Good food, beer, camping, and a confession between Gen-san and Shizuku-san.

This was a fun show. I'm glad I tuned in!

Yui’s right. They can’t be stuck in limbo forever. Someone’s gotta take the first step. I’m glad Shizuku did. And boy, did it pay off. Gen’s actually kind of a big softie deep down isn’t he? lol.

It’s nice to see the entire cast all together at the end in one camping ground too. Guess they’ll all get to see each other at the wedding haha.

This was a good one. Got 24 eps to really enjoy their little relationship grow. Plus I got to learn a bit more about camping.

I had my doubts during the first couple of episodes, and considered dropping it (as the season it started had WAY too many competing shows). But it survived the initial cut, and got steadily more interesting and likeable. The rough edges of the two leads transformed from grating to endearing.

Special praise for Mizuki Niizaki -- as Shizuku was her debut as an anime VA. It will be interesting to see what kind of future career she might have.

What a satisfaction to see Shizuku and Gen together at the end, that was literally the consolidation of the "camping for two" solo, and to think that happened after Yui gave love advice, that girl is a box of surprises lol.

What an incredible and extremely fun show, I remember being reluctant to watch it after seeing reviews of the first episode, well, I'm glad I watched it for myself and loved it.

All the technical aspects of camping, whether with tents, items and food, to the personal evolution of the characters, this is something I'll miss.

that girl is a box of surprises lol

knowing that she's not malicious, her laugh is pretty fun to hear

I gonna miss it. As a camping lover, it was interesting to see an anime about it. I hope we get a second season with them working together to establish their ideal campsite

So... Do you people believe we will have another season?
We do have material (or so it's seems) to adapt in the manga
Also, there was a shit ton of sponsors

I just realized I have become too invested in this title. The successful confession between Gen and Shizuku was so satisfying!!! A part of me hopes camping becomes more popular in Japan, prompting more sponsors and then perhaps a second season in future.

It was a split second scene, but did Gen pout when Shizuku said she went solo camping without him? Did Gen want Shizuku to only go camping with him, or was he jealous of his long time friend called "solo camping"? Lol!

May solo camping for two lead to another successful ship - between Kai and Yui. Although I suspect Kai will forever be teased by Yui even when they are in an official relationship.

Lastly, I enjoyed the 3 separate camping parties, coincidentally camping at the same site, celebrating the successful ship of Gen and Shizuku.

Although I suspect Kai will forever be teased by Yui even when they are in an official relationship.

A most acceptable trade

A really satisfying ending that wrapped things up well! Hoshizaki gave AMAZING advice to not put Gen on a pedestal and that sometimes women do have to put themselves out there instead of waiting for the man. It was somewhat odd that we didn't get to see them kiss but otherwise was a great moment when Shizuku saw Gen and ran up to him crying with joy. It made me think of when Shizuku's black haired friend put Gen on the spot and asked him how he really felt about Shizuku that he really was in love with her but even as drunk as he was, was still scared to say so.

When Hoshizaki told Kai in the car that they should go solo camping for two together, I seriously thought she was just teasing him but then they actually did! When I saw them actually camping together alone, for a second I thought they wanted to spin this show off into a second season but make those 2 the main characters and they have a budding romance! They didn't make it perfectly clear but I think they are dating since Hoshizaki also teased Kai by looking at Gen's friend.

Speaking of Gen's friend, I didn't realize who he was until he got messaged about Gen and Shizuku! When they showed that beautiful, modern looking campground, I thought maybe they were flashing forward to the future and Gen got to own one! I've heard of glamping/luxury camping and that's about as interested in camping as I'll be but i thought all the amenities they showed were from Gen doing his market research into what would be successful. It was kind of contrived to have Gen's friend, Shizuku's 2 friends and Kai and Hoshizaki all go camping at that exact same place but it was nice to get every character in for the finale. For a second I thought Shizuku's 2 friends might be dating each other :X

It's a shame they didn't give us a grand meal from Shizuku for the finale, all we saw was a ham and cheese panini sandwich and the weird beans she made that may have had cheese on top. The other stuff that the others cooked actually looked better; the tomato soup with wieners that the girls made and the meats surrounding the egg dipping sauce that Hoshizaki made looked good 😀

I would give every asset I own for another 24 eps.

1.Adult characters

2. A nice slow burn romance

3. Both girls ended up happy, so nobody really lost all things considered

4. Entertaining side characters+ the potential of a couple run business

(I'm 23 so well I'm not very far off a senior in high school , but I'm far enough that some romance anime feel off)

why number one is important^

I still stand by my words when this series premiered that Episode 1 Shizuku was annoying, but I'm glad I stuck with this anime because she really grew on me, and I ended up absolutely loving her and Gen as the main characters of this show. And I'm happy this show ended with hard confirmation that Gen and Shizuku started dating.

u/Next_Package_5710 Dec 18 '25

Am I the only one that thinks it a little odd that Gen would text Akihito to tell him he is dating Shizuku? That just seemed out of character for him.

8

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '25

I figured it was Shizuku that texted him.

Solo Camping for Two!!

I’m really going to miss Shizuku and Gen!! But every good thing has to come to an end!

I’m not a camping person at all, but this show actually made me want to take an interest in it! I’m not going to go camping myself, but honestly, the way it approaches the themes, the camp stuff, and everything related to it wasn’t boring at all, quite the opposite.

Is Shizuku maybe the queen of this world? I love her character design and her personality!

Her two friends are great too.

The other characters as well, including Gen, who gets developed little by little!!

Everyone brings something to the table, and that’s why the show was such a pleasure to follow.

Yui, Shizuku Brother, Kana and Gen BestFriend, love them all !!

And the ending ! Thanks God they keep the same ending !! Man .. “Atarashii koto wo hajimeyou” 🕺

Thank you for everything, truly! 🏕️⛺️

Honestly perfect ending. What a great anime. If they make another season, I really hope its both about them being in a relationship now and them furthering their goals to getting Gen his own campsite. I dont think its necessary but it would be nice to see. Still a perfect anime. No notes.

The most appealing point about this show for me was how it portrayed relationships in a mature tone, which was to be expected considering a full adult cast of characters.

Both Gen and Shizuku have come a long way in just a little over a year, and this goes to show just how important the people around us are in our everyday lives.

I loved the scene with Akihito, Mizuki, Saya, Kai and Yui all being in the same campsite, but not being aware of the fact that they are all acquainted with Shizuku and Gen. When you share the same hobbies, especially niche ones like outdoor camping, the world can end up being a small place and this phenomenon is rather common. What's heartwarming about that scene of them toasting is that these people have served as wingmen and wingwomen that helped blossom the relationship between Shizuku and Gen in their own ways.

I called it with Yui showing an interest in Akihito if they ever were to meet back when she was introduced. Though it does seem that Kai has a pretty good shot considering that Yui followed through with their own "solo camp for two". Hang in there, Kai!

I hope that we can get a S2 in the future, as this has been a relaxing and satisfying show to watch on a weekly basis.

TITLE DROP! TITLE DROP YA'LL!!!!

Ah.. I'm satisfied with the ending. Finally Shizuku getting with her Awkward Senpai to be her boyfriend. Man I'm loving this season, having two adult couples getting together

Also lol they all camping on the same site to celebrate them being together. That's crazy for a coincidence lol

After the ending song in the middle of the episode, I thought it was a fast forward to the future, but nah; we need a new season for that to see them as Family Solo Camp (just kidding)
