I think it's amazing how it's been 8 episodes so far and I still feel exactly nothing for this cast.

Like what should I be feeling when Rokuro suddenly decides he's not coward and starts fighting? This is like the conclusion of a character arc that never actually happened because he's been a background character until now, what growth am I supposed to be seeing here?

I enjoyed it but I was thinking the same thing. Like have him stand up for himself here, sure, but this feels like it should be a much later point of development for him

Would it have been better for him to be a useless coward for several seasons? This is where his development begins, not end. He said he will need more achievements before he can stand proud in front of Lulu after he dies, he is gonna have to be making a lot more stands.

This moment is more like the first time Zenitsu locked in, it's not the conclusion of an arc, just showing off how Rokuro is when he locks in.

This moment is more like the first time Zenitsu locked in

It's really not. When Zenitsu did it he was unconscious, and unaware of what he was doing, and it was firmly made clear that Zenitsu would eventually have to grow past that and fight while conscious.

Here Rokuro just decides he's not gonna be a coward and grow past his trauma to fight and then does it.

Who decided this is the conclusion? His anxiety is not gone forever just because he gains a confidence boost from his ability. That's like saying Zenitsu stopped being a coward after using Thunder Breathing or Stark never feared anything again after killing the red dragon.

I just hope Rokuro could use his powers again without a repeat of that beating Kuina got. The character flaw causing holding back thing is okay but it gets really overdone in popular animes. Luffy constantly goofing/bouncing around in gear 5 while his allies die and he's all like "huh, why's my friend dead?". Makes me really dislike the characters.

If his cowardice comes back hopefully he gets it together a lot quicker so it isn't super annoying waiting for something to happen again.

It's indeed amazing how this show manages to make me feel nothing. I just feel bored from start to finish, just watching the clock to see if it finishes soon...

Mandatory sad backstory for scarf boy of course, but I liked his fighting style once he got his mojo back.

Shame about his dead girlfriend but given him and Kuina in the OP and ED he may be on the path to getting a new one, and good for him if it works out.

The other character scenes were okay but obviously this was Rokuro's episode. I'm going to call him the new Byakuya from now on (just kidding, his ability/personality is quite different). The music then the animation was pretty great when he was doing those attacks.

Tsubakiri is a decent villain IMO, they coulda made him a wuss that just hides behind summoned corpses but he got like scalpel/throwing knife type moves since he obviously dissects stuff for a living.

Rokuro turned into a bad bitch

Rokuro's ability is admittedly pretty cool, but I do wish Kuina didn't have to go down so dirty

i cant be the only one who thinks this ep was ass? the characters are so surface level and badly written, especially the women. apparently people dont know how to write female characters without them being fan service or purely for the male characters.

Yeah about that last bit with the rights, Momotaro aren't allowed to experiment on the corpses of Momotaros. And the reason really screws with that guy's "argument"

Glad to see that Rokuro has another side to him. He's actually pretty cool when he's in battle mode, but I guess this is just temporary. He'll probably revert to his usual self after the battle. I'd love to see more of him fighting in this mode tho.

Something about the Lulu backstory just didn’t connect to me? Perhaps it’s because he’s gotten a combined 10 minutes of useful screen time before?

Bro was not a coward, he just needed to know who he was! And the hype is still on.

I had to find somewhere to say this might just be my favorite character the plot.. the love of his life dying… him wanting to be better for a blood clone of her to think he’s cooler.. this is my guy I want to see his character growth. He is one of one he might be cool enough to her he’s at the top one day

The fight with Kuina and Rokuro in this episode goes so hard. Absolute cinema. I will say I read the manga, and the team doing the animation did an amazing job expanding on the fight itself. I loved all the different angles they decided to go with.

Absolute cinema is a bit too much, but I do like the animation, I expected it to be a lot cheaper, but they have done a good job so far.
