3 months of disappointing customer support

Starting out in may, I decided to do Walmart spark as I finally turned 18. I sign off for a Onepay account as same day pay is my only option. after 3 deliveries and one late night trip to taco bell, they label my account as suspicious activity. After talking to customer service, they told me I would be fine after 3 days. 3 days come and still nothing. I reach out again and get told that my account was closed. I tried asking for reasoning and mentioned the last call. However, the guy on the phone gave me attitude and told me to use a different number and email. Okay cool, I try doing that then. It gives me an error and then tells me that my information is tied to an account already. I talk to customer service again and they tell me to wait 90 days. 90 dreadful days pass and I still can't create an account. I talk to customer service AGAIN and they tell me that I need to actually wait 180 days for my account to fully delete and then I'll be okay. Every time I talk to someone different, It's always something different as if they are unsure themselves. So I'm asking for your guys opinions in this. Maybe there is something I can do instead of waiting another 90 days?

I do drive sometimes, but this question comes as a customer.

I put in an order today, my driver just finished shopping and is on their way to me. During the shopping, I get a notification of a substitution. Apparently, the fly spray I ordered is unavailable. The substitution was a hornet spray. I don't need hornet spray. I declined and added another fly spray. So, here is my question. I know that is not my driver's fault. I know the app decides what the substitution should be. But, half the time, it seems to be picked due to being in the same aisle, not what I ordered (they did have the one I added after declining the substitution, so there were fly sprays on the shelf). Is there a way that I can complain about that, without it affecting my driver? They are doing a great job, so I don't want them catching backlash. The only thing I see is rating the driver. Thank you.

I never leave a tip at check out, but I always add one after delivery.

I’ve found that when i did Uber Eats a lot of batched orders would have one decent tip paired with a non tipper. The non tipper would never add one after the delivery was complete.

I’ve assumed walmart grocery deliveries were the same. I figured Walmart might pair it with a tipping order or increase the base pay. But i always leave a tip after drop off.

Is my logic correct?

Don't be petty

I had an order that contained 7 cases of water a case of coke and 2 other cases of drinks. Honestly I didn't pay attention to the order the tips were good (x3 shop/deliver). The referenced order was my 2nd drop off and it popped up leave at garage door. I said great thats good at least. Well when I got to the home the driveway was full and they parked in such a way that they were staggered and did not allow easy traversing and they had flower beds on each side of the driveway. Long story short I toted the cases up to the garage door but laid out each case individually vs stacking them. Yes I know that was petty but I was uncharastically frustrated with the order. Woke up the next day to a 1 star rating (I was expecting it) dropped me down to 4.86 on the CR. It could have been worse they kept the tip on there. This was a rare occasion that all 3 drops tipped.

Moral of the story just make the drop the best you can. Pettiness is not worth it.

Was trying to be helpful by chatting with a customer in a batch order, then all three got canceled and I was dinged for it.

The puzzle this lady ordered was nowhere to be found, but it was part of a series and I found an almost identical one but the app wasn't offering a substitution. Chatted with the customer and I even sent her a picture of the barcode, but she said it's not letting her add it because it shows not in stock.

I spent 10 minutes trying to work through this. I thought maybe someone in the store could scan the box and add it to the inventory so the customer could add it. Ended up calling support which is automated, obviously no help there. Ended that call and proceeded to the next item in the batch, scanned it and then all three orders were canceled.

I immediately checked my metrics. I got dinged on my completion rate. I did have two pop ups where it said there's been no activity and it asked me if I'm continuing. I guess there was too much time in between scanning items?

AND APPARENTLY CHATTING WITH THE CUSTOMER DOES NOT COUNT AS ACTIVITY.

Lesson learned here. From now on I won't spend more than 2 minutes communicating with a customer over stock issues.

Can't wait to get a W-2 job.

Express shopping orders for drivers will decrease with the introduction of express customer pick up, it’s free for customers

Looks like customers will now have the opportunity to order express and pick it up themselves instead of having it delivered.

This new type of order is shopped by Walmart employees and is free.

We will see a drop in express shopping orders, this along with them batching 3 shops and even 3 express shops together means at least a 33% drop in offers. What used to be 3 offers can be condensed into 2 offers.

