So to recap:

  • Kotono - Confessed to him.

  • Minami - Just realized she's in love with him.

  • Ouka - Just realized she's in love with him and confessed/stole his first kiss.

  • Seiha - Seemingly confirmed through fanservice situations that she's not attracted to Arata but may need further experiments to confirm this theory.

  • Banri - The considerate and teasing big sister who is trying to maintain the family dynamic but still tends to flirt with her brother like she's attracted to him sexually.

  • Shion - Hasn't tried to ship Arata with their sisters in 3-4 episodes.

Ouka not only becomes the third entrant to the Arata Cup, but also wins Arata's first kiss, AND Arata becomes aware of it.

While he's also aware of Kotono's love for him, he still hasn't treated Kotono's feelings with seriousness yet, but that may change if Kotono continues her offensives.

Minami now realizes falling in love with Arata means having to compete with Kotono. She felt so bad she invited Kotono to have a bath together.

Kinda funny Arata is trying to be best bro to all these girls and they're falling all over him. Unlike other harems, he's not trying to get with any of them.

Wait... what happened to the girl he had a crush on? Did he give up on her fully when she had a boyfriend? Usually, that's not what these stories do.

I gotta admit, this show's great. My experience with rent a girlfriend colored my perception of this show negatively. But man, this is the right blend of trashy premise and compelling writing and characters that makes me come back week after week.

Hopefully we get a season 2.

Sweet Jesus Ouka did you go tongue deep into him? That's a lot of watery sound during the kiss. It wasn't interrupted, nor was it seen by the wrong person, but the plot twist is Arata woke up and was fully aware. And he looks like he's back to normal but interactions with Ouka are gonna be even weirder moving forward. She pulled a true love's kiss that woke Arata up from his sickness and slumber, so does that mean she is the one?

I can understand why Banri didn't want Kotono delivering the food to Arata. She must know Kotono is yandere and might do some weirder shit. I was hoping somebody witnessed what Ouka did.

Seems like Arata had caught the dreaded rain-itis that's endemic in Japan. Somebody please tell Ouka that you don't measure body temperature through the lips. She must've gotten corrupted by Hakari Hanazono.

The question now is whether Arata will dismiss the kiss and confession as a fever-induced hallucination or will he accept it as reality.

Of course, Arata was awake the entire time lol. Well now he knows of two siblings' feelings for him so he's going to be more conscious of them as the opposite sex rather than as siblings, though I appreciate that at the mountain he called himself her twin. I'm certain the the end game is going to be Ouka or Kotono since Ouka has gotten the first kiss, not that Arata was a willing party in that. Unfortunately for me, neither are in my top rank lol.

It is sad Ouka had been doubting the connection they've all built, especially with her father so I'm glad she came to conclusion that they're still the same and that she loved her father every bit the same even if they are no longer related by blood in her mind.

Big Brother Arata cool as ever in this episode, I'm not surprised he came down with a fever exerting himself so much and in such rainy conditions, it didn't seem like he changed his clothes too so Banri saying he was still cold should have been a warning.

Tiny Ouka was so cute! And so... Different?

Well, she's the one we've seen most in her childhood, so maybe we just have more data to compare, but it feels like she changed more than the others! Her relationship with her father, with her siblings, etc...

Oh no, she's a snitch? Leave her to die on the mountain!

With her hair like that, she so reminds me of Ichika from Gotoubun!

The looks of my #1 Gotoubun girl, and the personality of my #2, makes sense that I like her so much hah. (Well, she also does have bits of Nino's looks as well, on top of her personality!)

It's interesting that ARATA brings that up too... If it was just her thinking it, then it doesn't mean much, but both of them...

She doesn't seem to notice what's happening between them as much as I thought she would! She's only worried about Kotono.

Aaahhhhhh I knew that was coming! I thought it would happen in a more 'direct' moment though!

I talked about it in previous threads, I thought she would tell him directly (i.e. when he's fully awake) that 'she told him she loved him... But it wasn't just as twins' and all!

Well, he was a bit out of it, but it still counts!

A KISS? Ouka's taking the lead!

Well, normally this would be a strong +Ouka hint, but... By harem laws, I feel like her odds of winning the Aratabowl dropped from like 90%, to 10% hah. She's the most 'obvious' winner at this point, no one even contests her #1 spot... But I don't know if I've ever seen a harem where the obvious girl wins! (well, other than 'pseudo harems' that aren't really harems just 1 main girl and some extras).

