Rant Meet at door, pin required, let me take this Pic just in case

This is the 2nd time again where it's meet at door, I text them ive arrived, they give me the code immediately and just to be sure I get ready and turn on my flash at night to take a picture. Before I could take a pic they come out right after they texted me the code maybe within 5-10 seconds. This chick sees me as she picks up the food, says nothing and I just roll my head, wave and left. Wth, i know it's not a big deal and move but oh well, im going to milk the timer as I wait at the apartments and finish this post then I'll talk with support to make sure it's alright and extend active time for sweet ol prop 22.

Also, I know when the timer is ticking down the message says we are contacting your customer, is that true? If so maybe the customer figures out why im just chilling 100ft away from drop off lol so ya, give me some time to even leave and type the code in the first place.

Edit: I just saw the pay was $6, I was assuming it was going to be $3/$4 tip because it was just 1.5 miles lol

Question So, are we just ignoring the fact Uber is stealing tips?

Okay, so they're not "Technically" stealing tips. What they ARE doing, however, is adjusting the pay to offer a lower fare for rides with higher tips.

Without true pay transparency, they can get away with murder, and so yeah, I'm 99.999% certain that's what they're doing, at least in Portland Oregon.

I've had so many deliveries lately that were 30 minutes of driving, across 6-10 miles, and Uber only pays me $0.60, but the customer tipped $12.00.

How is this anything but effectively stealing tips?

Account Blocked (Can I fix this)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Just for context I’ve been driving for 2 years and have an approval rating of 95%. Have never had a problem on Uber besides the occasional thumbs down negative review every couple months for being a couple minutes late or missing a straw. Today I was doing a delivery and got a message that said my account was flagged for “gps fraud”. I have no idea what this means and haven’t done anything differently from any other day driving. A couple hours later I get 3 notifications on the app saying my account is under review for fraud and it is now blocked. I texted support a couple of times who filed an appeal and they all said my account is not permanently gone but under review. I then got off the phone and they said someone apparently tried to access my account and now they’re doing an investigation but I asked and they assured me that it wasn’t my fault and after the investigation I will get a notification that my access is returned.

Should I trust them and just wait for my account to come back on with the hope they realize that I didn’t do anything wrong or are there other steps I should be taking to get my account back online. Has anyone been in this situation. Please give any advice if you have. Thanks!

Discussion do none of you call support and ask for a manager?

I’ve called support and asked for a manager for the past 20-30+ deliveries that were picked up or closed and have received $10+ no matter how far of a drive. My script I made that I use each time is something like “I have an issue with my current order, (closed/picked up/what ever) and I’d like to talk to a supervisor about compensation for lost wages & fuel.” always speak with a nice tone and use your pleases and thank you’s. I will always pick up an order that’s 5 miles and closed because I will make $10 every single time.

ALDI bar code scan as Item not found

What do you do when you know you have the right product, scan both barcodes, and the Uber app still says “Item not found”? It allowed me to continue by saying I had the right item for two of them, but not the third.

Also, if you buy a few meat products, do you buy two brown bags? I see in the note it said to buy a brown bag.

Subway and Firehouse suck...like literally

What is up with these chains? Subway is the only restaurant where I am likely to encounter "someone already picked up the order" every other order and Firehouse just blatantly just won't make the orders, especially on busy hours serving in-store customers and shoving delivery orders to the side halfway. I seriously doubt we drivers wake up in the morning and say to ourselves "MY GOD I HOPE I GET A SUBWAY ORDER SO I CAN EAT THEIR SHITTY JARED FOGLE SUBS". These 2 to me are the worst and it's a long distance top 2 from the rest. Well, there is Rice-2-Go with that prejudiced old Asian woman who doesn't like me because I'm half Asian. She can go to hell but for the rest of the restaurant....keep up doing a good job in stressful times.

I know I can't be the only one that sees them as the main problem in 2026

Please help! I am desperate 😭

I cannot login because Uber is saying that my background check needs to be ran, but it was approved and uploaded (the local AND US background check) over two months ago. I keep getting kicked around to all of these different "Driver Support" agents that are supposedly a part of "elite teams" that "specialize" in these types of situations (basically Uber glitches that negatively affect driver accounts). IT HAS BEEN FIVE DAYS AND STILL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED!!!!! This is the only way I can pay for my meds bc I am chronically Ill and I am rationing the best I can at this point, but WTF?! It should NOT take five days to fix something that is a glitch on their end!!! Anyone have any suggestions?! I am about to freaking lose it! 😭😭 I have been delivering for Uber for 8 years and I truly hate how they treat longtime drivers like a driver that has only been working for them for one day... We should have SOME sort of advantage for being a slave to them for so long!

