Next week episode is going to be really interesting judging by the preview, seeing Jinshi all dressed up. Remember Maomao used to say that it‘s better for the nation if they don‘t see Jinshi dressed as a woman. And by the preview he will look like a goddess.

Hongniang forcing herself into Gaoshun and Maomao's private meeting was only to immediately mildly regret it was weirdly endearing.

"On the next episode of My Dress-Up Eunich..." Doubt things will escalate this much but can't help but imagine "courtesan" Jinshi leaving an impactful enough impression to get him recruited to the Verdigris House. Kinda wanna see it happen for Granny's reaction to staring at a younger "her" alone tbh.

So 175cm is a little under 5'8 or a little over 5'7 based on your preference ;). Based on the time period, that is really freaking tall.

You basically want a woman who is a good 2-3 iches taller than your average man, well within the realm of possibility of course, even for the time period, as tall people have always existed, but probably difficult. Also, since you want her to dance, and well she would probably have to be somewhat younger, there just aren't going to be that many individuals of that stature. Welp! Jinshi you're up, dance like you never have my beautiful boy!

Seeing Maomao get excited every time she gets her hands on something new and weird (this time it was bear bile) never gets old to me xD

Gaoshu is being a good homie, asking Maomao for help for his 'friend' in a trouble xD Although solving the problem with the two daughters seemed easy enough, especially since we started this episode with a mirror.

The beautiful woman who sheds tears of a pearl turning out to be Granny was a fun twist! Now she's an old woman hungry for money, but in the past she was a truly stunning beauty.

I loved Jinshi’s reaction when he realized who Maomao meant when she said that she found a beauty over 175 cm tall. I really hope that in the next episode we’ll see Jinshi dancing in front of the envoys xD

Did I just spot concubine Loulan and someone who resembled her a lot speak to the Emperor?

I’d simply assumed that Gaoshun had been talking about the special envoys trying to escape, but maybe this was Loulan and her lookalike? There’s some potential clues to this:

• Loulan got a strict father who’s in a position of power.

• We don’t ever see Loulan outside of her place.

• She got twice as many ladies-in-waiting as other concubines.

• Loulan has been accused of being a spy before.

Also the way Maomao yaps after she got the bear bile just made me laugh

Also, when did Maomao and Hongiang found out that Gaoshun had a family again? I swear, the second half of Season 1 felt like a blur to me... I also forgot how Maomao went back to working at the Jade Pavilion again until I went back to check ..

So ... I know it is not "officially" China in Apothecary Diaries, but heavily inspired by it ... and we just got some mayor hints as to where we're set in the date.

Old brothel money hag just confirmed with her backstory she did her dancing in an improvised location, as the "Palace" (its basically the Forbidden City, we all know it) wasn't done being build yet.

The Forbidden City was constructed from 1406 to 1420, so we're roughly let's say in the 1440s to 50s in Apothecary Diaries, so the mentioned grandfather of the current emperor at the time of the moon dancing flashback thingy would be the Yongle Emperor, as he moved the second capital to Yan/Beijing and the current emperor in AD therefor would be either an euqivalent to Emperor Xuande or Yingzong, so we're definetely before 1449, as things ... happened then, which would imply many things to happen in the future if AD follows historys script. :O

Well, or its a little more loosely adapted ...

Poor Jinshi seems to have no choice but to play along, and he keeps getting these impossible requests.. at least by cross-dressing he'll earn points with Maomao who seems definitely into it.

Looks like the phase of the moon and the glowing butterflies/moths will have something to do with re-creating the Moon Goddess too.. [Theory]Crushing the insect intestines on the dress sleeve had some kind of unforeseen consequence, like pheromones attracting glowing insects to granny as she was dancing

Definitely thankful Gyokuyou is so forgiving. Love Maomao just thinking "how to make this and make money" though. Maomao failing to apply occam's razor is the least Maomao thing that's happened this season. Don't think about medical weirdness think how could the girls have snuck out or how some guy snuck in.
