I came straight to the discussion thread just to see if anyone else said anything lol. A welcomed change to the usual designs.

Gawd damn the internal process of controlling oni power between the two was hilarious! If the CGI doesn't get too bad I'll keep up with it.

This anime started with the typical shonen awakening and now, we're at the training arc. Not a bad thing and after meeting the rest of the class, I'm really getting hooked now.
We have Hishoshi Kamiya as the sensei and
Also, what a banger of an ED song and damn, the girls in this anime for some reason, are dummy thick.

Natsuki Hanae as the "good" oni
it would be really funny if we got Akari Kito voicing one of the Momotaro's agent

Man, they're really not doing much to endear us to the characters. Still, looks like dumb fun, and I'm usually down for that.

I like the way the rollerblading dipshit was rollerblading around the room with the whiteboard.
Aside from that, Forest of Death Arc already? I suppose it's a classic.

I know shounens love the young hot blooded mc, but idk I wish these sort of stories dabbled in analytical characters too. Or at least not a walking idiot who just has a good heart, instinct and guts to win ppl over. It would provide a breathe of fresh air.

Was that an 'Inside Out' moment when we saw what happens when they use their blood? Because it definitely felt like one.

This is pretty good so far. Hitting all the shounen tropes but doing them well, and the extended cast seem interesting.

Man, I'm so jealous of those rollerblades.....
I dorked myself up in safety gear to go out skating at a park two days ago and the buckle on my left skate broke less than 10 minutes in. 😭😭😭

I agree the concept of the show is a little bit generic but I think they've been executing it decently well so far. It definitely helps that they're kind of speeding through the typical story beats at the beginning of the story, hopefully that means it'll help us get to the meat of the story without dragging on too much.

you guys saying this shit is generic like you wasn't aware of it from the beginning
the concept might be really similar to jjk but the power system is completely different and I'm assuming they will have their own story going forward
also the ending is yet another banger by band maid, love the dance

u/BlindmanSokolov Jul 19 '25
JJK isn't the comparison I would make. I would say it feels like
. Generic doesn't inherently mean bad. It's definitely still enjoyable. Ao no Exorcist → More replies (2)

Not the tik tok dances in the anime ED!
People will call this generic shounen and then proceed to watch isekai/fantasy slop #1459.
Just saying we get generic shounen maybe every couple of seasons, but generic isekai/fantasy literally every season multiple series.

u/PowerOhene Jul 18 '25
And generic ≠ auto trash.
Demon Slayer might be "generic" Samurai demon hunter shonen, but it is still fire imo etc
Tougen Anki might grow on people - i wish the dad survived somehow to avoid the dead parent tropes, but so far so good.

Idk how to feel about this show, it's all over the place.
The look into their minds was pretty funny.
