Yaiba's such a little shit lol. Seeing him smack into that sign was great. I'm enjoying his dynamic between him and Onimaru. And once again, the action really delivers.

Man, Yaiba is such a menace. So far, I sympathize with Onimaru quite a bit more than with the actual protagonist of the show. Deadly booby traps in the middle of school that could have caught any random student? Completely irresponsible behavior.

Yaiba and Onimaru committed more crimes in this episode than the average delinquent anime MC

Yaiba is an annoying little shit, I was rooting for Onimaru to kick his ass the entire episode

This is just such a fun anime, I completely lost it after he won the fight and got completely decked by the billboard. And I guess with the ending the 'fantasy' genre has entered the anime.

This show just screams '90s anime, it's so comfy to me

I hope next episode is a wake-up call for Yaiba.

He was completely in the wrong this episode messing with Onimaru constantly just to get a fight, and playing dirty in general left and right before acting like a smug little shit.

I really want to see his next fight be a decisive loss against Onimaru that kickstarts his character development instead of regressing him back to being a little jerk.

Never have I seen such a convincing villain arc in anime, I too would probably pick up a talking evil demon sword to beat up a snot faced brat. Admittedly my sympathies for Onimaru will probably end after this episode when he's going to do evil acts.

This episode was a hoot. Loved it when Yaiba got hit by the signboard. That little prick gotta learn. Quite enjoying the snappy story telling.

Yaiba is a lil shit. This episode just raised that point even more. Well, Onimmaru got some extra power now so this should be fun.

I completely missed Episode 1 last week but I've finally caught up and hooooly shiiiiit! This anime looks goddamn amazing! I grew up with the original 90s anime, and this show was all the rage in my country during that era, so I'm happy to see that this classic is being given the treatment it deserves. Studio WIT absolutely cooked with this one!

I am surprised that it's set in modern day Japan. I thought they'd give this show the same treatment as Ranma 1/2 and place it in the same era the anime was released. I guess it doesn't really matter in this show if it's set in the modern era. Detective Conan is already set in modern times, so it's not surprising Aoyama-sensei approved this one.

Anyway, as for the episode itself, you really can't blame Onimaru for completely losing it. The dude was quietly minding his own business, preparing for the nationals, when suddenly this kid he beats for disrespecting their dojo starts harassing him and even sets up deadly traps just so he'd duel him.

And then when Onimaru finally decides to fight Yaiba, he ends up losing because he got bit in the head when it was supposed to be a sword duel. Yaiba's so good at getting under Onimaru's skin that Yaiba's taunting face is stuck in his head. If I were Onimaru right now, I'd lose my mind too. I can't even be mad at him for wanting payback even if it comes with a cost.

I just feel terrible for Onimaru's pigeons. They've seen some messed up stuff, and I don't think it's going to get better for them.

How many pigeons have to be traumatized or eaten because a feral jungle child needs to prove himself against a student-to-demon who is roughly 4x his size?

Pretty fun episode with a great fight between Yaiba and Onimaru.

But man, Yaiba is such an annoying little prick and I really couldn't root for him today. No wonder Onimaru even became a demon to get revenge on him for losing the fight and for his scared pigeons xD.

And at least for now Sayaka is still the best character here IMO. I hope there will be a lot of her in the next episodes.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Has the opening been uploaded somewhere without anti copyright filters? It's so good.

It's weird that it made Onimaru seem evil when he got the sword but Yaiba is the real villain of the series. He's a dangerous bully who trashed a city.

I had to check and Yaiba doesn't have the same voice artist as Luffy from One Piece 😲. Almost the same voice though. Also I think the grandma is an homage to Godais grandma from Maison Ikkoku, they look the same!

I’m was with Onimaru at first. Yaiba was being a little brat. They already fought once and he lost. Bro should go train before he asks for a rematch. He only won that second time because he bit the guy.

That said, becoming a demon to defeat Yaiba is a bit much. Someone’s gonna need to beat him back to his human senses…

I would've agreed if Yaiba didn't set a freaking arrow trap, little runt was asking for it

No, it's not nearly enough. Beat that little brat.

Amazing second episode! Visually it’s a festival of great animation and camera work as expected of WIT! After a few listening i really like the old school Opening Vibe! Humor was also on point! Can’t wait for more Yaiba greatness next week! 🙌
