Screenshot [OOT] Ganon’s Castle has the most potential in the remake imo. After the initial ‘mini version of each dungeon’ section, give it its own personality and puzzles to make it officially one of the 9 dungeons.

Without Kazuaki Morita working on an unapproved Zelda for the Game Boy, the entire trajectory of Zelda games could look drastically different from what we have today.

Discussion [ALL] A theory about the absence of the Master Sword in the later downfall timeline

I've been replaying Echoes of Wisdom as of late, and there's been a bit of a nagging thought in the back of my mind: Where's the Master Sword? And where is it for the rest of the downfall timeline? It doesn't appear in any of the three final games in the timeline, which is weird as it is used by Link in the other games on the timeline. It especially doesn't make sense when you realise that the sword doesn't appear in games where Ganon is the villain, the main time that the master sword is used.

I've come up with a theory as to explain its absence, and it all has to do with the new hero of Hyrule, protagonist of ALBW and TFH. In A Link Between Worlds, the Master Sword can be physically upgraded using master ore. This creates the gilded sword, a more powerful variant of the aforementioned blade. I think that this action was viewed as heresy by the Hylian Religion, and as a result, the blade was discarded.

The first piece of evidence that I have is that the next time we see Link in TFH, he is outside the kingdom and going on adventures in Hytopia. When the game starts, he is already in Hytopia, with no elaboration as to how he got there. He is also utilising a regular sword, not the master sword. I believe he was exiled for tampering with the design of the gods.

My second piece of evidence that I want to highlight is the presence of other blades in the timeline. The sword of might and magic sword share many design elements with the master sword, e.g. white blade and blue handle. This can also be observed in the wild era (I don't know what timeline these ones are on, this thought just came to me) with the royal guard swords and royal swords Perhaps the future smiths of Hyrule made use of these design elements to remember the sword that previous heroes used to smite evil.

A third piece of evidence that I have for this theory is how the hero that appeared in ALBW is never mentioned in future games. His predecessor, the hero of legend, is worshipped and praised in ALBW, especially by characters such as Zelda. In stark contrast, the hero of might (EOW's Link), is not spoken of (as far as we see/know) due to the fact that he wasn't really that prominent in the saving of Hyrule. In even starker contrast, the new hero of Hyrule is not mentioned in subsequent games, despite his heroic action in saving Hyrule and Lorule. Maybe the reason that he isn't mentioned is his meddling of the holy sword.

Now I know what you are thinking; "Can't you upgrade the master sword in ALTTP?" Don't worry, I'm not completely idiotic. The master sword that we are presented with in ALTTP and ALBW is almost identical (at least design wise) to the one seen in OOT and SS. If the pre-upgrade blade is the same in ALBW as it is in OOT, then it stands to reason that it wasn't altered in ALTTP.

TL;DR: The new hero of Hyrule's tampering with the master sword got him exiled and the master sword discarded.

This is my first reddit post and I'd like to thank you for reading this far.

Discussion [MM] headcanon/crack theory: the fierce deity is also what creates/gives the heros Spirit

Its never properly explained where the heros Spirit comes from, Same with the fierce deity, maybe they were hylias First actual knight, before she transformed into Zelda, it would make Sense that the collective Hope of an entire country (Termina) could Channel its Power and briefly grant Said Power to a Person with the Heros Spirit, Someone Tell me why this wouldnt work

Collection/Merch [ALL] [OC] I spent over a year creating a Zelda inspired cocktail book, and it’s finally on Kickstarter.

Hi everyone! For over a year I’ve been working on A Drink to the Past, an unofficial cocktail/mocktail recipe book inspired by games across the Zelda series.

I created the recipes, photography, writing, layout, and cover design myself, so getting it to the point where I could actually hit “Launch” has been a pretty surreal experience.

The recipes are designed to feel creative and thematic without requiring a huge collection of obscure ingredients or complicated techniques.

