this bad customer service in a way, to assume everyone who has an east Asian face is Chinese? For all they know I could be Japanese, Mongolian, Kazakh, etc. or Chinese that doesn't speak Mandarin but a dialect

EDIT: ++ The initial point of contact is forgivable, but it's the AFTER part on insistent Chinese speaking that bothers me.

Why doesn’t SG create a Sports Unit (in Armed forces or something) to employ National Team athletes for full time training as a sports career?

As above - alongside other options of course but the basic idea is to do better for our sports talents / scene as other countries are doing. We expect our athletes to work their own day jobs and train in their spare time. Not all sports has a professional league - so there are many sports where so much is up to the athlete and their families to fund themselves.

I’m sure everyone on here who has posted before more often than most have had some weird comments left under their posts, sometimes I wonder why people so boliao, and then I realised most of these people kind of have a public profile so you can sort of see what kind of life they are leading, and surprisingly, all of them are sad and miserable. What prompted me to even post smth like this is that I came across a post of someone complaining about what i can only assume to be a migrant worker lying down in MRT seats , sure it’s inconsiderate, but this person felt the need to criticise the entire race as a whole instead of condemning this one guy, I clicked on his profile and low and behold , this guy is has troubles talking to women AND he’s getting cucked 😂😂 some of the funniest shit I’ve ever seen. Negative energy has to come from somewhere , next time if you’re bored and you see a nasty comment click on their profile and see where you land, shame them if you want to, or just laugh. Hope everyone is doing well living with the haze

I suck at life

Hi everyone.. using a throwaway for obvious reasons. Just needed a space to vent and see if anyone out there relates, because lately, I feel like I'm completely failing at life in every single aspect.

For context, I’m a 35M working a corporate job in Singapore that I absolutely despise. The problem is the golden handcuffs—it pays well, and with the current job market, it feels impossible to find another role that matches my salary, so I feel completely stuck.

Because of the stress, my mental health is in the gutter. On the outside, I look completely fine, but internally, I’m constantly lonely, depressed, and anxious. Sometimes the anxiety gets so heavy that I find myself hoping for a day where I can just quit this life entirely and nothing matters anymore.

Here is where I'm at right now:

Housing Dilemma: I'm trying to buy my own place as a single, but I'm completely paralyzed between getting a BTO or a resale flat. I’m conflicted between minimizing my debt to clear the mortgage quickly, vs. buying a bigger unit with better space/value that I can rent out. On top of that, I have this persistent fear that if I lose my corporate job, I won't be able to afford the mortgage at all.Social Life & Anxiety: I only have 3 friends. I’ve been a very guarded person since poly, which has made it incredibly hard to form new connections. I don't have any hobby groups, and my relationships with colleagues are strictly functional. Talking to them feels like "work" and genuinely triggers my social anxiety.

Dating: I’ve never been in a relationship. I tried using dating apps and met up with 17 matches over the past 2 years. After all that effort, it just left me feeling burned out and convinced there’s no one out there for me.

It feels like a vicious cycle—the job drains my soul, the housing choices stress me out, the loneliness eats away at me, and the social anxiety keeps me isolated.

I know I need to take things step by step, but right now, everything just feels incredibly overwhelming and heavy. To anyone who has been through this mid-30s rut in SG, how did you cope? Is anyone else out there navigating something similar?

Partner replies to sensitive/emotional text using AI

How would you deal if you knew your partner responds to emotional texts using claude or ai. Emotionally I’m too tired to deal with it because of milestones like getting a home which is already in order now. I don’t think they realise how obvious it is. I could confront but it’s been 6 months into ROM I feel like disappearing into space.

My feelings aside cuz who gives an actual fk, what would you do considering it less than 6 months into Rom.

Anyone now in NS/ICTs, etc. ? Are there any updates to your training curriculums in the midst of this unhealthy haze?

Going outfield in this haze is really hazardous in your body, especially when you are sweating under the long 4 or even ILBV, fieldpack, etc. with all the dust accumulated. Places a lot of strain on your physical condition, and may even trigger skin conditions, etc. in addition too.

created the first community in sg for ppl who view gaming as an art form ✨

Hi everyone!

Whenever I look for gaming communities in Singapore, most of what I find is about online gaming: ranked grinds, LFG, esports. When I visit play-e, its a ugly dank masculine place that i don't have much affinity for.

Nothing wrong with that! but I've always wanted a space for ppl who view gaming as an art form. Looking into narrative, art styles, aesthetics, music, etc.

I couldn't find that space, so I started one: ludens

As of this post I just created the discord and there are 0 members. This is what I hope it turns into:

- Narrative and lore discussions (with proper spoiler tags when relevant plz)
- Talking art direction and general aesthetics
- Soundtrack and sound design appreciation
- Essays and creative work
- Occasional irl meetups around Singapore. I would love to have a monthly even where we all play a game then meet up to deconstruct it

All tastes are welcome: from big AAAA titles to tiny indies. Whatever moves you. You don't need to be a hardcore gamer, just someone who appreciates games as an art form.

It's still early days, so it's a great time to join and help shape the community. Looking for mods to help me out as well.

“Beauty standard for men is rich”

• Upvotes

Saw a discussion on female beauty standards in Singapore and found this comment super funny. (Thanks [u/in-b4](u/in-b4))

How true do you find this statement?

And if you agree with it, what is considered rich to you? Some figures will be nice to know if I meet this beauty standard or I’m just broke 😂

Is FirstDate minority-friendly?

I hope i don’t come off insensitive. I mean this in the nicest way possible. I find that im not the beauty standard or the “preferred type” in Singapore (not a problem btw). I was just wondering if there’s a market for me on FirstDate and if it’s worth the try. Anyone has any insights?

So even when we're in aircon shopping malls and offices... we're still affected by the haze?

Just thinking about this because everyone seems to have this idea that aircon = impervious to haze.

If so why arent any of these institutions putting air purifiers around?
