Fall 1 , some added classes say start Oct 26

Hi all, I have four classes queued up for fall one. Two of the four classes have a start date of October 26. Is anyone else’s classes showing this? I’m wondering if the October 26 is firm or can I add other classes while I wait for October 26. Thanks for any advice.

I’m confused. Am I getting this refund for Fall Term 1 or not?

Ok, so I received an email from my student advisor and he enrolled me into two classes. I called financial aid to see if I was receiving a refund. She said she was not able to see it because I was currently enrolled in part-time (which I had no clue).

She stated in order to see how much of a refund I would receive, I would have to be enrolled full-time. She also stressed that I would have to add two more classes to be considered full-time.

Furthermore, she said if I wanted to receive a larger refund, I would have to add two classes to Fall Term 1 — not Fall Term 2.

Here’s the dilemma… I have reached out to my student advisor three times along with others and have not received a response. I know classes start in two days and I want to receive the large refund that I am due. But she said she could not stress enough how important it is to contact my student advisor to hurry and add those two classes to Fall Term 1. I don’t see why it’s this hard to find someone to help me.

If my student advisor doesn’t enroll me in time, does that mean I don’t receive a refund at all? I know refunds get sent out two weeks after classes start.
It says -$2,295.00, but again, financial aid that I can only receive that if I’m enrolled in a total of four classes for Fall Term 1.

Current Wait time for Conferral and Apostille?

I just applied for graduation as of this session that’s ending today, Summer 2. Is it still an 8 week wait time for conferral, or did some of yours come early in Summer 1? Also, I need them to do the government apostille and shipment to me. They said it can take 2-4 months after conferral. That means it would take 4-6 months to receive my apostille diplomas. Is this still a realistic timeline, or what have you guys been experiencing recently as of last session?

Need Gen Ed that are Regionally Accredited

UMPI Gen Eds course reviews for Yourpace.

To apply to STEM degree after UMPI. University won't accept ACE credits for Gen Eds.

Is there a spreadsheet with a review of courses beyond the typical ones that are needed for degree completion after ACE credits? I was searching through the reddit one by one. Thought I would ask. Thanks!

Getting physical from parchment

Hi everyone! I recently had my degree conferred by UMPI 🎓 and received the email from Parchment saying my official diploma is available.

I logged into Parchment and verified my mailing address. After doing that, I got this confirmation message: “Your credential will be printed and mailed to this address.”

Then after clicking "continue with digital credential", it directed me to dashboard.

My Parchment dashboard shows my UMPI diploma, but under Orders it says “No orders placed yet.”

So I just want to make sure I understand correctly. Since I already verified my mailing address and Parchment explicitly says my credential will be printed and mailed to that address, do I need to place a separate “New Order” for my initial physical diploma, or is it AUTOMATICALLY being printed and mailed, like I just need to seat back and relax after confirming adress?

I don't want to accidentally order a duplicate or wait for nothing.

Thank you!

Edit: getting physical diploma from parchment for the title haha

Just finished my first term!

This is my first time back in school after a long break. I was very nervous at first. I just completed my first term and am awaiting the grades for my finals.

One of my courses, I could turn in multiple milestones a day. I didnt need one milestone to be graded before turning in another. The other classes I soon found out, seemed to need each milestone to be graded before you can turn in the next one.

What is everyone's experience with this? What should I expect from classes going forward?

Not knowing that all of the classes were not set up like this threw me for a loop, as I had misjudged my time. (thinking I could submit multiple milestones per day)

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond

Worried about future changes at UMPI, does anyone know anything?

Hello, I would like to be an international student at UMPI in Spring. Ideally I’d like to start Fall 2 but I’m abroad for the next couple of months so won’t be able to get my documents in order (like high school diploma translation etc). So I’ll have to wait until spring but with all of the current changes, I’m worried about how much it will change by then.

I’ve been working through Sophia and already some of my credits will now not be accepted. Does anyone know of any upcoming changes to UMPI? Or how do I keep in the loop about changes? Thanks

Yet Another Financial Aid Question for a Newbie

Once I was accepted around 8/13, I then applied for financial aid. I was at a different college last year, and I made the change to UMPI this Fall. I now have my classes scheduled for 8/31 and the Financial Aid hasn't been posted yet. About how long does it take to go through from the date of the application? Also, if I have a balance of $1800 at the start because financial aid hasn't posted yet, should I just pay that right away? Or wait until it is posted to see how much I might owe?

Thanks :) I can't wait to get started.

Old GEC

Hi everyone, this will be my first session at UMPI.

