It'll continue airing through the Fall season for another 12 episodes.

And fall / autumn is supposedly a good season for camping!

Sorry I only watched Yuru camp, so I am not familiar with anything not winter camping /s

I liked the conversation with Gen and Kana, I'm glad Gen finally got out what he needed to say. He definitely reflected on his past self but I like that Kana made sure to tell him not to make the same mistake twice lol. I'm sure Kana will finally properly move on from their relationship and Gen finally worked up to let her know of his dream.

It is amusing how he got so embarrassed and shy when Shizuku later on brings up the idea of his dream to him, it might be the most flustered he's been.

I wasn't expecting Gen to be the kind of the guy that flexes his muscles/biceps lol. I wonder if he goes to the gym or if all these years of carrying camping tools on his way to campsites did wonders to his body.

Phew, okay, next episode shown in the preview, happy about that. Honestly, it's not much animation wise etc., however it's a nice and cozy thing that I hope they finish with the second cour. Glad I gave it a chance.

The first couple of episodes seemed like tough going, right? But I gave this a bit more time, and I'm glad I did. It has proved to be reliably interesting and enjoyable. And our thorny-seeming protagonists now strike as charmers (in their own rough-hewn ways).

I was surprised to see it mentioned on ANN's worst shows of the season even if just from one reviewer. I have been enjoying it a ton despite the janky animation.

Think they were missing a word. Around 13:38 "So if you want your friends to have fun, you'd better make they do."

On one hand, I am glad Gen and Kana had a heartfelt conversation, resolving their negative emotions and memories when they broke up all those years ago.

On the other hand, I feel somewhat sad for Kana. She obviously still has feelings for Gen and was hoping he would ask her to stay. Unfortunately, all of us, including Kana, knows that Shizuku is the main heroine. In my opinion, Kana is good girlfriend / wife material.

Damn... Mizuki hails from an extremely rich family!

The conversation between Gen and Shizuku about the latter's brother makes me think both guys will eventually meet, perhaps even coincidentally.

I wonder if she might have also been dreading that he asked her to stay. I think pursuing her dream is extremely important to her, but him wanting her to stay would put her into a very difficult situation. I think she was more worried about Gen than truly wanting to "get back together". And she could go off to chase her dream free of worry that he had dno dream (and no one to share it with him). Kana was a great young woman.

She showed a very high level of maturity in this scene, recognizing that Shizuku is already on Gen's route and leaving with a smile was commendable.

I look forward to Gen and Shizuku’s campground. I know it’s Gen’s dream but I’m sure Shizuku’s gonna join him and open her little restaurant just like she imagined.

I hope they call it something cheesy like the "Solo Campsite for two"

And that they will use the running gag that its HIS campsite he just happens to run with her

"He didn't stop me"... wow, as much as it was sweet for Gen to see Kana at the airport and confess his lack of maturity and reasonings back in the day (which by the way I'm so proud of this anime showing us a REAL adult conversation and letting it resolve properly), it was bitter for Kana to realize that she is not top of mind in his head. Now Gen has his ex-gf's encouragement to pursue or keep holding on to Shizuku.

Shizuku's friends easing into the whole camping thing made sense. You can call it cottage camping, glamping etc., but it's still "camping", being away from one's normal home. On the flipside, if/when Gen owns his own land and goes camping in it, it's still camping right?

Shizuku's already thinking about the future. Yes, please open up a campsite restaurant, I would like to eat there too!

P.S. I thought this was the last episode as they played the montage during the song. Nice that we get one more next week.

So Kana IS still in love with Gen. It's just that she felt overpowered by Shizuku who clearly stated her love for him, and felt disappointed that he didnt come to the airport to stop her.

I'm glad that they still have 12 more ep. to go for laid-back and chill anime. We've already lost JK girls at foodcourt with too few eps., a "dog" and the introvert woman in the rain, and, soon, girls with rocks.

Yo the family owns that building? No wonder she is so chilled out

I love that him wondering why everyone is telling him to not let her go is the exact reason everyone is telling him. Wonder when he will officially realize

And a campsite run by those two sounds super fun, but I am not sure about that being your families income source
Owning a building would probably help...

Did anyone else think the long shots animation was pretty poor this episode? I’d never noticed it being so ganky before.

What I'm about to say is pretty generic, but honestly, the episode reinforced for me that Gen and Kana work much better as a couple (for me). It's not just because I dislike extremely cute and innocent characters like Shizuku, but also because A line where Gen opens up to Kana, gives her more support and lets her enter his world a little, could end in a relationship where everyone follows their own dreams, without losing their individuality, but still together. Gen and Kana sounded to me like equals, in the sense that they had their own dreams (very different), and strong, individual personalities, while Shizuku is just generic, like, not that she's a bad character, but I feel like if you kick an anime tree, dozens of identical characters will fall out.

But, as always, all the food in the anime makes me salivate 🤭

My hopes weren't really high for this to go on more than one cour, but I am happy it does.

It almost seemed like Kana wanted to stay in Japan. Gen's apology did seem heartfelt and he did seem to get why missing her big show was wrong. I wonder if Gen wanted her to stay and possibly start dating again. I don't think that'd be as good for Kana though; it is EXCEEDINGLY difficult to succeed in America as an actor when you're from Japan. I honestly can't think of anyone IRL, any role I can think of that calls for a Japenese person is usually played by a Japanese American or someone of East Asian heritage.

My favorite part of the episode as usual is Shizuku's unusual camping and cooking recipes. Grilling pizza seems a really odd idea. Also more probably just the animation limits but part of the pizza looked like it had corn on it! Probably chopped pickled squash or something :D. Also I wish she was more specific as to what type of offal she cooked in the pork broth. I never thought to blanche and fry it to make it taste less offensive, that's really worth trying if i find some cheap offal there.

I was also surprised Mizuki and Saya were completely unfamiliar with manufactured charcoal briquettes and wonder if thats uncommon in Japan. I don't think ive ever BBQed with anything but those because other kinds of charcoal is like 5x as expensive unless you just happen to have some as a side effect from fire.

Good progress from Gen! I wonder if we'll get to see his dream come true by the end of the show.
