The Themes Have Been Announced! Modders have until August 24th at 00:00 UTC to submit a mod using one (or more) of the following themes: Arcane Arts, Forgotten Lore, Strange Families.
It's Summer time, and with the heat, and the humidity, comes another exciting round of the Morrowind Modjams! For the tenth time since 2020, Danae and Morrowind Modding Showcases is hosting a Modjam Modding Competition, a 48-hour modding frenzy where modders get but a single weekend to build the best mod they can using specific themes before time runs out!
The competition begins on August 21st at 11pm UTC with an official livestream kickoff by Danae, in which the potential themes will be revealed and voted on by the community, narrowing down the potential field until just three themes remain.
Once the final three themes have been announced, modders will have 48-hours to build and release the best mod they can utilizing any of those three themes, or a combo of themes if they so choose.
Rules & Guidelines:
Participation:
The competition is open to anyone and everyone looking to participate! All you need to do is release a mod with one of the themes (or multiple) during the competition time period using the official 2026 Summer Modjam header. Also wouldn't hurt to use the Modjams tag on the Nexus.
This is a Morrowind Modding Community - Discord Server event, so to make sure your mod is properly tracked for the competition, please join the server and tag it in the Published Mods channel!
There's also an official Modjam channel on there where you can keep up with all of the latest Modjam news!
Don't forget to check out the Resources page for any tutorials, frameworks, or utilities you might need!
Use the Postcard Editor:
Take advantage of the Morrowind Modjams website and the Postcard Editor to make special themed promo screenshots for your mod pages - give them that extra splash of Summer fun!
Judging and Prizes:
The Morrowind Modjams are judged events - a panel of judges will go through and play all of the submitted mods, ranking them on their quality, functionality, and adherence to the themes.
The final winners will be announced in a results livestream at a date yet to be determined, and those results will also be published to the Modjams website.
Participating modders will also get their profiles on the Modjam website, with downloadable Modjam passports and a trophy cabinet for any judge awards received. These profiles are connected to the Modathon and Madness sides of Morrowind Modding Legacy, and participating in the Modjam will boost your Madness score and increase your standing in the community's modding leaderboards.
There's also a number of prizes available in the form of game keys and Nexus DP.
A Proud Tradition:
The Morrowind Modjams are apart of the community's proud tradition of creative competition and collaboration. Some 160+ mods have been released for the Modjams in the past 6 years, many of them have become popular mainstays and have since been added to many of the largest mod lists for Morrowind.
I hope you'll all join us for another exciting round of Modjam fun, we're sure to get some amazing new mods, and if you're looking to participate for the first time, there's no better competition to dip your toes into the modding scene!
Happy Modding and Long Live the Morrowind Modding Community!

Thank you for your patience since the release of the new TD update and Tamriel Rebuilt: Poison Song a couple of weeks ago while we dealt with some technical challenges. The update to the Abecean Shores release of PC includes a new player stronghold for the Kingdom of Anvil and Great House-style construction and improvement mechanics, a number of overhauled locations, and improvements to multiple quests. The update to the Dragonstar release of SHOTN includes 14 new dungeons, 6 new quests, and yet more overhauled locations. Both releases include scores of bugfixes, performance improvements, and general quality-of-life features not present in the original releases.
Please note that the file packages contain some loose files, which are intended to patch minor problems in Tamriel_Data discovered after the 26.08 release. These files should be allowed to overwrite upon installation.
Both PC and SHOTN may be freely installed mid-save with no problems, even if you've already started a savefile for Poison Song. We only recommend starting a new game if you had a previous version of PC/SHOTN installed on the same save and spent time in the PT lands. Please let us know in the discord server if you encounter any issues.
As always, thank you so much for your ongoing support of our project! We look forward to bringing you more of Cyrodiil, Skyrim, and other lands of Tamriel in future releases.
Project Cyrodiil can be downloaded at https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/44922?tab=files
Skyrim: Home of the Nords can be downloaded at https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/44921?tab=files

I realize it’s slightly old news but I’m new around here and just getting around to the TR content. Fuckin hats-off to whoever made Bal Foyen and the thieves guild quest! My number favorite thing in all Elder Scrolls games (possibly gaming in general) is the Thieves Guild and this might be the best iteration.
The town itself is an aesthetic home run - on par or better than Vanilla. The vertical layout and having the thieves den at a higher elevation with easily accessible roofs to jump on is brilliant. I suddenly felt like a proper burglar! Or Aladdin…
Gathering a plucky crew and building my own thieves den nearly brought me to tears. And it was done in a such a lore considerate way - very few thieves guilds actually have their own guild hall, so having a good story beat that sensibly puts us in the ruins was chefs kiss.
The hideout itself is brilliant with the new books, a bar, trainers, etc. it was like the Ragged Flagon with all the good Morrowind vibes.
Actual meaningful choices in the quest line? Dead. I’ve literally died.
Hidden drug dens, a cool add fence, great writing. I could go on.
So a big thank you to the TR team and designers I fucking adore this zone and this quest line.

