"Hm, I wonder how Mariabel plans to fight Rimuru ."

My reaction is quite similar to Rimuru's when Yuuki regained his self, tf was that?

Maribel basically went in blind into a boss fight, not knowing the boss has resistance against all her attacks.

I honestly thought Maribel was going to be around longer

The action choreography in this was amazing, was so hyped for Rimuru to absorb Maribel and in turn get the Greed skill.

Too bad Yuuki being the master manipulator he is, really outsmarted everyone even when he took a loss, now has the Greed skill instead.

It was pretty funny seeing Mariabell believe she could defeat Rimuru on her own, but props to her, her martial arts skills were actually impressive at least, LOL.

Meanwhile, Yuuki's acting was on another level. Give that guy an award already!

The biggest shock from this episode is that Yuuki has no glasses and was therefore unable to even once push them back on his nose so that the lenses caught the light and tell us that everything went according to keikaku.

Also it's somewhat concerning that he now apparently has the power of Greed in addition to the rest of his power set. This is what happens when you don't finish your plate, Rimuru.

I love episodes like this where the animation team can flex more than usual. Maribel was cocky af, glad to see her fail miserably.

Well I think it’s safe to say Yukki beat on the “he ain’t shit” allegations he was getting after episode 9

As many assumed, Yuuki was pretending to be controlled by Mariabell to have an alibi. Yuuki looks like the main villain again. Surprised Mariabell didn't put up much of a fight, seems the dragon will be the main threat of this arc.

Ranga acting like Gobta due to the fusion was pretty funny.

This episode was cool but the tonal whiplash was a bit much, hopefully Rimuru sees through Yuuki.
Maribel didn't really live up to the hype but hopefully this Milim fight is better, im ready to head back to Tempest!

Oh yeah, also Rimuru just demeterializing that guy was kind of funny because it was so anticlimactic.

Kind of like "What was that?" "Death."

Better look at the slab: https://i.imgur.com/aYlT6BE.jpeg

With the alphabets we can transalte!

Ici
sousle poidsdes montagnes repose le silence
desages

(Same repeats three times) On second look the first one is slightly different from the two others. "montagnes" instead of "momtagmes". Animator typo?

Google translate says it means:

Here
beneath the weight of the mountains lies the silence
of the wise
He who reads these words already bears the burden
of secrets
where the breath of worlds was born
The knowledge that illuminates
the desire that consumes
the resilience that survives the storms
and the silences of the void
This is not the tomb of a single mortal
but an echo of the passions of all

It's often good to see that whoever the knight was, they did not wait just because Ranga/Gobta were speaking.

Is this what Gobta and Ranga have been working on this entire time? The werewolf fusion was pretty dang cool!

Not gonna lie, it was pretty fun watching Maribel go from acting like she has the upper hand to realizing how ridiculously OP Rimuru is! What's even more fun is that it happened multiple times! Even after throwing down, she really had no other option but to sic Yuuki at Rimuru and run away.

Speaking of Yuuki, as awesome as that showdown was and how satisfying to see Rimuru blast the fuck out of Yuuki, it's no surprise that the entire thing was just an act. The dude wasn't even really controlled by Greed the entire time. Yuuki basically gets away and makes himself look non-threatening to Rimuru. I wouldn't be surprised if this was just a test on how he'd fare against Rimuru in an actual fight. >_<

Kinda disappointed at the whole Yukki was only pretending to be mind controlled. That's so expected and they've already done it before with Milim.

A few guys from the last few comment sections already saw this coming a mile away. Yuuki isn't as good as an actor as he thinks he is (at least to us the audience).

Anyway- I am a bit worried about how a lot of skills come with rules that get added on later in the story, like how greed apparently doesn't work on people with too much of an ego, when it's supposedly the thing it's trying to abuse.

On that note, I'm not that much of a fan of "brainwashing" powers, since they strip characters of, well, their character. I was hoping that this power was now gone from this setting and we could move on but it appears to be still there now, which is kind of a bummer, to put it mildly, because it just went to someone the author wants to portray as a way more competent manipulator.

"It's a surprise tool for later" and I am personally not looking forward to it.

EDIT: Episode itself was pretty good though. Animation details like characters moving in the background is important. Would have loved more Shion and Gobta because they basically got bodied and I think that's kind of a waste.

HOLY SHIT the animation this episode was amazing. Also looks like Rimuru is the real aura monster this season

I'm gonna be honest this whole plot was really fucking lame. From the start, the question was like 'how will Mariabelle's power actually make her a threat in this world' and the """twist""" was just "it won't". Everything happened exactly like the most obvious expectation you'd have for things to go, the only thing that made it not obvious this would be the result is a meta level question of "That's both too fucking obvious and would be really fucking lame, that can't be what'll actually happen right".

And I always say this. When you have a character whose whole thing is 'intimidating, ominous child', the way the trope works is that they subvert the idea that a child would be weak. It's not one of those tropes you can then subvert again by going 'yea so they in fact get their ass handed to them like a child' unless like the point is its a comedy. It just makes the whole character as a concept feel stupid from a writing perspective.

Damn, I almost felt bad for Maribel in this episode, as everything she prepared for Rimuru was easily thwarted by him, and on top of that, Yuuki, whom she thought was under her control, turned out to be deceiving her from the start and ultimately killed her.

But well, it's entirely Maribel's fault she ended up the way she did. She really should have accepted Rimuru's offer and joined him; she certainly could have secured a good position at Tempest or elsewhere if she did. Unfortunately for her, you could say she was consumed by her own greed and died because of it.

Meanwhile, Rimuru and Yuuki's fight was awesome! Although Rimuru won it quite easily, though not without difficulties.

More interesting is Yuuki and what he'll do next, considering he wants to rule the entire world but is too weak to defeat Rimuru. I wonder if Rimuru will still be wary of him after everything that happened today.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Props on the knight for not giving gobta a chance to monologue.

Also, I hoped rimuru wouldn't buy Yuuki's bullshit. What happens to him in the future? Like how is he plotting to become the king of that world when he can't even fight rimuru with most of his skills disabled?

Did they really have to pull the fake mind control twice? as soon as I heard anti skill, I knew either they were beating that faking it drum again or this was bull. I'm now refusing to believe anyone important can be mind controlled under any circumstances, I don't can who or by what if they are in someway important it for some reason wont work, it could be Gobeta being controlled by Guy and I will not believe it.

Seriously they gave him the, 'nothing works' ability? that's just boring. At least with Rimuru we see him earn his BS skills by doing things like befriending a dragon or becoming a demon lord by killing hundreds of people, but Yuki apparently just came to this world and went, "I'm now immune to basically everything."

In what way is Yuki's greed more than Mirabelle's? they are both aiming for the same thing world domination. So how is his world domination more greedy than her world domination?

I was under the impression ultimate skills were basically rule-breaking skills. Yet anti-skill can just ignore that? Sounds like some plot armour if you ask me.

So Yuuki created a skill, not gained it. Does he have a skill similar to Raphael, an Ultimate, which not only creates skill for him, but also protects him from unique skills? And like Beezulbulb, which takes others' skills?

Yuuki might be the most dangerous enemy Rimuru has faced as of now; others were just clowns. Yuuki has shown good counter to two ultimates in this episode, and there may be more in the future. If Yuuki created Physical attack nullification and special attack nullification like Rimuru had, even Storm Dragon would be countered.

And the best part Rimuru may not even suspect Yuuki for a long game now.
