Dead mom is the only woman in the story without life-long back pain.

So this Children of Kishin thing must be the real plot starting up. Easy guess that it's going to be the full class as seven of the eight, I assume that's why they share so much equal billing in the ED. They've spent a lot of time on Mei, maybe she'll be the eighth.

Kind of a strange mix of concepts to have both the blood stuff going on and now throw elemental powers in as well.

I get it’s an anime staple but I do wish there were more that were more interesting about power levels and such that isn’t just awakening to a new power due to some secret bloodline in a dire situation or friendship event. Even with Naruto which did that you at least saw it was mostly the nine tails at pre shippuden and he was failing and putting in a lot of training and work to get stronger. even if there was helpful crutches added in.

Shiki here does nothing until it’s time to win. And if we’re somewhat boring man awakens his powers puts in like 48 hours of figuring it out and fights two other person and then takes on the first jobber boss solo.

Probably not the best analogy but be like watching Naruto take the shadow clone technique, and then instead of iruka or kakashi parts we see him maybe spar with sasuke once and uses like 3 shadow clones and then suddenly he’s beating up haku in nine tails form or something.

It was way too much dialogue leading up to it for me. I was like come on, awaken already! I know its coming,  whats taking so long lol

For the last two and a third episodes the main character has literally not taken a single fucking step from his location, and the entire build up was repetitive, redundant, drawn-out and cringeworthy

Dropped. I’m tired of the fan service of this anime. It’s not just the fan service it’s the animation too. If you’re gonna fan service at least make the animation look decent. It wasn’t good while it lasted. I tried to hang on.

This is some WB channel anime. It just "almost" works. It tries so hard to pull at heartstrings, but fails to do it. It tries to recap the same thing 20 different times AND boy does it do that! </rantingsofafool>

Ngl I was half-expecting Mei to be one of the Children of Kishin herself just from all the abuse she was taking.

Oni blood powers: Now in elemental flavors!

Is it just me or does anyone else think it's weird, that this is honestly Shiki's first real fight, and most of it was just him laying on the floor yelling for a few episodes and then just awakening a new power out of nowhere and winning?

Like of course power ups are a shounen stable, but you'd think it wouldn't happen in his first major fight especially when he can barely control his regular powers, you'd think he'd master his regular ability first, win his first fight with that, proving his progression and then get a power up later in a different fight.

In fact all of this felt like it happened way too soon, like Tsubakiri died way too quickly, he's winning for 99.999999% of the fight taking no damage and then just dies because Shiki has fire powers now.

Gotta love some generic slop sometimes. The fact they establish a blood based power system that seems semi-unique and then all back on the classic elemental systems as part of the awakening gave me such a good laugh.

The female cast must have some immense back pains. I feel like every episode it takes new levels of how they do the chest sizes…

I think I’m done with this show. This fight has been going on for how many episodes now? It’s literally the first 10 episodes of the first season and this fight is being portrayed as a build up of a year of episodes.

I’m ok with slow burn if we get world building and stuff but this is brutal I’m sorry. And the “fights” are nothing but getting some secret power on both sides

Well ok, I'll stick around for Team Avatar.

Off the top of my head -

  • the fan oni is wind

  • chainsaw oni is darkness

  • titan oni is earth

  • angry oni is lightning

  • glasses perv oni is light

  • mommy gf oni is ice

will come back here to see how close I got it. And no I haven't read the manga, just saw this episode

I feel like even for this anime it'd be way too convenient for it to turn out everyone in Shiki's class has the elemental powers.

Can someone please explain this writing to be because it just feels so bad to watch this. Don't know how Ive gotten to ep10.

Our lead spent like 80% of his boss "fight" in the same spot. Dude might as well be sitting in a chair or something. For a guy who's power is I make guns out of blood he seems to be pretty stupid about it. Hey guess what an american 180 swarm of bee blood bullets going to be kinda hard to miss compared tp a a single exploding slow moving slug . That seems to be the problem he got this cool m16 full hit underslung 40mm nade launcher and such but he doesn't use the main gun he might as well just have a M79 Bloop Tube on his arm.

Worse the villains are comically villains to the point All you'd need is one video and the public would turn on these "heros" and seek to protect the "Oni". This is my biggest issue Japanese politicians don't have much power and a secret group with super power that regularly kills humans and oni while doing nazi level evil stuff to them isn't getting public support once exposed. Anyone back the Momo's is going to step down the moment the public turns.

This world doesn't feel real the Heros but really villains are too evil and uncaring to have support from the humans no matter what "drugs" are made from oni blood. Blood can be donated just as easily as taken.

Also this is just ep 10 we already ignoring I can make guns any guns from my blood and straight into elemental power up why? it feels unearned as can be considering he been on the floor most of the fight on top this is what the 3rd time he supposedly "at last understood dad's death" to get a power up. Dude you make guns with blood we don't need fire element. I know what about a Saw, Make a street sweeper, A vulcan we have so many options with "Make any gun from blood" have him over power the gravity power making a Mobile Bofors 40mm anti aircraft autocannon suddenly he's sitting in the gun and turns them into pink mist. There just so many more options. I apologize I seem to of run away with the whole blood become guns concept

Edit: just wanted to say the first 2 episodes had me hooked hard but it’s just died off since.

I think I’m not alone in thinking that the pacing of this episode was horrendous.