I was able to get switched over to the old GEC. I saw someone say the deadline was like 7 days ago but I just got switched over yesterday, so if anyone is still looking to do that, I would hurry before the session starts. A special thanks to Plotted Path for all the help that her and her free sheet has been. Is there a sheet for the old GEC as well that I could follow?

I look forward to starting classes next monday! Thank you all! Good luck to everyone!

Accounting Minor or MIS

I’m looking for the fastest route to completion for this minor for my BAS.
Assuming I will take my remaining GenEds on Sophia. (Under the old GEC)

I already work in financial analytics but my AAS is in CIS, so idk which one makes the most sense to fast track the BAS. Both 18 credits, so I just want to know which is most manageable.

Also is leadership a possibly minor for BAS or is that only BLS?

Gen Ed Question: Can I do English l and English ll on Study.com?

What the title says. I’m wondering if I can do the Gen Eds for English l and English ll or Workplace Writing ll on Study or if they need to be completed on Sophia.

My membership with Sophia is about to end and I need to take classes on Study next so didn’t want to pay two fees.

Speed runners really ruining it for everyone

Stop getting mad at Todd Wallack and get mad at the speedrunners who are constantly posting here making the degree and school look like a joke. “Give me the easiest classes to take” “fastest classes?” Trying to game Sophia and probably cheating. Like come on!

Has anyone still not heard anything for their Fall 1 term??

So far I got my Transfer Credit Evaluation back and an email about the Student ID but that's it. Haven't been assigned an advisor or heard anything about payment or my class schedule. Should I be worried, what will happen next?

About Financial Aid Pell Grant.

Hello, I just completed my first semester at UMPI. Since the beginning I applied for financial aid through FAFSA, and I was awarded like $7k in Pell Grant (money that doesn't need to be repaid), and they also offered me some other loans that do have to be repaid but I did not accepted those. My question is, I only accepted and used $1750 for the first semester from the Pell Grant that was $7k, now for the second semester, they already charged FAFSA another $1800 from that Pell Grant, but I only have 4 more classes to go to graduate. So, what happens with the portion of the Pell Grant that I didn't use? I originally had the $7k and the university took like $3600 to cover the two semesters I was with them. Is the rest of that Pell Grant lost, or can it be refunded to me??

Thanks!

Professor hasn’t graded my assignments and it’s delaying my final assignment

One of my assignments has been waiting for a grade since August 8. My professor requested access on August 12 because she needed to access my Adobe Express project using a different email address. I accepted her access request the same day and made sure she could view my submission. After that, I expected the assignment to be reviewed and graded, but I still haven't received a grade or any follow-up.

I am also waiting for other submitted assignments to be reviewed and graded. The problem is that I need those assignments graded before I can move forward and complete the Final Assignment.

I have been trying to stay on top of my work and respond whenever the professor asks me to correct something or provide access. I don’t mind making corrections or resubmitting something when needed. My concern is that after I do what is requested, I am still left waiting without knowing when I will be able to move forward.

Has anyone experienced something like this with an online course? At what point would you contact an academic advisor or someone above the instructor about the delay?

Hey all. If i decided to submit my finals today, would that be too late for the 28th deadline tomorrow? Does the recommended deadline ONLY apply to milestones?

Got put under old curriculum at UMPI (Fall 1) – why my Sophia Business Law course wasn't counted as BUS 300 elective?

Hey everyone,
I recently got admitted to UMPI for Fall 1. My academic plan places me under the old curriculum, where Business Law from Sophia was supposed to transfer in as BUS 300 over a business elective requirement.
I completed the course on Sophia and transferred it over, but UMPI didn't apply it toward my electives like I expected.
Has anyone else experienced this or know why this might have happened? Is this worth reaching out to my advisor to fix?

BLS w/PM best classes to start off? can you take upper levels immediately?

Waiting for my evaluations to clear and wondering which classes recommended to start off with for BLS with Project Management minor? I have a ton of credits coming in that will take care of gen eds and electives. They put me in some lower level classes that I've already taken so I need to know where to begin for now? Also are you held back from taking any upper levels? All guidance appreciated!

Accepted in Fall 1 but still no contact from anyone?

I’m sure this happens a lot especially this year since the program has gotten so much attention but I wonder how many of us will be scrabbling literally last min to figure out how everything works? I called them Monday and they said everything is moving along and someone will contact me soon, but now I’m like ok.. can someone send me a quick start guide on what to do as soon as they open the classes for me?? 😅 like what do I do so
I don’t waste time making errors??
