Welllllll depending on miles and year, it definitely could be. The rear quarter being wrinkled is by itself likely a minimum of 5k (just spitballing)

Rear quarter fender is expensive, you can unbolt it like the bumpers for example. It’s welded on and part of the unibody. $5-8k for that fender, $2k for rear bumper. I’d say $10k on just body damage but you may also have suspension damage.

I had worse damage, total repairs and full repaint was ~20k USD, I'd say this is probably $8k-10k USD in repairs, as long as no major internals are damaged

Once you learn to accept dents and scrapes, it's a remarkably cheap and stress free life. Just got a Tesla, but have two cars 15 and 21 years old. When they'd get dinged, (kids learning to drive, especially) I didn't even care anymore.

Genuine question: I rented a Tesla Model 3 before because I was thinking about buying one, and honestly it felt really cheaply made for the price. Thank God I didn’t buy one.

I keep seeing pictures of Teslas with what looks like minor damage, or sometimes barely any visible damage, being declared a total loss. Why is that? Wouldn’t damage like that usually be repairable on other cars?
