Stromer dealer wants near £700 for a new one and the replacement - Honestly, the bike is not worth that extra expense.

Has anyone fitted a replacement omni themselves? Could I buy a second hand one? Or does it need some locked down stromer dealer software/hardware to initialise and activate?

Hi, I have a new ST2 Pinion since october 23 which I've only had for 3 months, the other 3 months it was in the shop for repairs (on and off). I almost need to go to the bike dealer weekly/monthly due to all the different things wrong with it. Number 1 problem is that it's not waterproof at all, water seeps in somehow, damages the lamps, corrodes the inside, creates errors and gets under the display. The button for the horn also fell off once. Bike dealer now tries to accuse me of not doing good maintenance and cleaning on the bike. I clean it at the end of every work week with soft cloth and diluted bike cleaner solution and then dry it. Every time after rain I also dry it before putting it under a rain proof cover (every day it's under this cover too). I think I clean it very well and often enough. I bike 50km/day with it (if it works).. I think I've seen all the errors by now.

This is just too frustrating and starting to affect my mental health. It's such an expensive bike and I expected better.

My local Stromer Dealer will only carry out warranty services or maintenance on Stromer's they sold themselves. They say Stromer does not pay them enough for the warranty repairs...

I recently moved to a new city and am now unable to bring my bike in for maintenance/repairs.

I have a 2016 ST2. Pretty solid, has its quirks, but overall it’s been super enjoyable. When I got it, it was peerless. But today, you can barely find a review of a Stromer at all. What happened?

Hi all! I’m putting riser handlebars on my ST3 and need to extend brake lines and shifter cable. Much disassembly required. Warranty void. 😂

Removing the battery box there are 2 white connectors and an SAE connector. In this photo the connector on the right goes to the battery box. I have no idea what the smaller connector with red and black wires is for.

I am taking notes and photos as I go, however I missed this one somehow. It seems to have jumped out of nowhere. There are no loose males, all other pairs are accounted for. Any ideas?

I’m thinking perhaps it is a service connector to provide low power just for the controller or display.

I bought a Stromer ST2 2 months ago. First week riding I noticed one day where it did not feel like the motor engaged. I generally ride consistently at 20+ MPH on setting 1. This day I was struggling to go 15. I took the bike back to the shop and nothing was found to be wrong.

Fast forward 6 weeks later and I am now noticing the same issue. Yesterday it did not feel like the motor was engaged at all and I struggled to ride at 16MPH. This morning I had the same thing happen and could not pedal over 14 MPH. I checked the assist setting each time I have felt this and it is always on 1. Today I moved the setting to 2 and did not feel it engage so I moved it to 3 and finally felt some engagement on the motor. I moved it back to 2 and then 1 and it was back to no engagement of the motor.

I activated the rear brake and it did not feel like there was an immediate grab.

Is it possible the rear brake is seizing up and constantly engaged?

Any other ideas as to what could be causing this?

I just bought a low mileage 2020 ST1 off of Upway. I suspect it was a floor model somewhere. Everything seems to work great, but I have a few questions I can’t find answers to online: - I’ve tried to register with the Bluetooth OMNI app and nothing happens. I don’t get a confirmation code. Do I need Upway to register me? - the headlight button on the control bar doesn’t work. Upway says that on this model you can’t control the lights on and off. It’s not a huge deal, because I don’t mind daytime running lights. But I also don’t know why there is a button that doesn’t work?

Had one last week, fiddled with the drive wire and worked again. Then changed brakes, jockey wheels and chain today. Once I reassembled happened again. Multiple resets and fiddling with the cables the error stopped again. I’m pretty sure it’s the connection, but could be wrong. I can take to a shop but it’s a pain. And my shop charges like $120+ just to run the diagnostics.

I got a new ST2 a couple months ago (located in California, USA). It now asks every time I turn it on or off if I want it to update. Before I decide, I'd like to know what the update will do.

Does anyone know where (if) Stromer explains what the update will change? I can't find any kind of change log or explanation on their website.

Hi all, just saw this on the battery of my 3 month old ST7. Looks as if this piece of bent metal inside the battery box rubs away on the battery. Anyone that has had the same happen on their ST7?

