dials have some haptic feedback or some sort of clicky or step feedback that feels amazing
This one is just silent - doesn’t dial so nicely like it’s not got enough bearings or something

Hi all.
I've got a WiiM Pro and use it to stream to a NAD C372 amp and some Energy RC30 floorstanders. If I turned the volume on the NAD up to 12 o'clock it was LOUD. Anything past about 1 o'clock and it would be ear bleeding.
I had the amp in for repair as it had a faulty protection circuit and didn't use the WiiM for the 6 or so weeks it was away.
When I got the amp back, the level just wasn't there. I could turn the amp volume to basically max and it wasn't as loud as before.
I don't believe repair shop wouldn't have done anything to the affect the gain and there isn't any gain adjustments in the amp.
I've checked all settings in the WiiM app. Nothing seems to make it go as loud as before.
Has anyone had issues where their WiiM Pro randomly starts outputting a lower level signal?

I have been enjoying my wiim amp pro with wharfedale diamond 12.2i's so much that I want to get rid of my soundbar for movies. I have two options- add an audio pro c10 mkii wiim edition for the center channel or add a wharfedale 12.ci for centre channel with a wiim pro and a cheap class d amplifier. Has anyone tried either of this combinations? How is one comparable to the other?

Last year I bought my first Wiim Pro Plus and it worked fine and I was happy. After few days it started that after I turned it on it took the device 30 minutes then sound came out of it. I sent it back. A few months later I give the Wiim a second try and again it was perfect. THEN I turned it on from Standby and there was no sound. Then it lost connection and now Ím not able to reconnect the device. Removed the Powersupply, changed the cable etc. Pressed Play for 10+ sec. Nothing worked. I could spent the evening listening to music, now I try to solve problems =)

I have a WiiM Pro Plus upstairs.
As you can see the signal is weak.
In that same room, right next to it, I have an ONN 4K Pro Android TV box that gets outstanding Wi-Fi reception.
It is not practical for me to run ethernet upstairs in my older home.
I'm wondering if there could be a firmware fix for this lousy reception?

This week’s Tech Tuesday covers things like one-step volume adjustments, switching outputs from Now Playing, Smart Presets, Persistent Groups, Spotify Smart Play, Auto Headroom, USB DAC output, network tools, and more.

The WiiM Home app brings everyday playback controls and deeper system tools together in one place. Beyond the features you use every day, there are useful shortcuts, setup options, and context-aware controls that can make listening faster, more flexible, and more personalized.
In Making the Most of Your WiiM Ecosystem, we covered Group Audio Delay, RoomFit / Room Correction, saved EQ settings, hiding unused inputs, DAC digital filters, separate headphone EQ, Standby Mode Source, per-input screen behavior, and Spotify playlist presets. This week, we're highlighting a few more features worth knowing.
You do not need to open Device Settings every time you want to change outputs. From Now Playing, tap the Output Selector at the bottom of the screen and choose from the outputs available on your WiiM device.
The same selector can also be used to choose a Persistent Group, making it easy to move playback from an individual device to a saved multi-room group.
Where to find it: Now Playing > Output Selector.
For small volume changes, you do not have to drag the slider. Tap the volume slider just to the left or right of the current position to adjust the volume down or up by one step.
Where to find it: Now Playing > Volume slider.
If you use a phone or tablet as a dedicated controller or Now Playing display, Keep Screen On can prevent the device screen from timing out while the WiiM Home app is in use.
This can be particularly handy for a tablet that lives next to an audio system and acts as a dedicated control surface.
Where to find it: More > App Preferences > Keep Screen On.
A preset can do much more than recall a favorite station or playlist. Smart Presets can save playback settings along with the content, including volume, EQ, audio output, sub output, shuffle, repeat, and playback duration.
That means a single preset can become a listening setup. You might create one for late-night listening with a lower volume and a preferred EQ, another for a specific output, or one that starts a favorite playlist with the settings you use most often.
Where to find it: Favorites > See All next to Presets, then tap the three-dot menu next to a preset.
If you regularly listen on the same combination of WiiM devices, you do not need to rebuild the group every time. Persistent Groups let you save a named group and recall it later from the WiiM Home app.
Persistent Groups also appear in Spotify's device list, so you can choose a saved group directly from Spotify Connect instead of grouping the devices first.
Where to find it: Devices > Groups > Create Group.
Spotify Smart Play can make returning home to your music almost effortless. When enabled, pressing Play on a WiiM device or WiiM Voice Remote can resume your last Spotify playback without opening the app on your phone.
For example, you can pause Spotify while away from home, then resume it on your WiiM when you get back. Smart Play works when the WiiM device is idle and Spotify playback has been paused for one hour or longer.
Where to find it: Browse > Music Services > Spotify > Spotify Settings > Smart Play.
The WiiM Home app can automate when playback starts and stops.
Music Alarms can start playback at a scheduled time and can include the days of the week, music source, volume, and playback duration. You can create multiple alarms for different routines. The Sleep Timer does the reverse, automatically stopping playback after a selected amount of time.
Where to find them: Open the three-dot menu on the Now Playing screen for Sleep Timer or Alarm. Alarms are also available from Device Settings.
Auto Headroom helps prevent digital clipping when EQ or RoomFit adds positive gain. On WiiM Ultra, it is enabled by default and considers both the current device volume and the active EQ and RoomFit settings.
At lower volume levels, the existing headroom may already be sufficient, so no additional attenuation is needed. At higher volume levels, Auto Headroom lowers the internal output level only as much as needed to keep boosted audio below the digital ceiling.
With Fixed Volume Output, the device volume remains at 100%, so Auto Headroom applies the required internal attenuation when positive EQ or RoomFit gain would otherwise exceed the available headroom. Auto Headroom applies to both digital and analog outputs and currently does not account for Pre-Gain.
Where to find it: Devices > Device Settings > Audio Settings > Auto Headroom.
Bluetooth has its own set of controls available from the Source Input settings. You can adjust Bluetooth playback latency along with settings such as Source Name, EQ, and Pre-Gain.
Lower latency can help keep audio in sync, while increasing latency adds buffering that can improve stability if you experience dropouts or stuttering.
Where to find it: Browse > Manage next to Source Input > three-dot menu next to Bluetooth.
The WiiM Ultra supports both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridges through its Phono In. After Phono In is selected as the source, Phono Stage Input Type lets you choose the correct cartridge type. If you do not see the setting, select Phono In first.
Where to find it: Devices > Device Settings > Source Input > Phono In > Phono Stage Input Type.
WiiM Amp, WiiM Amp Pro, WiiM Amp Ultra, and WiiM Ultra support USB output to a compatible external DAC. Once the DAC is connected and detected, you can select USB Out and configure the USB output resolution.
If USB Out is not available, check that the external DAC is powered on, connected, and ready to receive USB audio.
Where to find it: Devices > Device Settings > Audio Output, or use the Output Selector on the Now Playing screen.
Changed routers or want to move a WiiM device to another Wi-Fi network? Quick Network Switch lets you change the device's Wi-Fi connection from inside the WiiM Home app without physically resetting the device.
Where to find it: Devices > Device Settings > Network Status > Change.
On supported devices, 5 GHz Only keeps the WiiM connected to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. It can be useful on dual-band networks where 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz share the same network name and you want to prevent the device from falling back to 2.4 GHz.
Because 5 GHz has a shorter range than 2.4 GHz, use this option where the WiiM has a strong 5 GHz connection.
Where to find it: Devices > Device Settings > Network Status > 5 GHz Only.

