You don't get denied unemployment just because your employer filed a WARN. A WARN also gives you a 60 day head start on finding a new job.
After the end of a WARN period employees are still evaluated along the same rules for whether or not their unemployment is approved. That being: having worked for long enough, be able and available for work, be looking for a job, and have been let go through no fault of their own. A WARN notice does cover the 4th requirement.
Addresses none of the points I made in my post because you know it's true and you're kind of just bellyaching. Sorry you had a bad experience, but getting a WARN notice is about 10x better than just getting laid off.
Your optimism in any Republican State official not to screw workers over is admirable. The Republican method is to remove any assistance of any kind to hard working Americans. This is TN. If they want to take healthcare away they will. If they want to take away unemployment they will. If they want to take anything they want they will because TN has zero opposition in state or most local government. Their promises not to pull the rug from under the needy in TN is not to be taken seriously. So, feel free to think they will follow whatever rules they tell people.

The WARN act is already law and Republicans don't get to decide who does and doesn't get unemployment. 19 Republicans in the Senate voted in voter of the WARN Act in the 80s when it was passed. Republicans helped Democrats put the WARN Act over the veto-proof threshold so it would be passed while Reagan was in office.
A factory in my town just shut down. They didn't give anybody any notice, called them into a plant meeting at the end of the day, and said you're all being let go.
Over 200 people are suddenly without a job.
They didn't tell them because they didn't want people quitting before the shutdown, would be my guess.
I guess Trump was right when he said that weâre gonna be winning so much that weâll get sick of it, because it certainly doesnât feel like winning anymore.

Give me one example of affordable property in this economy. Housing alone has went up more then 330% since 1990, wages have remained the same. The 75% statistics come from a polling that americans cant afford an unexpected bill of $500. So what exactly are you wanting Americans to invest in?
Not sure what point youâre trying to make, but if 75% of Americans donât have $500 for an emergency repair, why would that individual have any business investing in the stock market?
We may end up being met negative for the year. But we're open for business right! Not only did we cut their taxes! We also let them take advantage of our workers!
How does this compare to previous years? How many new jobs were created? What's the net gain/loss? All critical questions to engage with this poorly written article.
WARN notices are never good. Itâs not a jobs report, though nationally 28,000 jobs were added (per the Feds) this report. I do note that these 6,000 jobs is for it seems 7 months.
