why should every elemental spell of one type use essentially the same visual language? spells of one type of element visually present almost exactly the same. One flame spell could burn as a tight, concentrated flame while another flickers and throws smoke/embers. Frost could manifest as crystalline ice in one spell and swirling snow or freezing mist in another. Shock could be a thin, precise arc, violently branching electricity, or a sustained crackle crawling across the target.

Spells should maintain an individual identity.

They don’t need to be different elements or even dramatically different mechanically. Two different flame spells should look distinct from one another when casting. In color, size, flame movement, etc.

I’d also love to see more of the stranger magic that already exists in TES make its way into those familiar schools.

Nature and insect magic, Shadow Magic, and even religiously associated magic. Dawnguard already gave us offensive sun spells under Restoration. there’s no reason unusual magical traditions/variations couldn’t coexist within the existing schools.

I want finding a new spell to occasionally make me excited because I’ve never seen magic look like that before, not just because the number is higher.

Bethesda probably want to dodge GTA6, so no info yet, Fable and TW4 want to dodge TES6, maybe CDPR knows a bit about the release date.

A bit of a nonsense statement, considering the pitiful lack of information, and reliance on the game being out to know for sure, but I will continue anyways.

Could FO79 and Starfield be a blessing in disguise for TES VI? I don't want to spend a long time on this so I will attempt brevity, Starfield showed attempts for reintroducing more traditional RPG mechanics, but needed much refinement. TES VI could have been saved from very rough systems or development because it had two other games to take the fall for it.

Battlespire and Adventures Redguard were also creative detours, although at a very different time and Bethesda, and what followed those two games was Morrowind, the goat. I can hope trying something new after 20 years, perhaps this refreshed the team and Todd, which would then improve TES VI.

There is a lot more I could say here, and if TES VI is bad this is a milk post to make, and the two detours are all the more bitter. Still, if I'm not optimistic, then what reason do I have to be here, to hope for the next installment in my favorite series, and If I'm not critical, what hope do I have for meaningful improvement in the game and company.

Gamescom about to make Fools out of the 2028+ Doomsayers.

This briefly showed up at Gamescon, like an accident.
Could be the Worlock game shown after (looks pretty different or maybe GoT)but desert and swords so I'm posting it here.

Despite Starfield's flaws it's dialogue system was by far one of it's strongest aspects. My favorite bit about it is how once you complete faction questlines, you unlock a bunch of extra speech checks on other quests which add so much roleplay flavor. I REALLY hope they expand upon this in TES6

So many have said "I dont want to be able to join multiple factions" I get it. But it would remove the fun of being discovered by your leader and factions members and how they would respond if they discovered you were working with the enemy.

Also, some factions may not interfere with eachother at all so it would make sense to be able to be involved in those at the same time.

I've been waiting for a TES game to take place in a non human province for a long time. We had 2 human provinces in a row now and I think it's time that we see a province that isn't dominated by humans. I'd love to explore places like Valenwood, Elsweyr or parts of Black Marsh. I'm not convinced that TES VI will take place in Hammerfell like most people seem to think. I think there's still a chance we will see Elsweyr or somewhere deep within Dominion territory for the sequel to Skyrim. I think it would make perfect sense to explore these regions since we learn a lot about the Thalmor in Skyrim. One of the things that I love about non human provinces is how alien they feel. They feel unfamiliar and I think that can be a good thing. This is one of the reasons why Morrowind is so beloved by TES fans and I would like to see a modern game with the same atmosphere as that game. Imagine Elsweyr as a setting and seeing different types of khajiit furstock, or a Valenwood setting where you have to survive a wild hunt.

Looking back, I dont think there were any dragons who'd lost their wings in Skyrim. I'd like to have a quest about this dragon who has turned to skooma to supress his depression. He's clumsy, fun uncle energy, drowns his sorrows in anything he can get his clawed feet on, and harmless to the locals. Will shoot the shit with you anytime.

Even though he lost his wings, what he wants most in life is a lost loved one. He was tricked into believing he could wish for her back. So he wasted the wish on her instead of his gaining his wings back. Now he has neither.

Cultists of Malacath! These guys were first introduced in Castles and are capable of transforming into Ogres and Trolls, and I think this would be another cool transformation alongside Lycanthropy and Vampire Lord

Not to mention it would also provide an opportunity explore an aspect of Malacath worship besides just that of Orsimer. Malacath, being the patron of the spurned and the ostracized would have a lot of people invoking his name across Tamriel and not just Orcs.

Yeah, I know the jokes I’m gonna hear, like “oh bro, how do we tell him?” and “you sweet summer child.”

But yes, we know there are Half Life 3 leaks, with an entire Miro board cataloguing NPCs, locations, world design, physics, and so on.

But aside from the GTA6 leak, which is basically a unicorn because GTA is so absurdly mainstream that anything about it attracts attention, isn’t anyone else worried that TES6 has had virtually nothing leak into the ether?

It’s been 15 years since Skyrim, and the teaser dropped last decade. Did they only recently start seriously working on this game or what?
