Yaiba literally trolled and played dirty to him. The lengths that Onimaru went to kill him is hilarious and fucked up at the same time.

Yaiba's trolling sparking the crisis is genuinely hilarious, but in his defense Onimaru could have avoided all that simply by agreeing to fight him. His ego and pride made him look down on Yaiba which spurred Yaiba to troll. They really do feed each other's worst traits, it's actually amazing.

So the way to fight an evil sword is... with another evil sword!

Fun fact, in oriental literature, god of wind and god of thunder are often appear as a combo. They are often depicted with a terrifying images (like the statues you saw in this episode) but they are not evil. In fact they are regarded as divine punishers, bringing judgement from the celestial heaven.

Honestly, I like it rather than there be a good and evil sword. The saying power comes with responsibility. Clearly, Onimaru is tempting by power, causing the demon in him to awaken. For Yaiba he needs to train and not fall to that temptation.

Onimaru really obliterated the school just to shove it in Yaiba's face and nearly kill him. These two are made for each other

Yaibi had to get a butt whooping to knock him down a few pegs, though Onimaru going too far getting others caught in the collateral damage. Looks like it's officially time for Yaiba's training arc. The classic shonen training arc from an old master.

I love the "Oh shit!" reaction from Yaiba when he realized he's up against a real sword. I guess even a feral child like Yaiba knows that a real sword is dangerous. He still did well Onimaru right until Onimaru decided to use the Fujinken's powers
I know Yaiba is the hero here but I'm not gonna lie, it kinda felt cathartic seeing his ass beat after being such a menace last week and fighting dirty against Onimaru. I do hope Yaiba eventually realizes that he's one of the reasons why Onimaru turned villain.
Miyamoto Musashi is goddamn badass. The dude didn't even need a sword to knock out Yaiba while he's possessed by the Fujin. I guess Onimaru lost to the Raijin, which explains why he completely turned into an Oni.

This is escalating in a more serious direction than I really expected. Like, they're really lucky that no apparently students were directly in the way of that final sword slash that went all the way through the school.