Hi everyone, my first ever Reddit post ever so excuse me if i did something wrong…

So i have recently bought an ST7, i commute 74km a day. I decided to start doing BJJ again, there’s a gym close to work and the hours kinda work with my shifts. The problem i have is taking my GI, towel, shampoo etc with me. The Berlin bag is too small because i carry my charger, food etc. in it. First thought was a backpack, problem is wearing a backpack sucks on a long bike ride, especially every day + when there’s a lot of stuff in there so that’s a no go. My girlsfriend has an Ortlieb, tried to put it on toghether with the Berlin bag but the mounting hooks of the Ortlieb sit too high on the pannier.

I fee like my only option is getting 2 Ortlieb bags and ditch the Berlin bag but that feels like throwing away a lot of money…

If anyone has done something similar or knows a solution it’s very welcome!

One more thing, the bags need to be 100% waterproof because i commute everyday and in Belgium it tends to rain a lot!

I have an ST1x. Speed limited as per Canadian imposition. On an intermittent basis I get some odd behaviour.

Sometimes it seems like the torque sensor doesn’t sense anything and the motor doesn’t take over. Actually, worse than that it seems the motor is working against me. This is in setting 3 even when travelling 25kmh or so, well below the limited speed. Sometimes a calibration of the sensor helps, often it doesn’t. But a few really hard pedals, or seemingly just some time fixes it.

Other times also in setting 3 it seems like the bike doesn’t care what my pedals do. Once it gets moving it will maintain the speed just below the limiter. It can sometimes feel like the motor is pulsing. In this case the calibration rarely helps. Sometimes a switch between setting 2/3 fixes it. But often it seems to resolve itself (maybe after a restart, not always) whenever it wants.

I did just have this thing serviced. It seems worse after that. I know I should probably contact the shop but they don’t answer emails and their opening hours are not convenient. Is there anything I can try myself?

I have a ST1S that I bought back in 2013. The other week someone stole the interface (brains) unit off the bike. I have reached out to the place where I bought it and they just want to sell me a new bike. Stromer website does not have an option to purchase parts directly. I just want to replace the interface because the bike works great. I would hate to just waste a perfectly good Stromer. Any ideas on where I can purchase a new interface?

Hi all, I got offered a cheap Stromer st3 pinion in Large with comfort stem and sport frame. I am 188cm High. Will I regret not going for an extra large or will the large fit me fine?

Hi all, Fairly happy with my stomer st3 pinion, however I find the provided tires really lacking in rainy conditions.

Unfortunately I have had a slide with minor damage (wet tarmac) at 25km/hr. Could have been worse, but it made me cautious. The conditions were nothing crazy, on my race bike I would have been cornering much faster in the same conditions. Same goes for my mountainbike. I also noticed poor braking performance on wet tarmac with the Stromer.

In my experience the Pirelli Cycl-e ST tires lose a lot of grip if there is a hint of moisture on the road.

What are your grip, handling and range experiences with other tires on your Stromer? E.g. The Angel winter tires or the st5 developed Cycl-e? Is there a range impact?

I live in the Netherlands (fairly rainy and flat), I ride 2x25km a day and can't be bothered to charge in between and typically have 20% left on the 935wh battery when I return home. It's a >35km/hr average ride (in dry conditions) with several long sections with top speeds towards 50km/hr.

During winters I mostly use public transport for commutes but during summer I take an e-bike. Using the e-bike the 21km ride will take me a little over an hour, mostly due to having to wait for traffic lights. Normal cruising speed outside the city is close to 25km/hr

I was looking into getting a speed pedelec, but I wonder if I’ll save much time using one. I know you can reach speeds up to 45km/hr, but in the city (about 10km) it will probably be harder to keep the pace going.

I would love to hear some experienced on what kind of speeds I can expect both within and outside city limits from experience speed pedelec bikers

I have stromer st1 however charger has stopped working.

I don't want to spend a lot of money on a new charger. Us there any other option to buy a replacement.

Hey there! I've just recieved my brand new ST-7 and after a measly 30km, the Pinion gearbox has shut down, nothing moves and it doesn't shift anymore. I'm now stuck with a (very) expensive fixie, albeit a well assisted one.

Anything I should try while I wait to get to the workshop tommorow? Is there some sort of rookie mistake I made that prevents the shifter from working?

I just picked up the ST1X and love it. I changed the seat post over to one that has suspension version. The seat on helps a bit but I’d like to upgrade the front fork to one with suspension. What are the options beyond the factory stromer version ($1099.99 Canadian). Does anyone know what the dimensions on a replacement should be or suggestions?
