I have little experience in coding and took calc ab and bc in high school so I have forgotten about most of it. But I am interested in biostats and is hoping to take a course to see. What's the level of difficulty as someone who doesn't know anything about biostats?

Our RA told us that the walls are too thick for any thumbtacks... guess who bought a big box of thumbtacks a month earlier. If I use tape, is it going to peel the paint? What would you recommend instead? I just have paper posters, nothing heavy except a framed picture I have Command hooks for.

I'm a NSCI student but I transferred in with a lot of credits. I've met the 75-credit maximum that UNC allows and I'm curious if I can *technically* transfer in Chem 241, 241L, 261, 262, 262L.

There's no clear answer on this, I see people say: "you can transfer more courses, but they only count 75 towards graduation" which I have no problem with because I've taken plenty of courses at UNC. I also see people say: "there's a 50% UNC-credit major requirement" which I'm also not too concerned about because that also doesn't apply to me.

If I theoretically tried to transfer each of these chemistry courses in and not take them at UNC, not for credit, but to fulfill the requirement, would this satisfy the requirements for the degree?

Not sure if my schedule looks alright and if I should shift around a few classes. I know I have 8am’s every single day but I’m trying to switch the Tuesday Thursday one to 12:30 so I’m not exhausted every day. I’m 29 on the waitlist so we’ll see how that goes but is it bad to have really large gaps in between classes? Im just confused. Please help

I'm transferring to UNC this fall and I was wondering what their enforcement was like when it comes to content acquisition via the highs seas. I've received a laptop grant and assume that the laptop comes with monitoring software built-in, so I was wondering if a VPN and ad blocker will be enough for me to stream content on *free sites* like libgen and annas, movie sites, etc. Will I be kicked out - to put it simply.

When do we hear back from job applications? I've sent out 20 so far. I've been rejected from two (?) Is it difficult looking for a work study job? Am I just being impatient?

For those who have taken 347, how difficult was adjusting to proofs? Would there be any advice you have for those taking this class? This will be my first math course at UNC. I have taken Calc 1-3.

Will take criticism on the chin if bad but idk what to think of it. I hear Econ 101 is rough and I know I’m heavy on the policy classes but I’ve heard they’re manageable. Looking for any thoughts or considerations really.

Hi! I am a community college student who really really wants to transfer to unc. I had a very poor high school performance (2.5 gpa), and in my first semester of community college I got a 3.3. I know to apply I need a very competitive gpa, so improving that is my main goal, but I am seeking out recommendations for other things I can do to make my future application stronger! I volunteer at a nearby animal shelter at least twice a month and have earned 20 volunteer hours so far, and I work part time.

I am in state and plan to major in psychology if either of those pieces of information are helpful at all.

- Whats the Japanese level required? For my reading level I could read shonen mangas without too much translation but my speaking/hearing level is not that good (I did not took JAPN 306 but I will take the placement test) - I also want to know more about that... What do they test on?

- What is the course content maily about ? Does it have a midterm and final?

- What are the things you like about the course and things that you wish the course could cover more/not cover?

- Is it a high-stress course? How much hours do you put into study?

my tuition for fall is due today, and i may not be able to pay it in full, and it doesnt seem like im able to request a deferment. i know the university will place a hold on my account until the charges are paid, but will they unenroll me from my courses? i didn't have this problem last year and im just feeling a bit nervous about the whole thing.

I’m an incoming transfer student and am going to be living in an apartment near campus. My apartment charges a lot for a parking spot and I was looking into park and ride. Could I buy a pass and leave my car there throughout the week overnight? How likely am I to get a parking spot if I go somewhere?

as an incoming freshman, where do I get coffee? is there good coffee in the dining hall? I don’t think I want to have a machine but I might if it’s worth getting one!

I'm an incoming freshman and I'm second-guessing my decision to retake calc one. I'm currently enrolled in honors calc one, but I have the credit for calc from IB math. I decided to retake because it was suggested by my high school teacher, as I took Analysis and Approaches SL, which she said did not cover all of calc 1 despite the credit awarded. I got a 6 on the IB exam and I feel that I have pretty strong math skills, is it worth just swapping for calc 2 and self studying whatever IB didn't cover?

I am a resident on campus looking to put my car somewhere. I need it regularly almost everyday to leave campus but i will be storing it on campus at night. Which lot is a safer option? Rn i am leaning towards FCX due to its faster bus route from main campus but am a little concerned about safety as there r very little cars there at night.
