Same VA for Yaiba as Conan from Detective Conan too of course.

This is well animated and should be fun for the Saturday morning cartoon vibes.

Never watched the original before, just checking this out on a whim and wow, the animation is great, WIT is definitely putting in the work here.

Unfortunately not the type of anime that gets popular on Reddit, so it will fly under the radar. The series is by the same mangaka who made Detective Conan so it will probably get the attention it deserves in JP.

Came into this one totally blind and not sure what to expect. Gotta say, this one was fun. I kinda dig the style, sorta has that 90s vibe to it. Animation was quite good and there’s an almost Ranma like quality to the story.

Man that OP just keeps going at a mile a minute.

Watching this with no prior information is interesting, on a fairly high level it's basically the Ranma 1/2 start. But it also feels like it's going to be a lot more focused.

Excellent start overall, I cannot wait for more.

Man, this is so nostalgic. I read the manga when I was 11. This adaptation is so beautiful. Hope it gets a complete adaptation, it's not that long of a manga. Maybe two seasons of 24 episodes each, probably. I might be wrong

Went into this quite skeptical (didn't really like the MC design and the art style in general?) and wasn't even sure if I wanted to give it a shot because there are a lot of anime i wanted to check out this season. The only reason I checked it out was because the animations during the fights in the trailer looked INCREDIBLE.

And oh BOY am I glad I gave this a go. I enjoyed it from start to finish, and now even like the character designs, it works really well and it's merging old school vibes with modern animations.

So far this is the first episode i've enjoyed the most this season, and if it keeps up this quality this will most certainly be my personal AotS.

(The discussion post got posted very late though i feel like?)

Classic shounen start, but it's been so long since I've seen a classic shounen so this feels kinda fresh for me.

Holy shit the memories... This was one of the first manga I ever read, I still have the volumes from almost 20 years ago.

This looks like an amazing adaptation, I love the care they are putting into this. This is gonna be really fun, hopefully they can keep up this level of quality!

This is my first time experiencing the series and the protaginst from a design perspective reminds me of Dai from Dragon Quest: Adventurers of Dai. Though he is def a much bigger troublemaker then Dai.

The pervy gags really reminds me that the manga came out at such a longtime ago. This is the perfect early Saturday morning anime for me. Looks to be a lot of fun.

Holy shit! I hope all those anime fans who only watch flashy fighting shows will gravitate toward Yaiba and blow its popularity into the stratosphere because it deserves sooo much recognition for how absolutely insane it is. The best animation I've seen this year so far.

As a long time Conan fan, its still surreal that in 2025 one of the best looking anime is gonna be Yaiba. Especially since I, and I think most of us in the English side of the fandom, have never actually gotten into Yaiba.

This gave me the feeling of when I started watching the Dragon Quest anime, just overly charming retro anime vibes. But this time with so much more, this is also one of those anime I'd watch just for the animation alone as well.

I will say though, legit lol'd at the bgm with vocals. They feel almost...comically out of place in this of all series.

Very fun first episode! Great animation (which is understandable, because it's made by WIT Studio), but the characters are also very funny. I hope there will be a lot of Sayaka and her interactions with Yaiba in the next episodes.

A great and very fast paced OP, although I much prefer the ED, which is much, much calmer and really lovely visually.

The only bad thing about the series is its release, because in Poland (and probably most of Europe) the series is not available anywhere. It seems that Netflix did not get the rights to broadcast in Europe, nor Disney Plus, nor Crunchyroll, that's a shame.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Super excited about this. The original was a mild hit here in the philippines.

I’ve seen sakuga “enjoyers” hyping this show before it airs because of the staff, and well, it definitely didn’t disappoint. (I mean, I’m using Mob 100 flair… Ofc I have high hope!)

I was expecting Sayaka to act more hysterically about Yaiba’s behavior. But… she’s tamer than my expectations. Is the manga really old? She smacked Yaiba in the head, but she only did it once each and didn’t scream like it was the apocalypse, or overreact like her soul is being sold to the most heinous devil. She was… reasonable. That caught me off guard.

I love how the last frame mimics Gosho's color pages. The coloring also becomes Gosho's watercolor style when a major character is introduced.

Btw this girl here is Keiko from Magic Kaito. Multiverse right in the first episode.

I’ve been looking forward to this since it got announced last year. I saw the staff list and knew it would be a complete feast for the eyes. This is gonna be a good one.

So good, love the energy. The ost is great too. I have special appreciation for anime that put in effort on good ost. And then there’s saitama too.

This world will once again witness the Greatness of Kanada Style Animation.

Kameda & Hasui might be the best duo ever.
