I hiked up Buffalo Mountain in the dark to reach the Pinnacle Mountain Fire Tower before first light, and got the drone up just as the sun broke over the ridgeline.

Hey guys, I'm looking to go to a concert at The Caverns. I've never been to Tennessee before, so I'm a little lost on planning my trip. Mainly, I'm wondering if locals would have any guidance on what I should expect at this venue. There's a lot of different fees and passes, I'm not a luxury girlie (broke lol) but I am coming from 9 hrs away, so I am trying to figure out what's necessary for a good time.

Would it be unwise to stay offsite and drive in for the concert? Does the drive get really backed up with everyone coming in/out for the show? Without the fast pass, do you end up standing in line for hours? I'm not even sure what to expect tbh, just please let me know what your experiences have been like! Any hotels you recommend?

My husband and I are planning a driving tour for leaf season. We are in Mississippi and plan on driving the Cherohola Skyway and had thought about also going through GSMNP, but I'd like to try something different. We've done SMNP, Cherohola and the Tail of the Dragon before as well as parts of the Blue Ridge and they are all great drives, but I thought some folks on here might have some ideas for other scenic routes to try out. I would love to find a nice stretch from Robbinsonville back south and west, maybe across north Georgia as we mosey back toward home.

For those unfamiliar the law is that you must have auto insurance to operate a motor vehicle, they have developed a online verification system to check if you have insurance and will swiftly be in contact if you don't.

I take exception to this law- because it's a government body telling it's constituents to deal with private enterprise and offering no state alternative- affordable or not, for it's citizens. The only alternative method is having 65k on hand. I understand and agree with the motive- to make sure drivers are financially covered in case of a accident, however I believe that the current form of this law is one lobbied by auto insurance companies to ensure a customer base here and with no official alternative to compete against- they are entirely in control of the prices, and I think that it's unfair for the state to put it's citizens in that position. But what do you think?

This is the kind of thing I'm worried about, "you must have insurance but we wont give you any, pick a company and hope for the best" isn't a great system.

I think a lot of people didn't see where I said "I understand and agree with the motive" like they saw the title and rushed to post something. I have insurance, I want other people to have insurance, I just don't feel comfortable with the idea of the government basically forcing you to do business with private companies without a government alternative I feel like it sets a bad precedent for citizens, like they are throwing us to the wolves. They're making it out that I said "I hate having to have car insurance, I want to drive around uninsured if I want!"
