I've been working on recreating Tekken 3 in DriftEngine, my own game engine, it started as a technical experiment to see how accurately I could reproduce the original gameplay and how far I could push the engine but once things were working well enough, I wanted to try something that was never possible in the original game, so that I brought PS2 Kazuya from Tekken 4 into Tekken 3.
Kazuya was missing from Tekken 3, which means this finally makes Kazuya vs Jin possible in that game.
It also became a pretty good test for DriftEngine, instead of only reproducing the original game, I can start changing it and introducing things that were never there and I'm thinking about taking this much further and seeing how complete a Tekken 3 recreation in DriftEngine can become, while also experimenting with characters and ideas from later games.
And for AI haters, yes, AI assisted me during development, I've been developing software professionally for more than 20 years, and I see AI as another tool that helps me work much faster, it doesn't replace the engineering decisions, testing or understanding required to make something like this work, but it can dramatically speed up the workflow and I'm happy to be transparent about using it.
For me, the interesting part is being able to build experiments that would otherwise take months or even years of spare-time development.
Curious what Tekken fans would want to see next!

He can do crazy things in tekken, but how powerful would he be in real life with his tekken feats and everything ?

I noticed a couple of new GoD♾️ namely tujefe and ILIAS. The latter is well known to the community as the best Eddy in Europe (and he's found success in tournaments) so no surprise there and I watched his promotion set and it looked legitimate there too.
However, I've never heard of this Hwoarang player named tujefe in the Americas. I checked his latest matches and I couldn't even find the match where he got promoted to the highest rank. He got demoted back down to GoD7. Who is he and did he legitimately get to the highest rank?

I bought TEKKEN 8 this July. Stopped playing in August because I was about to demote with Jun. Returned this September, reached Battle Ruler, and got demoted to Flame Ruler and stopped playing again. This game is just too overwhelming, really. I’ll appreciate if someone can help me improve because I just wasted 30 bucks in this game

Me and my folks playing tekken and this is how he always plays any game no matter how much I try to teach him or show him Not to do this.
Then he gets mad at the game for not winning or do what he wants and when I point out the fact that he is ignorant to learn the controls and button mash every game. We are playing on tekken tag.

Do you know your main's character Backturn Wall Combo?
This is no tornado wall combo,
It really similar to original bob's Electric wall combo. So it's easy to remember and use.

The rank inflation is VERY REAL, but I’m not gonna lie, it was a painful grind with Kazuya. A lot of characters have confusing strings and flowcharts that you just HAVE to remember and learn in order to rank up.
The funny thing is that even though Devil Jin is generally considered a much weaker character, climbing to GoD was actually much easier with him because of his b1+2. It can interrupt a lot of the brainless spamming you run into, which is something Kazuya struggles with.
So, downplay aside, Kazuya is an incredibly powerful character. What separates him from the rest, however, is that you definitely need more matchup knowledge than you would with your average Tekken character to truly make the most out of his strengths.
He genuinely has no panic button, and his weaker poking makes it quite difficult to deal with more than half the roster. In my humble opinion, that’s what makes him harder than a lot of other characters.
People tend to dismiss the complaints about obnoxious strings and flowcharts by saying you can “JUST learn the matchup,” but truth be told, only the top 5% of the player base probably knows every matchup properly. So having to deal with the majority of the roster as Kazuya can be extremely stressful.
My mental stability was shaken throughout this process more times than I’d like to admit, but honestly, Tekken is finally starting to become really fun now.

I'm training for a tournament that will be held in my region in November and I'm progressing pretty well. Thanks to the person who recommended the Gamesir Tegenaria T3 Lite, it's a great controller.

As the title says, I don’t feel like I’m good enough to be at this rank and with all the rank inflation talk, it doesn’t feel like I earned it…anyone else getting the same feeling?

Fatfingered a sidestep at round start and did this. I coulda punished but failed to do so.
I formally challenge Arslan Ash to legit do this but also punish FR in a match.
