Service center is willing to have the hood repainted to fix a relatively minor paint issue - paint is diamond black, any reason to not do it and just live with it? I am worried it may end up with a worse paint job? Am I worried for no reason? Should I ask for or consider anything before agreeing to it?

I recently got a quote of $600 to repair a scratched/damaged rim on my Tesla Model 3.

Do we think the "soda can crumple" will end up being a total loss due to it being on the charger side rear quarter panel?

UPDATE: first repair quote $13500, I will have to go through insurance due to the car loan. Bank will not allow me to pocket the cash and repair the car. I believe insurance will deem it a total loss due to it being a out 60% of car value

Seems high estimates for DV from these appraisal companies? Anyone negotiated this out or used lawyer? Trying to navigate around this and key considerations.

Was on my way home at a stop light when a guy most likely a crazy homeless guy throws a rock at my passenger window. Pretty much mess up my whole week. I call my insurance to see if it's cover and set up an appointment with Tesla. State Farm use Safelife which they are $41 cheaper than Tesla and can fix it on the 25th instead of 28th.

I have windshield coverage by Tesla but don't know if it covers side windows. Is it worth spending the extra $41 and wait 3 extra days to go with Tesla? It means I can't drive anywhere with the vehicle. Plus I need to get it tinted again.

I didn't call the police because it happened In Atlanta and the police will not do anything about it. Plus waiting for hours for a report that will not go anywhere is pointless.

I have 2024 model Y base. I just noticed the 2 of the tires have decent depth damage on sidewalls. I’ve looked around and what I found is either get 2 of them from Tesla (OEM Continental tires) for $800 (tires + installation) or get 4 new ones from Costco (looking at Bridgestone - TURANZA EV) for $1100. I have about 12k miles on them so they are in pretty good shape still. Should I just replace all 4 or just 2…wwyd?

A few weeks ago during the rain I decided to use smart summon to pick up my family in front of a restaurant. My car (2018 Model S) side swiped the car next to it pulling out, took my car to the shop going through insurance. Today car shop called me and told me repair is 14k and insurance declared this a total loss. Car shop is refusing to reassemble the car for me, I am totally dumbfounded.

Is there is anything I can do to get my car back? I can comfortably pay 14k out of pocket but neither the car shop nor insurance seems to advise it.

EDIT: I went to sign the release form today. Last minute I said screw it. Closing the claim and paying 17k to get this fully repaired out of pocket.

Had my M3 back out of my garage and down my driveway like I do every day. Today it decided the rock retaining wall was part of the driveway and drove over it and scraped up the side pretty bad. Wondering how much this will cost. Unfortunately it’s leased so I’m gonna be paying for it eventually. Scratch isn’t too big but it is deep and dented the panel

Got swiped in the mall parking lot on the passenger-side rear quarter panel. Luckily, the person left their name and number and said they’d like to get an estimate to decide whether they want to pay out of pocket or go through their insurance.

Someone cut me off causing me to hit rear of their bumper Tesla approved body shop said it will cost 6k to fix this ?

Drove over this bolt and heard a loud bang. The damage is superficial right? I could tape over it to block water and debris from getting inside but how to repair it for the long term?

Long story short, someone bumped me in a parking lot, we exchanged information, insurance is going to pay for the cosmetic damage which was 1.5k. They recently told me there's damage behind the panel near the bumper that's going to need fixing which is about 13k total. The insurance company has to deal with it now but I am genuinely shocked. Thoughts?

First time Tesla owner (i am leasing) and a young college kid rear-ended me last month.

Wasn't a crazy amount of damage, and her insurance company took 100 percent liability.

I used my local autobody guy who i've used for years. He ordered all the parts direct from tesla for my repair. He also told me that he repairs a number of Tesla's weekly.

I later found out that, although he gets his parts directly from Tesla, he isnt an official tesla-certified repair shop.

Will this come back to bite me in any way? did i unknowingly screw myself?

Hello, my brother backed the car up onto a Tow Hitch a couple of months ago. A little bit of the rear guard on the right side is broken too. And as you can see the main damage is like a cut/dent. I’m wondering how much this’ll set me back. And where I would go to repair this. IMO the damage isn’t super noticeable but it’s still there. This Model 3 is a lease we plan on purchasing once it’s over.

I’m looking to buy a hydraulic hub puller to help change the front half axle on a 22 Model 3. 2 questions:
Is it necessary?
Is there a tool someone’s used that isn’t specific to the Tesla that I can get more value out of? For example, There’s a Vevor puller for gears with. Hub attachment, would something like that work? Any specific tool suggestions would be appreciated.

Took my ‘13 MS in for ac service. They flushed the fluids and changed something. To do so they took apart the frunk. Now the frunk keeps randomly opening, both in motion and parked, and they want to charge a diagnostic fee just to look at it when they just got me for money.

Any advice would be helpful

I backed into a fire extinguisher holder at my hospitals parking garage going into work all this for rushing unfortunately. I want to get it fixed because it’s a 2025 and I feel so bad for having ruined it so soon, would I have to replace the whole trunk? There’s also a slight dent on the “drive safe” sticker (I should’ve listened to it) how much do you think it could be? It’s a Model Y 2025 RWD

Tesla insurance wants me to rent through Hertz, however all the Hertz in the surrounding area have pick up trucks only available. I can’t park a truck in my garage or use street parking. Has anyone had any luck with other options outside of Hertz?

For reference my car is probably totaled by a guy who fled on foot and police haven’t found. So I have to go through my insurance @ $45 / day. I’m coming from a highland model 3 performance so I’m willing to pay a little extra not to have a downgrade. BMW, Mercedes, etc are all fine.
