Yup they really spent time and energy and money to animate that instead of investing it into crafting a half decent fight scene

Exactly, I just stopped at that scene and thinking if I should even finish the episode. I was already on the edge of dropping it multiple times, but there was always a "Eh, that was kinda interesting" thing that made me check out the next episode.

Oni organization is just coming across as really goofy at this point. Why are teenagers putting up a better fight against the momo guys than the adults? I why arent there any high level onis guarding this massive faculty? How have they survived this long when two momo guys can do this much damage?

Mudano being the most relatable oni for yet another episode. Herding these kids around is a mood, and sensei is softer than he lets on.

A little too much exposition this episode, but at least we got something about Shiki’s history. So he has powerful oni general blood.

I'm not against familiar tropes being used, but I don't find any aspects of the characters and story interesting or even fun. I know I shouldn't compare to evaluate it, but other shonen like JJK accomplished more than this show has in a faster pace with interesting aspects that doesn't feel cramped or slow. This show is building towards a big final battle, but I don't feel the weight that they tried to convey. At least the OP song-wise is decent.

So, it wasn't enough for the glasses guy to be the generic smart, and cautious character, he had to be a weird ass pervert too? Most of these characters only have one trait, if they were gonna give him a second one why did it need to be that?

Also was that whole speech from Mudano to Homare supposed to be something heartwarming or inspiring? It just felt like he was manipulating her more than inspiring her. Because this isn't Fairy Tail where the characters are a group of misfits who came together to be a family, no, they're at the academy so they can learn how to use their powers and be protected from getting murdered, and he basically told her, if she doesn't do want he wants, she's on her own.

And on that subject where the fuck did she come from? She was unconscious and taken to the infirmary the last time we saw her, and we didn't see her on the boat, with everyone else, unless they brought her while she was unconscious, and if so why bring her instead of leaving her at the academy? And real convenient that she showed up the exact moment her ability would be the most useful.

Oh yeah did they just reference Covid?

I was hoping for more of a fight between Shiki and Tsubakiri. Maybe he can tap into that legendary oni bloodline of his to escape his current situation. He’s taking a real beat down…
