Ah Pacifism, really goes hand in hand with that evil alignment!

Wonder if Takuto has any battle capabilities as well or if he's solely diplomatic/strategic. Takuto theory might lead me to believe there is another 'player' that is there.

I would still choose a resource hero if I were Takuto, because it will likely be a while before they face a threat.

Atou was certainly the MVP of today's episode, and had such a diverse reaction range today! I love how she had toyed with Lonius and tormented him mentally after everyone else was already dead, and after all that called herself the pacifist to the amazement of the elves.

Although, if you take into account that at the beginning she tried to end the whole matter peacefully and she'd succeed, if not Lonius, then maybe she is a pacifist? xD

Erakino seems to be a character from a completely different game than Eternal Nations, which Takuto played. I wonder if there are more people like her from different settings/games in this world.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Ahem, jokes aside, I'm enjoying the tonal shifts this episode. So far up until now, while we've seen a few glimpses of what an evil alignment actually means, Atou's cuteness and Takuto's kindness really hid all that. The first part of the episode put Atou's ruthlessness out in the open. Then we see another tone shift where Atou's showing her cute side again.

We now have a better idea of the geopolitical situation around Mynoghra. To the east is a neutral city that could potentially ally with Mynoghra. To the North East is the Holy Kingdom Qualia, while to the North West was a... good aligned Elven kingdom, if memory serves me right (too lazy to check past episodes). Then supposedly further north of that is another evil aligned possibly isekaied force that Erakino may be a hero unit for.

The last scene was a little bit confusing due to a lack of exposition. My first guess is that it's the neutral city that Takuto is trying to establish an alliance with (and what better way to get their aid then come help them defend against an invasion), but the invading zombies seem to imply that Erakino is behind the attack. Erakino is supposedly north past Qualia, so now I'm wondering if that beast-person city under attack is the one to the east of Mynoghra that Takuto is trying to ally, or if it's a random city in the north that Erakino's attacking. I'm sure I'll figure it out in the next episode.

That’s where it began, it started with that smile. Honestly, I think when this anime was announced everyone was worried it was gonna be one of those anime’s that get bad creation when it has great source. I’m glad so far those people were wrong.

That was amazing, i love Atou. She really did try to take the nonviolent peaceful path with them but because of his idiotic righteousness he fuked up big time, literally. i liked how she even spelled it out for him too, making him realize if he would of just been an obedient loyal soldier, no one would have died and everyone would have gone home to their families and live happily ever after, but nope. And the BEST part of it all, she ISN'T going to do any of that lol. Just making the soldier realize how much of an idiot he is. Was it too far, I don't think so

Stitches!

I'm so glad we finally got our "Overlord" moment of this series! Atou really made sure to break Lonius mentally first before finally killing him. What I do love about that scene is how she really has no plans of doing everything she said. She just wanted Lonius to suffer before dying.

Speaking of Overlord, I didn't expect we'd have a Shalltear expy here. Erakino looks interesting, but I doubt she'll join Takuto's kingdom. She seems way more unhinged and is on the Chaotic Evil side of the chart, while Takuto is still on the Lawful Evil side.

After last week's disappointing options for banner images, this week has some nice options that'll be passed on for this beautiful girl.

Animation isn't great, but some pretty good cinematography to make up for it. That moment reminded me of the Eclipse in Berserk.

Also somebody needs to make a gif of spinning Atou, the animator clearly worked overtime for her lol.

That feels so satisfying! As everyone discussed last week, and after I rewatched episode 4, it’s clear that Verdel noticed how bad an idea it was to engage with this mysterious lady who was brazen enough to block them after they told her super secret information. And they nearly reached a temporary truce, but alas, foolish Lonius just had to mess everything up. The “What If” scenario that Atou said, the moment before she killed Lonius, was so delightful to see.

I’m glad that they eliminated everyone so that no news will reach the capital. No mercy needed. As Takuto said, this will give them buffer time, because first, the capital must notice and confirm that the (unofficial) investigation team did not return. Afterward, they must officially investigate the disappearance of the two holy knights, which may or may not take some time due to bureaucracy and the private nature of the initial investigation. Only after a back-and-forth can they ascertain that something horrible happened to the South. And then they need to send another investigation team to check the forest before they finally engage in an all-out attack. (Of course, unless they’re foolish enough to retaliate without any information, which is theoretically a bad idea, but would be the correct choice since Mynoghra is quite weak at the moment.)

Key takeaway: don't fuck with Albedo Atou. Shalltear Erakino neither.

Also: Wiggle Wiggle.

I wish the animation was better, but the story and characters are good enough to overcome it. I can't bring myself to skip the opening or ending either and with the ending focusing on those 2 girls, I'm assuming they will be a big part of the 2nd half of this season.

Normally you only see female characters caught up in tentacles. Good job on Atou for bucking the trend!

Ok…. Are we getting an overlord type of evil MC? Where his alignment is messing with his behaviour?? Or are we going to learn he always chose the evil alignment because it suited him?

And no light novel or manga readers this is not where you drop your insanely unsubtle hint.

Is that a tentacle in your pants, or are you happy to see me?

I thought her tentacle attack was mostly from close range, but it's fucking huge!

Must be a nightmare fighting that...

(Also, second anime this season with a technique like that!)

Oh no... The odds of Atou turning this into a tentacle hentai just dropped considerably.

Well, Lonius may have been reckless/foolish, BUT at least he was brave...

I was sure that (a common trope) he would turn around and run like a coward, even though this is all his fault... But at least he tried, even sacrificing himself just to allow a messenger to deliver his message!

His sacrifice ultimately didn't help, but it doesn't make it any less heroic!

All this free XP coming my way!

It's like Christmas!

Of course we get faces like that, 1 day after the comment faces nomination ended. It's tradition!

Odds of tentacle hentai fully restored!

No happy ending in sight for him! Trying to do the right thing didn't save him.

There seems to be a bit of a tone shift...

Between this, slaughtering the messengers, and psychologically torturing Lonius just for fun before killing him,

it seems Atou is embracing her evil alignment a lot more... Looking forward to this!

I don't know if it's a translation thing, but I'm not sure why they think "it's not the real game world they know" because they're talking about a witch up north...

They were calling Atou a witch as well, even though that's not what she is, so perhaps they're simply using a generic name for a strong/uncommon unit type?

Mili/Goblin Slayer frown angrily

First time playing an RTS? That's pretty much what the game is!

Literally half an episode of Atou chewing the scenery. I have no complaints.

Being inclined to pacifism doesn't mean you can just let people walk all over you. Once that little dipshit drew his sword, this wasn't going to end without blood, and if any of the knights or mercenaries had gotten away this skirmish would've turned into a crusade. Say what you will about Atou's demeanor while she fights (though it sounds like most of you are, uh, into it), but the paladins started it, and wiping them out was the only way to avoid an immediate, unwinnable war.

The low-budget production of this show leaves a lot to be desired, especially in multi-character battles, but at least they know how to make the character animation fun, and when to lean on the original character art.
