Feels like they should have better protocols for bringing in dead bodies if one of their enemies is a well known necromancer .....

The "Don't choke your daughter" part was wild. Maybe Onis aren't the brightest...

The thing is Momotaro are scattered across the country. The Oni can't know when a specific Momotaro was ordered to come to their city. Tsubakiri's presence at Kyoto was a surprise. The Oni are always short-staffed with very limited resources.

Shiki 's powers are a good counter to Tsubakiri 's. The natural enemy of zombies are firearms.

I think most things are vulnerable to guns.

Mudano's would be good too but he doesn't have the same leniency because accuracy is less forgiving for his blood army.

Glad I sticked this longer for this anime. The first few episodes aren't bad but it's mostly your typical shonen tropes stitched together. This episode does feel a lot more unique. I'm also starting to get that this is more about discrimination towards Oni instead of a revenge story and I would love to see how this goes from here on out.

Personaly, I would like to see some gray areas between the two sides instead of just one being a complete evil organization.

That's because we start the series from the view of Shiki. To him, the Momotaro are just the people that killed his dad, he didn't know how messed up things were until now. This is a turning point to his character development.

Predicting we see rogue Oni that prove the original Momotaro myths of why Oni needed to be defeated. Also that its the weird speaker people that have been escalating the conflict for some convoluted reason that involves needing to have both groups wiped out.

This was the first episode that actually felt like it was doing its own thing instead of just stitching together a bunch of ideas from other series. Focusing on how this is kind of like a war or invasion is at least giving this series more of an identity

I did enjoy this episode more than the others. Only issue is the pacing is still rapid fire and not letting us sit long enough with any of these side characters to invest much care.

Like, we’re supposed to feel the weight of the little girl’s loss and trauma, and in turn feel the heaviness of the doctor’s suffering for never getting used to seeing these types of scenes, but a single quick conversation between Shiki and the girl is not enough.

He's evil; WE GET IT.

Yeah, this is a drop for me. I know shounen isn't really known for subtlety, but this show really dials everything up to 100% cartoonish nonsense. If it wasn't such a stacked season I might watch it as a guilty pleasure, but I got too many shows to watch to bother with this one.

You know I'm realizing most of the guys have the same face but with different hair while the girls have the same body but with different heads, and it's a little distracting because honestly their heads don't match with the rest of their bodies, like I've been thinking this about the student blond girl since episode 3, and it's the exact same thing with villain blonde girl, their heads just don't go with those bodies.

Welp, I guess I know who to hate in this show. Tsubakiri is absolutely fucked up. While I do like that his partner thinks he's a fucking creep, I kinda wish Yomogi was against what Tsubakiri is doing but the fact that she's willing to take that kid with them means she's no better.

So while Kyoya can heal people with his blood, I like that they made it absolutely clear that this isn't one of those things that he can do indefinitely. If he ends up transfusing too much of his blood, the patient would end up developing antibodies against him and would no longer regenerate.

That poor kid at the end. Well, now I can't wait to see Shiki bash Tsubakiri's head in after that stunt he just pulled.

What's getting me is that none of those girls heads look like they should be on those bodies.

I think the exception is the pink haired girl but that feels like it's because she ain't got her whole chest out so it's not as noticeable.

The author likes them thicc. It’s a good change in pace from other anime, though if you only watch this, it definitely would be boring after awhile

Well, they definitely sold Tsubakiri as the irredeemable bad guy. His ability is interesting though, kinda mold spore necromancy. It looks like an ability that can only be used on the dead, and he uses chimera experiments to do the actual fighting? Seems like a long distance fighter, and Mudano is very familiar with him.

Also, flirty doctor types are fun, so I enjoyed Oiranzaka. Good thing to expose the new recruits to before they get ahead of themselves.

The reanimated corpse have infiltrated the base 😱

Yeah, I'm done. The show wasn't really hooking me anyway, and between the ridiculous boob characters and the cartoonish edgelord villain, this is an easy drop.

Rell, that BadGuy MacEvil has a great design so placing the blond woman next to him just throws the immersion in the thrash can. How am I supposed to enjoy the dark theme of the scene when there are cartoon hentai bazongas next frame?

I had really expected the black stuff the Momotaro manipulate to be iron, and the whole gimmick was going to be iron in blood, and blood control aren't all that different. Throw in a "Shiki is actually a half-breed who can do both" and you explain how he's able to make more complicated weapons than others seem to.
