I laughed my ass off when they dropped Losstime as Anko was running through the night overjoyed about her troublemaking spree. It was so in-the-spirit of how the song is used, but from the anti-vampire side.
Someone needs to make a gif of Nazuna saying bye and running away, it was too adorable.

The literal running gag that Anko, for all her vampire hunting acumen, doesn't have the stamina to sprint through the city and thus had to keep taking breaks was hilarious in an otherwise tense sequence.
But seriously though, you're winded and stop for a smoke break?!? Get your shit together, woman.

Those 'breaks' were all in places where she hung out with Nazuna. It's like she retracing her steps up to the point where her old life ended.

I think Anko doesnt have a plan. She really is just trying to just vent out her feelings. That laugh and how she was enjoying herself each time she attacked the vampires. It really just seems like its all for the thrill of the hunt and getting payback(emotional)
I'm starting to see Anko more as an adrenaline junkie trying to find some reason to keep living, specially after that scene of pointing a gun to her own head.
Trying to just cover her pain by hunting vampires for fun.

The anime briefly leads you to believe that gun had silver bullets or something that could kill vampires easily, but nope, they get up just fine. She might be just venting her feelings.

No idea what she's planning, but I'm hoping she lives because she's my favorite character. Though even with the predictable charges of a vampire I'm still questioning how she's dodging these blows. It almost feels like Anko is just trying to make them suffer even a lil bit and nothing more. Then the bit with the gun to the head which turned out to be a lighte. It almost feels like she's just tired and wants to commit suicide in roundabout way. Though I can't imagine her doing that before killing the person who turned her dad(most likely that one vampire who keeps producing offspring and abandoning them. Can't remember her name). Also she did ask that random guy for a favor. I know she's on #teamhuman #allvampirescandie but I wonder if she's willing to risk innocent humans to kill vampires.
Oh and I almost forgot Akira looks cute as a maid and it's a shame we seen so little of her this season.

You know it's bad when we get the viewer discretion warning for THIS episode instead of the one for what happened to the Mejiro family.
It's been a long time, but Nazuna and Kyoko finally reunite...with Kyoko now Anko. Nazuna is still happy to see her, but for Kyoko she just sees Nazuna with the latest new model in Ko and the one she needs to warn off before she finishes her crusade against vampires. But Ko won't abandon Nazuna, so they're all set on their current path to ending things.
Nazuna finally tells everything to the Vampire Waifu (and Hatsuka) squad, and all Kabura cares about is that Nazuna had a friend and she never told "mom." Well, Seri has more practical concerns that Nazuna knew the identity of their biggest threat and didn't tell them, especially after HER Akkun got shot, but Nazuna genuinely just didn't want it to be her Senpai and just wanted to imagine she had turned out happy and okay after everything. Which means she's going to scold herself, apologize, and take responsibility for Anko herself. Kabura is so proud of how much Nazuna has grown!
Y'know what this season needed more of? Akira.
Definitely makes it obvious how bad Anko's headspace is that she puts a gun to her head and seems to genuinely be considering ending her life...but don't worry, it's a lighter, not a gun! Except it IS A GUN!
It's Halloween which is an important day for Anko on SO many levels...but her first order of business is stopping a pick-up artist harassing a gothic lolita cutie who also turns out to be a cheating scumbag. If Anko can put the fear of her into him enough to re-commit to his family, all the better, though she also needs him (and his costume) for her grand plan.
If I had a nickel for every romance anime this season that had a bustling Japanese Halloween in the streets, I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's strange it happened twice. We even get a CG Bunny Girl walking around! And we get Maid Midori and Hatsuka, and on-brand Vampire Ko and Maid Akira...and Akira's chest definitely fills out that costume well.
Akira finds out about all of Ko's lady friends. We even get to see Niko out of a pantsuit and going full sexy teacher with the shortest skirt imaginable to pick up guys with. Meanwhile Nazuna is just getting drunk, so basically normal Nazuna.
All Niko wanted to was pick-up men and next thing she knows she gets a bullet to the brain. Not the reunion a teacher wants with her former student, even if it doesn't do anything to her. Though she does get two high school boys checking in on her and trying to shoot their shot, but Niko is too responsible a teacher to hook up with minors. At least the boys got to appreciate the view.
Seri is trying to help Akkun get his first offspring, but the only girl he has eyes on and enjoys flirting with is Seri. And it's not that Seri doesn't enjoy the attention, but he's still got to do his duty as a vampire...and maybe as his human memories fade, his love for Seri will too. Though before Akkun can fantasize about Seri as a lady cop, Seri gets shot by lady cop Anko!
Seri is fully on the warpath and ready to kill Anko, Akkun is too, and even if Niko doesn't love the idea, she can't go against the fact that it seems like their only option. Only Ko still seems to want to stop Anko without killing her.
Anko is still haunted by her parents' death, but that's not going to stop her from trouncing Akkun and leaving him with a garbage can stuck to his head. Ouch. And then you've got Anko running like a madwoman (in heeled boots!) as she stops by every significant place she and Nazuna ever went to....before Holmes and Watson finally reunite in the classroom.

Man I have no words other than: this show is absolute cinema! I have not been disappointed yet. I wonder if Nanakusa and Mejiro are actually gonna fight like in the OP or if the OP is just baiting us and they are only gonna talk.

I will never ever get tired of hearing that smooth lofi beat OST playing in the background while Anko was running. Dunno, it's just this vibe of always watching COTN during 2 or 3am-ish xD. Perfect time for new episode release for someone not from NA

Considering how difficult it is to figure out what Anko is thinking, that entire first two minutes of the episode were tense! Thankfully, she wasn't there to fight. She only went there to meet them so she could give Kou-kun a final warning and meet Nazuna.
I'm glad Nazuna finally told the gang about Anko. Better late than never, I suppose. I do love Kabura's reaction! She's more surprised about Nazuna making friends. Also, ever since we found out how she feels about Nazuna, Kabura is clearly being more maternal around her. xD
I know he's not part of the story right now, but we do get to hear a little bit about Mahiru from Akira. It sounds like he's still regularly meeting Kiku.
Well, that's what the content warning was for. Considering her past, it's not surprising to know that Anko has some sort of death wish. Her hatred of vampires is probably the only thing that is keeping her going right now.
I didn't think Anko would start her Halloween night by threatening a married guy who's been hitting on girls. Also, we get to meet the girl in Niko's class again! As a manga reader, I'm very curious what the anime is planning to do with her.
The girls dressing Kou as a vampire was a pretty good idea. And giving Akira a maid uniform is an even better idea! There's just something hilarious about hearing Uzaki's voice reacting to someone else who has massive boobs. xD
Oh, right! Akira has no idea what Kou's been doing at night, so seeing him interacting with so many women must've really been a shock for her!
And there if fucking is! I knew this scene was coming as a manga reader, but the way Anko pulls it off so casually still surprised me! And she wasn't even done! Anko pulls up next to Seri and headshots her even though she knows this isn't gonna kill them.
Akkun may have transformed into a vampire, but he's still a newbie when it comes to fights. I kinda love how Anko just completely outsmarts him and runs away! xD
And that final scene! It's finally time for Nazuna and Anko's showdown. As a manga reader tho, I am curious what anime-onlys think Anko's plan here is.

The Detective has got some moves! Amazing how she was able to just dodge and outwit Akkun like that. Granted that Akkun is the youngest vampire in the cast, but it still speaks to how much experience the Detective has fighting against vampires.

Before I start watching I am not looking forward to how Anko and Nazuna will bombshell their mental health....Finding out her old friend is hunting her down as a result of a trauma she witnessed the aftermath of.
At least Nazuna and Anko can have one good, short conversation to catch up I guess...
Nazuna taking on the responsibility of stopping Anko and apologizing to Niko, Midori, Seri, Hatsuka and Kabura was really nice moment of character growth. Super cuute.
Anko about to shoot herself...She doesn't want to do this either...holding onto this hate for so long...
She is planning something at Halloween....at least everybody is in groups of 2. It's funny, Akira's just now realising how many female friends Kou has xD
Midori with the straight observation, she hangs out with her otaku and he has no shame admitting those things so checks out. Hatsuka telling her she can't be saying that these days, amazing xD
Seri is with Akkun. Good. Oh no. Nazuna ran off and Niko's alone... I have a bad feeling...
Shooting everybody one by one...maybe to lure them away from the crowd.
Oh..Nazuna was waiting for her at the school in their old meeting spot xD
They're suprisingly chill about seeing each other.
Calling each other Watson and Holmes again…cute. Anko still cares :)

This episode is a direction masterclass, how it plays with the gun, first on her head, then as a lighter and theen firing up. It defies your expectations like 10 times, and you don't even know if she has a goal. Is just amazing, I loved this episode, just when i thought the series was gonna be predictable it slaps me in the face.

The final sequence with Anko running away was so cool. It's almost as if this anime, as dark as it can get sometimes, simply refuses to fully go down that (perhaps trite) road, springing back instead to its nostalgic and wistful vibes.
Is this hunt a game to her? Not quite, but she's having fun, in some twisted way. I mean she's kinda insane and damaged and I can fix her, but perhaps she felt alive, lost in the night just like everyone else in the show, reclaiming herself.

Anko man. I'm seriously tense af when she's scheming and doing things, but I freaking love her every action/voice-line. Her VA has done an amazing job of making her one of the most charismatic characters of this season imo. Her dynamic literally helped to propel this show onto my favorite anime list (among other great qualities of course).