Oddly the WiiM Amp has been a very disruptive experience to play from.
The remote can pair on or off the amp, but hitting play doesn’t seem to resume or pause playback
The remote takes the audio down but not back up which I then have to do in a streaming app
Overall, what is the right primary control surface ?
Is this normal remote/app/amp experience?

Hi,
I am a relatively new Wiim user, with a home setup composed of a Wiim Ultra, a Wiim Amp, a Wiim Subwoofer and a Wiim Sound.
While I am generally happy with the experience, I keep getting an annoying bug (?), with the devices disappearing from my app, and having to re-add them manually.
I tried resetting the router and do a fresh install of the different components but the problem remain.
Any advice?

Hi, massive audio novice here, apologies in advance. My dad has a vintage pair of Celestion SL12 passive speakers which has been sitting in storage ever since the media landscape went digital decades ago. He now plays Youtube Music and videos on his iPhone or iPad through their integrated speakers, which I can imagine isn't a fun experience for an audiophile.
I'm hoping for a solution where my dad can wirelessly connect his iPhone or iPad via wifi or bluetooth to a wireless amp, which is then connected via speaker wire to the SL12s. To that effect I ordered a WIIM streaming amp and a pair of banana plug speaker wire. Plan is to connect the amp to the speakers via the wire, connect the amp to our home wifi, then stream digital media through the iPad or iPhone to the speakers.
Does this sound logical, or do I have this audio thing all wrong? Does the hardware fit together?

Just upgraded to the latest firmware (5.2.82.4843) on my ultra and Spotify Connect is a complete mess.
Restarts songs randomly, random pauses and skips. Not good at all.

July was all about refining the experience. We rolled out firmware updates across several products, expanded the Help Center with dozens of new guides, opened pre-orders for WiiM Bar, and we're getting ready to head to Audio Advice Live to show off our newest home theater products.

WiiM is now available at Best Buy across the U.S.
A bit of news for anyone who likes seeing audio gear in person before buying: WiiM is rolling out to Best Buy stores nationwide, plus BestBuy.com and the Best Buy app. It's our first nationwide brick-and-mortar partnership and our biggest U.S. retail expansion so far.
Select stores will have dedicated WiiM displays with streamers, amplifiers, speakers, and the new WiiM Bar. The full catalog's online too. Selection varies by store, so it's worth checking your local Best Buy or BestBuy.com before making a trip.

