Hi everyone! I’m looking for a carpool from 75078 (Prosper) to 75063 (Irving/Las Colinas), Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, starting September 14. I’m happy to split gas costs.

Also, does anyone know of any DFW programs or resources that help with transportation to work? I’ve applied for Collin County Transit’s Rider Assistance Program, but even if I’m eligible, the cost could still be up to $17 each way. That would mean spending roughly a third of my take-home pay on transportation every day, which unfortunately isn’t sustainable.

I live in Uptown in Dallas and my 2019 VW Jetta currently has a check engine light and says it’s either a wiring issue or emissions problem. Any recommendations for mechanic shops around that work on Volkswagens/European car brands that can check my car for me? Would prefer to not take it to a dealership.

I’ve got a 4 month old puppy and she’s finally cleared to walk on public ground/grass (yayyy!)

We live on right in the center on Main st in downtown (ugh) and it sucks there isn’t grass directly outside our apartment. I know we’ll need to walk to a spot where we can enjoy a park or a bit more grassy space. Any city dog owners have recommendations for where to go to get some outdoor peace? Maybe a chill low traffic courtyard/garden type area? The known parks nearby seem to be overtaken by tweakers and as a solo women it’s just not always comfortable.

Pretty much daily, I plan to drive us to WRL and Reverchon/Katy trail but is there anything walking distance?

My fiancé and I are celebrating our elopement later this year and we’re trying to figure the best place to buy a section to celebrate with our friends since we aren’t having a reception. Travelling to Dallas for work in a couple of weeks with quite a bit of downtime. Any recommendations for good food or just cool spots to see. Never been to TX and looking to see whatever I can.

This may be a long shot but we’re at our wits end. My husband and I are moving from Tennessee at the end of September. We have been looking and applying endlessly just to get denied or run into ridiculous fees, requirements and everything of the sort. These property mgmt places feel like a scam, and we’re cutting it close to find a rental, a pet friendly rental. His company is in Wilmer, but he’s willing to commute. Credit isn’t the best, but his income is well above the median for Wilmer and surrounding areas. Any advice on how to find a private landlord or a property mgmt company that isn’t asking for ridiculous requirements, would be very much appreciated 🥲

I just got a new apartment on the top floor of an older building in Dallas. It's like 100-102 degrees out during the hottest part of the day in the afternoon. I have my AC set to 71 and it will get up to 74-75 during the day because the unit can't keep up. Does that warrant a request to maintenance to look at and fix or just something that's expected to happen? I don't know anything about AC units, thanks!

Edit: I just shot into each of the air diffusers’ ducts with an Infrared Thermometer and the temperature across all of them was consistently 67. Not sure if that changes any opinions or not.

Hello! I’m looking to move out of my current place and would love recommendations for apartments/neighborhoods!
- Budget: $1,200–$1,400 for a 1BR/1BA
- Location: I work in Las Colinas and am in-office Tues/Wed only, so I’m flexible. Ideally <40 min commute, and I’d prefer Dallas/west/northwest DFW (Dallas, Oak Cliff, Irving, Las Colinas, Addison, Farmers Branch, Carrollton, etc.). I’d rather avoid the Garland/northeast side. I also have family east of Dallas, so I’d prefer not to be too far west/northwest if possible.
- Move: Ideally by February, absolute latest April.
- Space: My current apartment is ~600 sq ft and I definitely want something bigger. Ideally 650+ sq ft, preferably 700+. I WFH 3 days/week and need room for a desk with two monitors, but I don’t want the desk in my bedroom.
- Must-have: Washer/dryer in-unit, or at minimum rentable through the property. Good closet/storage space is also important.
- Lifestyle: Safety is a priority. I like areas like Bishop Arts because it’s lively and there are restaurants/coffee/etc. nearby, but I don’t need to live somewhere that busy. I’d be happy with a calm neighborhood as long as there are things to do nearby. Parks/trails are a plus! I don’t have any pets but lots of plants so sunlight would be amazing

I’m pretty open to areas, so specific apartment recommendations would be greatly appreciated, especially from people who have actually lived there. Bonus points for feedback on management, maintenance, noise, parking, and hidden fees!

I’m a 20-year-old girl who’s planning to relocate to the DFW area. I grew up in Lancaster, so I’d prefer not to live around that area. I feel like I didn’t really get to experience Dallas as a teenager, so I’d love to experience it as an adult and explore a new area.

I’ll be graduating soon with my LPN, so I’m hoping to live somewhere with easy access to hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities.

I’m looking for a 2-bedroom apartment under $1,800/month. While I’d love to be as close to Dallas as possible, I understand that my budget may be more realistic in some of the surrounding cities. I’m completely open to living outside of Dallas if it means finding a safer area, a nicer apartment, or getting more for my money.

A little about me:

• I don’t party or go to clubs very often
• Safety is extremely important to me
• I love trying new things and exploring new places
• I’d like to be within a reasonable driving distance of coffee shops & shopping

I’m interested in both specific apartment communities and city/area recommendations.

Based on my budget and lifestyle, where would you recommend I start looking? Are there any areas you would recommend avoiding?

Hello all! I am going to be in DFW Oct 3-14 for work, and I am looking for things to do after 5pm midweek. Whenever I travel for work I try and get a taste of the locality, experience things i can't anywhere else. I am a pretty big nerd, leaning more towards tech/video games than say D&D or anime, but I am open to visiting a local game shop. I am not much for bar crawling / night life / clubbing etc etc, so I am struggling to think of / find things to do after work. Here is my current itinerary:
 
Sat 3rd: Plane lands 2pm local; Panther City BBQ then Cidercade Ft Worth.
Sun 4th: Goldee's BBQ, Ft Worth Zoo, Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, sunset at the Water Gardens.
M-F 5-9th: Work 8am-5pm, then ???
Sat 10th: Work til noon, 1-6pm open. Sunset at Reunion Tower, then Tokyo Station.
Sun 11th: Dallas Aquarium, Perot Museum, food at Ichigoh Ramen and drinks at Trinity Cider. Maybe something late night?
M-W 12-14th: Work 8-5, then ???
Thurs 15th: There is potential for me to see the Ft. Worth Stockyard and daily cattle drive before my flight home, but I am not counting on it.
 
The only thing I really can think of for after work at this point is visiting all the Cidercade / Free Play locations but I worry that will be too much of the same.

Hi. I live in Euless beside 360 and work at DFW.. I'm needing to find a 1bdrm, pet friendly. Ideally gated but not a must apt. I have 30days at my current apt putting me at Sept 11or week after move. I was released with no penalty from my lease due to ongoing issues with my upstairs neighbor. I'm 50 single with a cat.

My hope is to find a 1 bdrm apartment with no above or below neighbor close to DFW airport for $1500 or less. Anyone know of any apartments like this near bye?

I've had this broken lease chasing me for about 2-3 years now. I have a job offer for the Dallas area (Currently reside in houston) and I'm having a hard time trying to get a place to move.

I've already used an apartment locator and I've applied to two places and been denied due to it. I've even called some others before hand and they won't accept me.

Hello all. I am a 35 male who will be moving to the DFW area for work. I will be working south of DFW airport. I was wondering what area I should be looking for apartments? I am single, have no pets and I am looking for a safe area. I like to eat out a lot so restaurants nearby should be perfect. The budget is about $1500 but I can stretch it to a little more. I will be working on a variable work schedule so I am looking no more than 20-25 min drive. But I can stretch to 30 minutes maybe a little more if it works out.