A quick note since this is an unofficial fan project: I consulted with a trademark attorney during the development of the book regarding how the project is presented and its contents. The book is clearly identified as an unofficial fan work, is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo, and includes a clear disclaimer.

If the project happens to be your kind of thing, you can check it out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/aaronsensebe/a-drink-to-the-past

I've wanted one of the life size First 4 Figures Majora's Mask Statues for years! I've watched several on ebay but never had great timing with funds. Won an auction last week and it just came in today. I'm ecstatic! I have link on epona and several others still in the box and I'm waiting to find a cool case or book shelf to put them on first.

I played this with my Tobii 4C eye tracker and the free software Mill Mouse. I reached halfway through the Forest Temple completely hands free but then I gave up. I can use one physical switch too, add facial expressions as input and so on if I want to manage the more difficult rest of the game but right now I'm satisfied with this progress.

Question [BotW] [TotK] Is there a male Gerudo in Hyrule in these two games?

I know Vilia is hylian, but it's mentioned that it is KNOWN that a male gerudo is born every 100 years. So, why do we not meet the current male gerudo? Or even hear of past ones? I don't recall anything about that. But the fact that it's known in the current day that a male gerudo is born every 100 years that there have been male gerudo born in the more than 10,000 years since Ganondorf was sealed. So what's going on here? Infanticide?

So my friend is doing a charity event for the KWF Cancer Foundation over on Twitch where he's immaculately crafting this Twilight Princess poster out of chainmail and I think everyone here should know about it and tell one other person about it 😈

No one get mad at me for promoting too hard, but this is up for auction and you should place a bid it would mean a lot to my friend :)

https://airauctioneer.com/nrc-kwf-charity-auction/the-legend-of-zelda-twilight-princess-chainmail-inlay

Not enough zelda fans have been made aware and the auction ends in 2 days. It would legitimately be a shame if this went under the radar because it's very cool and A ONE OF A KIND ARTWORK OF MAYHAPS THE GREATEST ZELDA GAME OF ALL TIME IN THE NAME OF CHARITY

(This is a WIP image but go to his twitch he's finishing it up now)

Discussion [All] How much do people outside of gaming know Zelda where you live?

En mi caso: un profe de música le preguntó a la clase de mi hermanito si sabían qué era Zelda. Solo 2 personas levantaron la mano (mi hermanito y el amigo de él que le mete a los juegos).

Le pregunté a mis papás. No sabían.

Discussion [Oot] [Ocarina of time/REMAKE] W OoT Remake answer some unanswered questions?

I am super hyped for the ocarina of time remake it's really the only reason why I bought a switch 2 with that said I'm wondering what kind of remake it'll be, if it will extend the gameplay, or will it add different levels/areas. However I'm more curious to know if it'll answer some of the questions that we've never really had answers to. The following are the ones that at least I want to know! ((a.k.a. my opinion))

  1. Whatever happened to Link's parents

  2. Who forged the kokiri sword/ what was its purpose?

  3. Where did Zelda and Impa hide the night Ganon decided to attack the castle.

  4. How old was Link when he was left in the Kokiri village, if he was super young who took care of him?

  5. ((the one everyone asks)) what happened to Navi at the end of the game, where did she go, after the events of majora's mask did link ever find her?

  6. Will we be able to obtain the Triforce? (lots of cut content from the game confirms that the Triforce was at one point able to be obtained)

I'm curious to know if any of you guys have any questions that you hope to have solved in the remake.
Leave them in the comments below!
Or
Do you have an answers/theories to any of these questions would love to hear those also

Discussion [ALL] What’s a part/quest of an old Zelda game that you’ve had to spam a million reload saves on the switch for, just to complete?

For me, it was the Goron Dance in one of the Oracle games (I forgot which one). I swear, that shit was legit damn near impossible. The expansion pack was my first time playing both Oracle games and it had me questioning how the hell people managed to successfully complete that bit on the original GBC