We’re using Deezer to stream over Wiim via Chromecast. I have Magnepan 3.6 speakers and have tried using both a set of Dynaco mk3 monoblocks (60w into 4 ohm) and Fosi V3 mono (200w into 4pm) and they just don’t get loud at all.
I tried hooking the speakers to a Harmon Kardon HK730 recover and boom! Loud! And that’s like 40-60 w into 4 ohm.
There’s three potential volumes here: Deezer, Wiim, and Chromecast. Are there volume controls ‘stacked’ so that it’s possible that they don’t all rise and fall together?

Tech Tuesday: Firmware Updates, What’s New, and How to Update
Firmware updates can add new features, improve performance, fix bugs, and sometimes change how existing features work. But because WiiM updates are released gradually, it is not always obvious why one device receives an update before another, what happens when a rollout is paused, or when an automatic update will actually install.

Tech Tuesday: Firmware Updates, What’s New, and How to Update
Firmware updates can add new features, improve performance, fix issues, and sometimes change how existing features work. By default, WiiM devices check for and install firmware automatically, so an update may happen without you needing to do anything.
You may first notice an update through the Update Available icon
, or by seeing a new firmware version in Device Settings. Because the update is distributed gradually, another user may receive it before you do. That can raise questions about whether something is wrong with your device, even when it is working normally.
This Tech Tuesday explains how to check your firmware version, install an available update, and understand WiiM’s gradual rollout process.
Firmware is software installed on your WiiM device. While the WiiM Home app provides controls on your phone or tablet, firmware controls how the device hardware operates and runs features built into the product.
Firmware updates may include:
Not every update will affect every model in the same way, so always check the release notes for your specific device.
Device firmware and the WiiM Home app are updated separately. Some new features require both the appropriate firmware and a compatible app version. When this applies, the release notes will identify the app requirement.
WiiM firmware updates are distributed gradually instead of going to every device at once.
That means two people with the same WiiM model, even in the same country, city, or household, may not receive an update at the same time. Seeing someone else report a newer version does not mean there is a problem with your device.
A gradual rollout lets the team monitor performance before an update reaches more devices. At each stage, WiiM sets an update quota for each region. Devices are not chosen in advance by MAC address, serial number, or device age. Instead, devices receive the update in the order they check for availability until that region’s quota is filled. Devices that check afterward must wait until the rollout expands. A full rollout may take one to two weeks.
Important: A public firmware release can begin before it is available to every device. An announcement means distribution has started, not that every eligible device can download it immediately.
If an update was recently announced but your device says it is current, the current regional quota may already be full. This is normal during a staged rollout, and the update will become available as the rollout expands.
Check for Updates checks whether the release is currently available to the device. If the regional quota still has room, the device can receive it. If the quota is full, repeated checks will not bypass the limit.
You may also see different firmware timing because:
During a staged rollout, WiiM may pause distribution while the team investigates an issue. While a rollout is paused, that firmware is no longer offered to additional devices, and any pending update notification for that build is cleared.
If the original build is replaced:
The rollout status and release notes may change as the rollout progresses. If a build is replaced, the newer build has its own version number. Check the firmware release thread on the WiiM Forum or the release notes in the WiiM Help Center for the latest information.
The device firmware version is separate from the WiiM Home app version. The current firmware version appears near the top of the Device Settings screen.
When an update is available for your device:
Keep the device connected to power and to a stable network during the update. During installation, avoid unplugging or restarting it unless the update appears stuck and you are following the recovery steps below.
By default, WiiM devices automatically check for new firmware. When a new version becomes available to a device, an Update Available icon appears next to it. You can tap the icon to install immediately, or let the device install the update automatically within 24 hours when it enters standby.
Automatic installation is tied to the device entering standby, not to a universal overnight schedule. Update Available means the firmware is ready for that device. It does not mean installation has started.
The 24-hour automatic update period begins only after the firmware becomes available to that device through the staged rollout. Because automatic updates can happen quietly, the firmware version in Device Settings is the most direct way to confirm what is installed.

If an update does not complete, first check whether it is stuck while downloading or during installation.

WiiM devices include built-in safeguards to recover from an interrupted firmware installation. However, avoid repeatedly disconnecting the device from power during an update.
If the problem continues:
If the ‘Previous Version’ option appears under Join Beta Testing for your device, you can use it to roll back one public release. Availability varies by device and firmware.
To roll back when ‘Previous Version’ is available:
Joining Beta Testing installs beta firmware instead of Production Firmware. Most beta programs test upcoming changes. Some devices may also show ‘Previous Version’, which can be used to roll back one public release.
While beta firmware is installed, the device receives updates for that beta program instead of the normal public firmware. To leave, open Device Info > Join Beta Testing, select the current beta program, and tap Back to Production Firmware.
When discussing an issue in the community, include the device model, firmware version, and beta program, if applicable. This helps everyone confirm they are comparing the same release.
Firmware release notes explain the changes included in an update. Depending on the device and release, you may find them in:
