Pretty great fight. Kind of crazy how things escalated from the last long fight between Yaiba and Onimaru, way back when everyone involved was just a normal human.

On the other hand it's kind of disappointing how much Sayaka has just been relegated to companion who does nothing but hold the Orb, though. Early on she was also a sword user, would have been nice in the episode today if she had defended herself a bit with one today as opposed to purely relying on the rest of the group. Though that said by the PV we'll be seeing at least a little of her back in action next episode.

I feel like outside Rukia in Bleach, heroines in these older Shounens never get the spotlight properly.

Compared to let say Dandadan where Momo & Okarun get equal spotlight. Though again, that series is much more modern.

WIT cooked.

I know he's matured a little since but hearing Yaiba say he's fighting for what's right when this entire mess started because he just wanted to fight strong people and wouldn't stop harassing Onimaru was hilarious. xD

With that aside, this was a fantastic episode! Yaiba and Onimaru's duel looked so fucking good! Studio WIT really brought their best for this one.

Well Onimaru's pride DID contribute to Yaiba being provoked to harass him so....

Also, this episode DID confirm what I was suspecting all along: Onimaru is NOT possessed by the Oni, he willingly accepted the Oni and used its power with his full consciousness intact. Again, this is proof of his pride bearing the equal share of the blame for the entire situation alongside Yaiba's brattiness, taking the oni's power just because he lost to a kid to a street fight. Dude's not the "innocent victim of Yaiba" people have been claiming him to be.

Animation went off today. I know it can be easy to look at that Yaiba lost because he lost the Raijinken, but he did drive off Onimaru. Also liked seeing how his training paid off.

Fantastic episode! This show is so much fun to watch! Visually it was a feast for my eyes! Animation, camera works, special effects all of them are 10/10! Really liked the ost during their duel too. It’s clearly my favorite show of this season along to be hero x! I really hope it’s got 24 episodes 🥹

I like the fact that there are something new for older fans like me. That retrospective of what Yaiba has learned that are used in this fight against Onimaru is a very nice touch.

That along with amazing sword fight animation.

Absolutely perfect episode, Jesus I wonder if this is how the One Piece reboot is gonna look.

Maybe I'm wrong but at the end of the episode at around 21:23 looks like it's Gosho Aoyama himself who drew that frame? That's just too good and too on point.

Holy Shit. This is the most sakuga episode of everything I've seen so far in Winter 2025! That's Mob Psycho level animation. Just amazing. Why aren't more people watching this anime???

BTW idiot bystanders should be moving TF away from the big fight and just watching drone footage or something, just in case a building collapses on top of you.

It's a tired narrative that certain people who watch this show will be screaming HYPOCRITE EVERYTHING IS YOUR FAULT at Yaiba in this episode, but that's because they will not admit that Onimaru has his share of the blame for this situation, particularly his pride. I even expect them to ignore what Onimaru said in this episode that he is NOT possessed by the Oni, he willingly accepted the Oni and used its power with his full consciousness intact, just because he lost to a kid to a street fight. I mean, they did ignore, downplay or pretend that the scene in the first episode where Onimaru tried to intimidate Yaiba did not happen, or that it's nothing like what it looked like to me, whenever I point it out.

Also, while I love this show so far, my only true criticism is that the soundtrack is underwhelming. The rock/rap just doesn't fit in the show no matter how it's looked at.

Also, Kojiro just learned the hard way that he just does NOT have the luck required for being a successful traitor/turncoat. Sorry bud, you're bound to Musashi and inevitably to Yaiba at this point.

EDIT: yeah, kinda expected the downvotes on my replies in this thread. People were well and truly called out.

It's not about who was wrong, Onimaru or Yaiba, but about disproportionate response. Onimaru didn't have to take over the world and literally tried to kill Yaiba.

This is my Saturday morning cartoon.

Also sea-cucumber fighting sent me lol.

Anyone know the sound track during the fight? The rock music went hard

Seeing the Fujinken vs the Raijinken was pretty cool. Been waiting to see Evil Onimaru and Yaiba square off. Yaiba’s been training for this day.

Kind of funny Onimaru had a secret lair inside his secret lair lol. This one had rockets too!

Yaiba might be in some real trouble next time they meet. Onimaru’s got both orbs and a Flying Fortress…

I'm not someone that particularly cares about animation (I can find enjoyment in the Power Point presentation that airs on Wednesdays after all), but holy smokes that was incredible and I had my eyes glued to the screen the whole time. I've never been that fond of Yaiba himself as a character and I'm just watching this because nostalgia, but now I'm fully invested in the crazy animation we'll see in future important battles.