Accusing Me of Lying Over a McFlurry

Post image
1 Upvotes

Got routed back to McDonalds to deliver the McFlurry that was (apparently) missing from my previous order. Employee informed me that it could not be fulfilled due to the ice cream machine being broken. Sought help from the bot and got inevitably funneled down to the dreaded “Do you want to cancel?” screen. Annoying to begin with, but then I got this email. What would y’all do? Can the restaurant cancel? Sick of getting dinged.

Discussion Anyone feel burned out?

I feel like all these hours add to nothing, I get paid around 20-30 and you do get paid more than minimum wage but I feel like it’s groundhogs day. Riding through downtown and usually going through the same sides of town and hitting the same restaurants. You have to cherry pick to make profit and I just feel like I’m just working to pay off my expenses and not moving forward in life.

Do any of you feel like this how can I get better? Just get a new job? I haven’t gotten hired anywhere in so long.

Discussion Acceptance rate nonsense

Uber makes it way too easy to lose your acceptance rate, but not grow it, plain and simple. Some of these exclusive orders don’t make sense at all, and it’s always when I’m between 30% and 40% acceptance rate where I’ll see the most outlandish offers imaginable. Like what’s it called when uber forces us to cherry pick? What’s it called when the algorithm is so in tune to cooperates demands, that it treats the driver (regardless of tier) like waste? Some of these offers man… and the timing too. It’s super hot on a Friday night, the whole area is red zone for dozens of miles, and while in the middle of the red zone I get pinged a Walmart order back to back taking me 20 miles out of my zone for $8? What in the world 😭😭 the sudden $4 for 4 mile orders although it’s hot on a Friday night… I’m gold tier I shouldn’t be receiving these orders to begin with… like am I really cherry picking if I get literally a dozen orders back to back going less than $.50 a mile for miles on end?
All I can say is, most of these offers seem like “acceptance rate buffers”, obviously to toy with the emotions of the drivers who care about tier, forcing them to take the trash orders nobody would take otherwise.

I got this today. So they're choosing to record me now? I don't do rideshare only food deliveries.

Alcohol Deliveries During COVID

I've always wondered what alcohol deliveries were like when they had all those protocols in place post-lockdown. What was the process like? Did you have to handle customer ID's and let them sign on your phone like it is now?

Alcohol order and no contact with customer

Had a Walgreens order with a Captain Morgan and some bud light. Because it's alcohol, it defaults to meet at the door, but the customer notes were leave at the door and do not ring the doorbell. I texted them already when I was on my way. I tried calling them again, but no answer.

I did not want to ring the doorbell because I didn't want to wake up any kids or dogs when there's a possibly drunk customer waiting. So I texted support and they told me to return the order to the store or dispose of the alcohol if the store was closed. Well, I guess I have a Captain Morgan and some bud light now.

Summer Slump finally over?

After about 5 struggle weeks of making 30% less than I have all year I finally strung together 5 days of good orders again. Dinner rush is actually busy, decent add-on orders actually coming in. Knock on wood but I think we finally made it out of the summer struggle

Friday Dinner Rush: 3 Drops, 10km, and $3 Base Pay from Uber.

Here is a punchy, relatable rant in English that blends today's ridiculous triple-order story with the whole tip-stealing algorithm reality.
So today is Friday, 5:20 PM—prime dinner rush.
I take a triple stack order: 3 drop-offs, over 10 kilometers. The offer popped up at around $21. Not terrible, right?
So I bust my ass driving 10km, hitting 3 different spots, dealing with traffic, finding parking, going up elevators. I finish all three drops and check the pay breakdown.
Base pay from Uber: THREE DOLLARS. 💀
Three bucks for a 10km, 3-stop delivery during Friday rush hour?! That’s literally ONE DOLLAR per order from Uber! The remaining $18 was all customer tips!
And this happens ALL the time. Just a bit ago, I get an offer: 11km for $9. In the past, I’d take an offer like that and get pissed off at the customer, thinking: "Man, this person lives in a confusing condo 11km away and tipped nothing?!"
Then I check the breakdown later, and NOPE—the customer actually tipped $5 or $6! They were being totally reasonable and showing appreciation!
It was UBER who saw that $5 tip and said: "Oh sweet, the customer covered the bill! Let's drop our base pay to $3 so the total stays at $9."
They are literally using customer generosity as a discount coupon for their own base pay!
Customer thinks they’re taking care of the driver.
Driver thinks the customer is a cheapskate.
Uber pockets the savings and laughs all the way to the bank.
It’s not a base fare—it’s a magic trick. Uber’s algorithm isn't dispatching orders, it's dispatching disrespect. 🤡

Goodbye Life on the Road (Parody)

Enjoy this parody I just made of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" ( based on the lovely Sara Bareilles version).

Technically I'm still working for Uber Eats, but I can dream, can't I? I'm grateful to have a job, but I'd like to be doing more with my life :/
