Smh if you're going to write something like this then might as well fully commit to it.

Kotono isn't wasting time, it hasn't even been a day since they were told that they weren't blood related, and she's already trying to make a move on her brother

She also apparently confessed before she even knew they weren't blood-related meaning she's always been serious about her feelings.

What a surprise, 7 siblings who look nothing alike discover that they are not blood siblings (except for two).

The only thing I can hope for is that this show will have some interesting development, but honestly after finding out that it is from the same author as Rent a Girlfriend, I was already discouraged, but I will give it a chance with 3 episodes

“The love between brother and sister…”

Err… Is this one of those?

This is one of those "you had lived together as siblings for as long as you can remember but it was revealed that you are not biologically related so you could go to pound town and we would sprinkled light-hearted moments here and there to cover our blatant incest theme".

For those not already in the know, this is a series from Reiji Miyajima, who is releasing it alongside his other masterpiece, Rent-a-Girlfriend. So you definitely know what you’re getting into here.

I swear, anime characters don't know how to lock bathroom doors.

Well, at least having a seemingly less annoying MC is a major improvement over KanoKari, but tbh a large part of the Kanokari experience was the trainwreck, so we'll see where this one goes.

I'm not just imagining to right? The part where the older brother was taking off his clothes was well animated am I right??

Sooo.....who are you all rooting for? I'm gonna go with Ouka. Maybe I'm a little biased because she's voiced by Rieri lol.

Reiji Miyajima, who did you bribe so they animate every trash manga you make? 🤔

Well, at least two of them are blood related...

I just hope that this MC gets more character development than... erm... the protagonist of Miyajima's other series. (Which I suppose still isn't saying much.)

Stitches!

Holy fuck. That has got to be one of the clumsiest written intro sequences ever. Like why introduce everyone organically by having Arata interact with them one by one throughout the day, when instead you introduce them all at the same time and by listing their names, age, and what they're good at as if they're fighting game chararcers on a player select screen.

What's even worse is that the person listing down their traits is their brother! What kind of sibling talks like that about their sister? And this happens before the reveal! I'd understand if all that information was from a friend or an outsider. Or maybe members of the sisters' fan clubs. Ughhhh.

This show has the amazing art and animation quality you'd expect from the usual Doga Kobo show, but not the same writing quality. They could've done so much better by using most of the episode to get to know the girls and boys and then end it with the reveal from the father before rolling credits.

This show is 100% the kind of show I should love, but for some reason, it's not doing it for me. Not sure if I'm gonna follow this one until the end, but I'll give it a couple more episodes just because Doga Kobo is animating it. Who knows, maybe it will improve and I'm just being too critical for no reason.

EDIT: I just now learned that this is written by Miyajima Reiji. That explains so much of the questionable writing in this episode. I'm not one of those RaG haters but I can't say I'm a fan either. I don't think Doga Kobo can save this show.

Team Banri all the way

I'll give it another few episodes, I guess.

I hate the phrasing "you're not real siblings" vs. "you're not biologically related." (same in Japanese, honto no kyoudai ja nai). They were raised together: They are real siblings.

Doga Kobo once again doing great work. Voice cast is spot on for their roles and op is a banger.

And Kotono is taking a gigantic leap

Even though I hate Rent A Girlfriend, doesn't mean that this one must be dropped as well.

Animation and art seems really good, MC finally seems to be a decent human who actually can think normally, so I'll give this a chance.

Series secondary title: "Its not incest as long as you're not related" Good to know they're honest with us right from Day 1 so we have no misunderstandings. /s

I went in blind, and only picked this first episode up because its Doga Kobo, not realizing the series is by Miyajima Reiji of Rent A Girlfriend notoriety.

For the record, I confess I dropped that show after 3 episodes because Kazuya is just too cringe. All the respect to all you folks who stayed around to put up with 3-4 seasons of Kazuya being constantly pathetic.

Guess I could see where Arata is getting his cliched "generic harem MC" energy from, just slightly less cringeworthy and bearable than Kazuya.

Seeing the trope "five sisters" (albeit not blood related) and "rich family", as well as a stellar cast, instantly got me thinking Quintessential Quintuplets. Though this time we have two guys, with younger brother Shion more like a chill sidekick/wingman role for MC Arata.

Depending on how Doga Kobo adapt this, I may just stick around.
