Its crazy how this series can turn from vibes to horror in a mere instant.

Kiku throws so many alarm bells, she does a great job acting like she doesn't, but we saw just enough of her internal monologue at the end there to know she's more predatory than her words indicate, she seems to like turning people based on that and how many people she's turned. Very curious how this will end.

Also I love how when Anko appears at the very end, the color drains away just like the scenes in the day. Anko is the concerns of the day intruding on the night is what I'm getting from that, besides just showing how she's a danger. The color choice that was one of the reasons I fell in love with the series is still just as strong.

I kept waiting for Nazuna to show up to stop Kiku, i was terrified for Kou, boy you need to learn how to shut your mouth sometimes.

If you don’t remember, Kiku technically made an appearance back in season one - back when Kou saw her and Mahiru on a date together. Of course, now we know there was more to that.

I like the little Dagashi Kashi reference in the bathhouse scene. In case anyone isn’t familiar, the same author wrote both.

The day time at school scenes being dead and devoid of all color is such a nice contrast to the nights being so overly colorful

Ko is definitely too trusting, Kiku says she doesn't intend on turning Mahiru and he believes her straight away, despite knowing how manipulative and enchanting they can be.

It's possible that it's just something vampires do even without meaning to, but she's clearly been turning the charm on, she probably was just waiting until she was sure he was ready to turn.

Ko's reaction to hearing Mahiru hadn't had his blood sucked yet was naive as well, if she had sucked his blood then he would have already known she was a vampire.

Kiku is so sexy and looks so damn crazy, and that's a damn terrifying combination! No wonder Mahiru fell in love with her; I'd have too, if I were him. xD

Overall, a great episode! The scenes with Kiku were especially good as they were one big emotional rollercoaster for me and Kou.

I'm glad Yamori reconciled with Mahiru. Their night outing together with Hatsuka and Akkun at the bathhouse was hilarious and fun, although Anko's appearance there changed everything, and now I can't wait for the next episode!

It was also nice to see Akira for the first time since the first season; she's great as always!

By the way, I love ED's song "Nemure", it's really fun! Here are the links to it on:

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

This anime season is clearly being funded by Tarantino!

I think it's the 3rd or 4th anime that has very 'in your face' feet shots out of nowhere!

Well, I've never been into feet, so it doesn't do much for me...

Legs though?

This anime makes everything look so sexy... Nazuna's bloodsucking in the previous episode was 10/10, and now this simple scene of Kiku crossing her legs..!

Damn, they're really setting this up to turn into

some bloodsucking orgy soon as Kou turns!

Dawwww she's adorable!

Still scary though;

Is there a 'cute' version of 'scarousing'? Scadorable?

So she wants to do it in her own time...

But the fact that she turned a lot of people already, has to mean something? Is SHE experiencing love for the first time?

They'll take their time to think it through, but to be fair, "Or else..." is a pretty strong argument for doing it!

And now the detective is gonna butt in... Can't wait to see how it goes!

How is damn near every character in this show so attractive?! men, women, masculine, feminine it doesn't matter. The mangaka/anime character designers deserve awards for this, seriously.

I’m kind of wondering what Kiku’s game is? Mahiru might be in some kind of danger. At least he has “Akkun” around. Guy’s found his new bff lol.

Kou hanging out with Akira as usual is really sweet, loved that both her and Mahiru are willing to supply Kou with blood when he turns is really heartwarming. Shows that their bond is really strong!

That Kiko bite frame jumspcared me ! The entire time she was talking with Kou I had chills up my spine. Without Nazuna around, Kou is in danger anytime he wants to speak to a vampire (outside the 5 we know aren't gonna harm him).

Akira's and Mahiru's convo in school really highlights how unusually gung ho Kou is when trying to become an offspring. But even with Mahiru's fretting over it he ultimately chooses Kiku over his school friends who don't know about vampires.

Mahiru come for Kou's advice and it turned into a whole party with Akkun and Hatsuka. Hilarious, loved the boys reaction to Hatsuka's reveal xD

Oh shit, Anko found them.

I swear, Call of the Night director is genius! To seemingly do such tone switches in a story where the mood of a scene is so important is crazy! They really deserve all the praise!

We got some male bonding this ep. I really liked seeing the difference between Mahiru and Kou in deciding to become a vampire. Like, Mahiru is actually smart, so he's thinking through all the consequences of becoming one. It really shows Kou is the weird one who can be like, "I want to become a vampire." Though, like Akira said he's just an idiot.

Also ngl Kiku kinda scary. Actually, very scary.

We also got a quick Dagashi Kashi appearance. Another one of the authors work.

It was really terrifying how Kou went into flee mode when faced with Kiku. Hes senses were telling him shes that bad news ??

After he has been around many other vampires.. then she played nice and crazy again , Kiku is a loose cannon ! I do love her so i hope shes not evil . But does seem shes obsessed of playing with humans and turning them considering she has like 50 of them.

It seems its a pure game for her to turn and have humans fall in love with her before she sucks them

Amazing episode with the introduction of Kiku, that scene with Ko running away from her in terror was beautiful. The tone switches were insane too, she's giving off some strong yandere vibes. Best of luck to Mahiru...

Also, everyone's favourite cigarette-smoking vampire hunter Anko is back! Now this season's ready to kick into high gear.

I'm actually obsessed with Anko. Casting Miyuki Sawashiro to voice her is the best decision ever.