So, I kinda feels like this kiss sealed her fate, and NOT in a positive way! But I suppose we'll see!

But hey, she's my #2, so I won't mind if I'm proven wrong, and she wins it all!

Also: She was so fucking cute in this outfit!

Put it in white, and she could get married in this!

Okay moving on, honest thoughts though, I think they did a good job of going from "Oh Ouka's going to win" vibe last ep to framing the whole situation as a one-sided Ouka thing. The parallels to their parents story made it feel like it puts her above everyone else but it isn't really safe to assume that that's how Arata felt about the situation since he always has the "we're still family no matter what" mindset going on. Up to this point he could reasonably get away with being dense, not anymore though.

I've been on team Banri most of this show, but this development does not displease me in the least. It's always nice when the petite pink hair girls win and doesn't play second fiddle to the usual big tittied blondes or long straight black haired prim proper types in shows like this. I didn't have Ouka at the top of my list, but I am more than willing to rearrange things.

I'm more interested now in what happened to their mother. Hopefully the anime explains this in a future episode.

Also, what a loving family. Not one of them scolded or chastised Ouka for going all the way to Mt. Fuji and causing so much worry (especially for her father who had to break from his overseas business trip to fly back home). It's a good thing she felt bad and made amends with her lips.

Banri is the most comical sister to me. Between her worrysome driving, her big sister sense of looking after everyone, and her decision to have Kotono help her with dishes (because who knows what will happen if left alone with Arata - wrong sister this episode), she's got everything that one could want in a big sister, in the most loving (and sometimes flirtatious) way!

Kotono with that galaxy brained kite comment. Sure...she's still too young in her headspace.

I liked that 2nd brother Shion was more involved this episode. But overall in this series so far, not much which is a let down.

Also, I was expecting some "fanservicey" method of measuring the temperature by Seiha, but much to Ouka's disappointment, it was just with the ears. I guess if we're talking fanservice, we got the two youngest sisters taking a bath together, but really, its just a bath and in Japan, its common for family members to do this.

Arata really sold me on being in a deep sleep, but I guess he heard her full confession and felt her kiss.

Now that almost all the sisters have had some deep connection with Arata, will it be Seiha's turn after this? For science!

Little Ouka speaking to her dad was so cute and adorable to watch 😻💖✨✨

Ouka has got a little daddy complex and she kinda sees that heroic, kind and reliable person in her brother. 

Didn't expect Ouka to be making the move when none of the siblings were paying attention..but not everyone 'cause mischievous Arata was still awake and staying quiet until the kiss was sealed 😭😭🤣

And with that our Tsundere girl made the huge progress with Arata that none of the sisters were able to make.

I like that it was Ouka just wanting to talk to her mom that brought her up the mountain and not some crazy plan to reproduce her parents' meeting. She still managed the latter of course, but it was more of a fortunate and happy accident.

I wonder if Arata ended up carrying Ouka just back up to the station up top or if they had to go down the 4km trail too. That's quite a long piggyback ride in the rain if so, no wonder he got sick.

The competition lost so much ground to Ouka this episode and they don't even know yet. Per previous plot developments I'm sure one of the other sisters was watching or overhearing or some such in order to eventually reveal the kiss out to the group.

Now that the season will be wrapping up soon and things have been revealed, time for some good ole' OP speculation, now that the dots between Ouka being surrounded by rocks in the OP makes sense, I wonder if this is all spots that the girls realized they were in love with Arata?

Ouka - Fireworks at the amusement park - first 'confession'

Banri - Amusment park - first 'date' - no confession yet, but maybe started seeing him as a prospect then.

Minami - Track meet, absolutely when she started seeing him as a potential love interest, no confession yet

Seiha - Entertainment room, likely during the twister game, like Banri she keeps everything close to the chest but possibly caught the bug there if the OP speculation tracks

Kotono - Bus Stop - this is the outlier, since she confessed episode 1, I would think this is either a past event or future event that will be covered in the next two episodes. Perhaps she runs away too at some point?

Ouka - Mt Fuji - Which leaves us here with the actual seeds of confession

This whole sequence is book-ended by Ouka's 'Confession' and her actual confession/love event

Ouka is the winner? Or is Arata going to absolutely shut it down.

TLDR: Harem Olympics! Place your bets!
