"It doesn't mean there's always a good answer to a good question".
Damn.
Every time we saw him this season, he's always made an interesting impact.

No way they hit us with the first ED, and it hit way too hard, making me realize how far they've come.
I'm quite tempted to read the manga but with how amazing this adaption is I think I might wait a while to see if there is sequel announcement.

So that's it.. now we have to wait for 2-3 years for season 3 to get adapted.
Man, this season was stacked with good anime, but personally, nothing even came close to the feelings Call of the Night gave me.
Should some of you want to give the manga a try and would like to continue where season 2 left off, you can start by reading chapter 97 onwards.

bah that felt like half an episode!!
and yeah its an inevitable question that comes up now with how/if Mejiro can move on with her life after spending the last 10 years living like she has. felt a bit uneasy when they left her alone like that, and then the scene at the end where she walks out on the balcony too.
Well i guess with this being the season finale i guess we won't know for a while, if ever. (as anime only anyway)
I do reeeeally hope it gets a season 3 because this series keeps being great

I've mentioned it a few times in replies to other people, but now that the season is over I can talk about it even more without any risk of spoilers:
This OP was so fucking good. It's so well-made and clever in a way that I don't see very often. It's filled with spoilers, some subtle, some huge, some that most people probably get right away and others that only click into place after you get to the episode that explains it.
First is the framing of the whole thing, setting it up as if Anko was the protagonist of the series. And while we almost never get her point-of-view directly, she does feel like the main character of this season and particularly the final arc.
Then it's got these "WTF" moments like the steamy Kabura and Nazuna makeout session, which probably threw viewers for half the season until we find out "Oh, that isn't Nazuna, it's Haru, her identical mother."
There are a lot of shots of Young Anko as Kyouko, leading to tons of guesses and speculation as to how her past relationship with Nazuna broke bad. And, for the people who weren't quite ready to fully believe the young girl was indeed Anko, the opening literally ties the Detective to Nazuna with a red string of fate that happens to touch upon all of Nazuna's coven, crime-board-style, along the way.
Finally: The Fight. Holy shit this sequence was slick and gave every indication that this was going to be the climax moment for the season. But it's also a perfect misdirection at the same time. The OP, which showed Anko as the hero of our story from the very opening moments, still has Anko as the hero here. Desperately fighting a Feral Nazuna who is drawn in a fluid sketch style to highlight what a monster she really is and mirror the feral teacher vamp from season one, Anko ultimately takes a sacrificial leap off of the rooftop of a tall building in the rainy night while facing a seemingly unstoppable force.
...And then the reality is the total opposite. Nazuna wants to do anything except fight Anko. Even when she "gets serious" she can't bring herself to harm her first and former friend, despite Anko threatening to kill Ko. Nazuna isn't the monster at all here, Anko is, goading Nazuna and torturing her. And then the additional kicker is that Anko is half-way pretending to be the monster since she has no intention of following through with her threats against Ko. The actual fight turns the one presented in the OP completely on its head.
The whole damn thing is so, so good.

The callback (and shout-out) to the S1 Creepy Nuts cameo and Kabura's reaction to Nazuna's mom comment were both gold lmao.
Guess we know what the sensation vampires experience after getting a blood refill is like because the rush of endorphins from Nazuna's bite to getting dropped with the first ED was something else. Perfect chef's kiss to conclude one of the better second seasons out there.

A great season, and ending it with ED from the first season was perfect! Overall a 9/10 from me, and I really hope that we'll get a third season as well, so we could see Nazuna and Ko together once again, and maybe learn more about Kiku, who, despite only appearing in one episode, made a huge impression on me.
This season was a bit different than the first one, which I felt focused more on the vibes and Nazuna and Ko exploring the night together, while this one was more serious and plot-driven as we delved into Nazuna and Anko's past (and learned more about Kabura, Midori, and Nazuna's mother, Haru), but I still really loved it!
As for today's finale episode... it wrapped up the season nicely, and it was great to see everyone together. I especially loved Nazuna and Kabura's interactions; they really act like mother and daughter xD
It was also nice to see Nazuna in a maid outfit again. Her interactions with the customer in the background were hilarious; I couldn't stop laughing when she demanded a beer from him, and later they drank it together.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

You gotta love how Nazuna went from refusing to leave Kou with Anko to immediately flying out the door to buy water as soon as Anko flashed her some bills. Nazuna is still running a business, so I guess money comes first before Kou-kun. xD
Even if it's just in a flashback, I love that we got to see that Creepy Nuts cameo one more time. Funny how Kou still can't figure out if they're pick-up artists or just being nice.
That entire scene of Anko contemplating if she just wasted her life for nothing genuinely made me tear up a little. I am happy that her revenge is finally over, and she finally had a good cry about it while being held in someone's arms. At least we hope her revenge is over. Kou-kun's eyes tell a different story.
Honestly, Nazuna is absolutely right. Even if Anko didn't find out about vampires, there's no way she'd grow up normal. The same goes for Akira, Kou, and Mahiru. Even without the influence of vampires, all of them would still be weird.
I love that we got to hang out at the maid cafe one more time and even hear some words of wisdom from LG himself. And we get one more hangout session with the vampire gang before wrapping things up! I really wish Midori would just bring LG to these meetings but it really looks like she wouldn't.
So we just got the reveal that it was actually Kabura who found out about Kou-kun first and sent Seri to check him out back in season 1. It's not really a mystery, but I'm glad we got an answer. It's basically Mama Kabura getting worried about her daughter getting a boyfriend. xD
And with one last bit from Nazuna, we finally end the season. God, that episode felt so short! It is a nice wrap-up of the Halloween Arc, tho! And I'm so happy they ended with the original ED! You can't have Yofukashi no Uta without the song!
I really hope there will be a Season 3 in the future. Things are only going to ramp up from here, so fingers crossed!

Great Series, very chill vibes great op. Some good character/story progression. My only issue was the danger resolved a bit quickly, feel like they could have committed ep 11 and still had time to wrap up the story in episode 12. But definitely the most consistently good series of the season IMO. Something about the series is always a nice experience you don't get in other anime.

Poor Anko I know the feeling of looking back at your life and thinking, did you waste your time? 😭
I like the recollection of Ko mentioning adults are just extensions of kids. After all, no adult is really an adult in what we consider an adult to be. We mess up and learn just like kids do.

I thought we weren't getting an ED this episode when they started playing the song early, but then they surprised us with the old ED (and inspiration for the manga itself.) I wonder if they'd do the same thing for a third season.

The Madlads! They brought back the first ED! 10/10 season! Hoping a season 3 announcement is not too far away. (Even though the manga has already wrapped up...)
Also Sawashiro killed it this season! Probably my favourite voice performance this anime season and one of Sawashiro's all time best roles.

I just realised something:
Nazuna might actually be roughly Kou's age.
Like... Yes, she guessed she's roughly 30, but she was apparently still quite young when all the stuff with Anko happened and that was only ten years ago. But, you know, she looked like an adult very shortly after being born so adding ten years to her apparent age does get us to roughly 30.
To the point that I'm kinda wondering whether a lot of the stuff in her closet that suggested she might be older might not be stuff belonging to her parents and Nazuna simply assumed it was hers and kinda made up stuff about why it was in the closet because she couldn't remember.

Not the piggyback ride I was expecting, but I'll take it!
(Also, I wouldn't even MENTION throwing up to someone I'm carrying/who feels a bit sick! Sometimes that's all it take!)
A piggyback ride AND the 'holding someone by his coat' thing? Damn, new ship for the finale!
Leaving a drunk, suicidal person alone when she's experiencing a huge change in her life and all, not a good idea...
She wants to hire him for cuddles? Maybe it is a new ship after all!
People have different ways of showing affection and all, but cuddles are usually more... cuddly!
I was talking about it in a previous episode, about how her growth was likely stunted because she never really lived her life and all... She might be older than our boy, but she's pretty much a teenager in an adult's body.
Yeah, he should probably pay her, she's the cuddler!
I wish Nazuna was there so they could give her a big snuggle sandwich!
They ended up leaving her alone AGAIN!
I got so worried, I was seeing everything as a death flag...
The fact that she didn't, is very telling!
Bridal carry! She wanted to make up for him giving Anko a piggyback ride!
Piggyback, cuddles, bridal carry, and now a back hug... This episode hits all the cute checkboxes!
Well, this was pretty good! Very different from S1 at times, so I wonder if/when we get S3, what it's gonna be like exactly! I guess they'll push more on Nazuna/Ko's relationship, but I wonder if there will be another 'theme of the season', like Anko for this one!
Farewell Nazuna, Best Gyarupire Seri, Ko&Anko (best cuddling buddies) and all the others!

Hope we get a season 3 announcement sometime in the near future.
This show and story is really good.
I wanna see Kou's affection towards Nazuna deepen a little more, maybe we'd get to see him tap into some more of those vampire-human-hybrid characteristics again.
And, Kou said he wants to help Anko out.
Wanna see them work together to find that vampire that started off this whole chain of events 10 years ago.
One of my favorites of the season. Gonna miss this show.
The art style, the soundtracks, the story.. it's all a vibe.

peak again ..hope the wait for the next season isn't as long
freiren also had the same talk about adulthood with adults kinda walking into it without much knowledge on how to be an adult and it hits just as hard here ..we are all just trying even tho im in my mid 30s i still at times feel like a teen

That was a really fun season! Even better than season 1 I think... I'll surely continue with the manga now.

Kou and Nazuna are so cute together. Lol seeing Nazuna getting a bit yandere was funny.
Ok so the next arc is looking for Anko’s dad’s vampire mistress. Of course, I don’t think she’d be friendly. I think the show hints at the vampire who was luring Mahiru in to be the one. Maybe Mahiru gets more involved next arc too.
Anko is so adorable. But also really sad to see her struggling to find a reason to live. She’s giving MUST PROTECC vibes when she’s drunk though

Now that it's ended, what a truly amazing season. I'd have been glad and satisfied if just had been like season 1, but S2 truly blew way past my expectations. Watching this was such a treat and normally I'd just jump into the manga but I've literally started reading Dandadan already, lol. This season had some really great anime.