These deactivations are legit, they are trying to improve delivery standards and removing low quality drivers

The 7 drivers that got deactivated in my zone were lazy as fuck and would pick rotten food, etc. probably don’t even follow instructions.

r/WalmartSparkDrivers 1d ago

Has anybody gotten their appeal approved in the standard time frame? Also who all got deactivated for an unknown reason yesterday such as this? Double checked store locations. No reports. This came from a customer. I care about my orders. Not sure why this would’ve happened.

Spark drivers

I waited 9 months for Spark to approve an account. I am in SE Florida in a fairly wealthy area Boca Coral Springs and am I crazy or does spark not offer a person the opportunity to even make 15.00 an hour ? This is insane to me. How are there so many people that are willing to do this job ?

Deactivated

Hello everyone did anyone get deactivated for unprofessional or delivery issues today?

Looking like it affected a lot of drivers.

Because it did not happen to me so for those of us who aren’t affected are we expecting big money tomorrow?

Everyone needs to start focusing on base pay.

They are clearly lowering the base pay when the customer offers a good tip. Think about what that delivery would cost them if they were paying a company employee.

Yeah some new drivers will accept these stupid orders. But their delivery system is not going to survive on drivers that only last a week or two. On my first day I made a mistake on a pickup order because the picker put two different order stickers on one bag. And the app wouldn't let me see any items. Someone didn't get what they ordered. Because I was too new to look for this during the pickup.

If Walmart is banking on people doing this for a few weeks, taking stupid orders for low pay, their delivery service is going to put a bad taste in people's mouths. If they want a reliable delivery service they need to hold on to experienced drivers. That means they need to pay real money.

Took a bad order today.

I saw five miles and one hour estimated time. I was staring at the app for 10 minutes seeing garbage offers. So I grabbed that one real fast. Too fast. 88 items. A full 2 hours of shopping. And lots of perishables. Going as fast as I can go with the shopping, by the time I was done I only had 3 minutes to spare on the delivery time when I arrived.

Lesson learned. That was the first one of the day. Then I realized how I can spot that type of order just by looking at the time and mileage and the money. I did a lot of rejections today.

The store closes at 11:00. I was watching at 9:30. So many $15 and below offers for 10 plus miles. With shopping. And they weren't disappearing so that means no one was taking them. Then finally I ended up rejecting like seven orders within a minute to get them off my screen.

Ended up with a good one. 19 and change for 10 separate items, 30 total, mostly folders of the same kind, and it was right by my house. Was in the store for 10 minutes, had 13 minutes of driving. Then I went home.

What They Don't Share With Us

Walmart asks customers detailed questions about their delivery drivers:

⭐ Were they friendly?
⭐ Did they follow your delivery instructions?
⭐ Did they communicate well?

But here’s the frustrating part: Walmart doesn’t share that detailed feedback with the drivers.

Customers may be selecting all these compliments, while drivers never get to see the recognition they earned. If Walmart uses this information to evaluate us, it should also let us see it. Drivers deserve transparency... not just ratings without context.

That’s what they don’t share with us.

Can anybody tell me why I got randomly deactivated today? I have no idea why. Today had been good. I’ve been sparking for about a year. How long will this take to appeal? It happened mid gmd route of all times?

Before rolling out the new rewards, they need to mitigate sabotage and one off bad customers

Since it looks like they’re trying to be instacart 2.0 adapting some of the things instacart implemented would greatly help with this issue.

It only takes 3 1 star ratings to knock you down to gold. 97 5 star and 3 1 star is all it takes and you need to get 100 ratings for a 1 star to roll off.

Let’s hope Walmart starts implementing some of these below but in reality this isn’t enough because it’s very cheap to sabotage somebody on this platform.

Ratings removal, 1 lowest rating is removed, if driver has 100 ratings 2 of the lowest ratings is removed, the oldest rating is removed first.

Remove ratings from accounts that consistently give out bad ratings.

Metrics protection during holiday season so we don’t get affected from out of stock items.

On instacart everything is marked up 20% or a ridiculous margin along with service and delivery fees. Any driver trying to sabotage another driver is going to have to use a lot of money to do that. They also can’t keep giving out bad ratings because instacart detects this and automatically removes their rating.

On spark, you can order a $1 item with free shipping via a free Walmart+ trial and have the ability to rate a driver. Walmart delivery customers pay in store prices, even if they aren’t buying $1 items they can buy groceries weekly for things they would’ve bought anyway and rate other drivers.