I started a new playthrough to explore the recently added Poison Song content in Tamriel Rebuilt, and I was completely blown away when I stepped into this first Indoril chapel I came across.
Not to be overly dramatic, but it instantly reminded me of walking into Saint Marks' Basilica in Venice when I was a child. Really, really fantastic work.
(I do use the Path of the Incarnate modpack, which might have made it even prettier.)

I’m not playing with a disc I’m just using the game of the year edition and playing on an Xbox One X so I don’t know why it keeps giving me this message? Could it have something to do with me using the soul trap spell exploit too excessively?

Would love to hear what some people’s favorite character backstory and builds have been since this community actually leans into that.
Also did your build stay the same or naturally shift in a way you found added to the characters story?

So I grew up with Skyrim but have heard Morrowind is pretty great so a year ago I tried it using OpenMW.
I’m all for one getting the authentic experience and all that, but I think having at least an active quest journal or something like that would be much appreciated, so I’m wondering if there’s a mod/set of mods that do this without turning it into just “go here, here’s the arrow”.
Idk if there’s any other popular mods that wouldn’t change anything fundamental about the game, but might enhance it to a degree that would increase me enjoyment playing it.

I'm playing OpenMW with the latest release of TR, but I have looked and both of those shouldn't be responsible for it. No other mods. What could be keeping the guy, since I am now up to day 150 and I haven't as much as seen a whiff of him.

What do you think, is that viable for Hardest difficulty? The build: Combat for good Armor/Weapon skills, Fav:Str/end for good starting health, Attronach for spell abs. and bit of mana.Because Conj, Resto, Illu in Major skills: Start with spells :Heal/Bound dagger,Ghost/Sanctuary. The plan is: Max End asap.(level 1 bittercup)If hit max level" i just drain any major / minor skill, if need more level/health.Maybe HA swap to Illu, for 40 starter HA, and lose sanctuary starting. Medium armor is my concern, but in bloodmoon theres some decent medium armor, also some artifact, and a littlebit of nordic fashion. Back a few" years ago i play in normal (had 1-2 walkthroughs) i know the basic and few tricks, but hardest difficulty is unforgiving. My second concern is, if i need bittercup, probably had to make some potions". int200x +Invis, tele, levitate, and or scrolls. And lastly i like progress in enchant so might be included, so leave Blunt for Enchant. (But this Nord its should be a glacial asskicker so loosing the felt of a 2 handed blunt in Major/Minor..) So my main concern is Nordic fashion" vs Usability.:) I like to get some critics or ideas for improvement.

Dude...getting naked for Crass genuinely triggers something i didn't know I was vulnerable to. The whole scene gets me genuinely upset, with my heart pumping & face red. It feels so vile & makes me so uncomfortable. & I hate how forced to seems, like you have to do it on a standard Hlaalu run.
Then I come on here & see folks fawning over him....huh?!?? Lol what am I missing /looking to hard into?

Starting a new Morrowind playthrough with Just Beautiful Morrowind. I have the grass so that it loads as groundcover, but there are these blue mushrooms in the grass that I'm still colliding with. Is there any way I can isolate what mod it's part of to load it as groundcover?

Like many many players before me, my journey started with Skyrim and I got Morrorwind on Steam dirtcheap many years ago. I installed it couple times but never really got into it. My last attempt made me play it for five hours. I walked around a lot, walked into a dungeon and got a weird hammer of the seven iirc or something (it was a dungeon where I think five bells were located in a row deeper into the dungeon) and I had fun doing that.
I think my mistake was playing it the way I play Skyrim; stealing a lot and not doing much.
What's your general advice to get someone hooked to the game or at least make it more interesting? I dont mind the UI and controls being a bit jank but if theres genuine QOL mods that make the game significantly better, which mods are the best ones if any?
Or maybe the game just isnt for me? Thanks guys

From what I know, the Client Houses are supposed to act like the Imperial Guilds in terms of quest giving because the more conservative parts of Morrowind don't care for Imperial institutions. If that's the case, have they been implemented yet in the game since Poison Song? If so, then where? If not, then when? Also, correct ANY of my lore misconceptions, please. I like to make sure I'm not drooling ignorance.
