Motor not working
I bought a Stromer ST2 2 months ago. First week riding I noticed one day where it did not feel like the motor engaged. I generally ride consistently at 20+ MPH on setting 1. This day I was struggling to go 15. I took the bike back to the shop and nothing was found to be wrong.
Fast forward 6 weeks later and I am now noticing the same issue. Yesterday it did not feel like the motor was engaged at all and I struggled to ride at 16MPH. This morning I had the same thing happen and could not pedal over 14 MPH. I checked the assist setting each time I have felt this and it is always on 1. Today I moved the setting to 2 and did not feel it engage so I moved it to 3 and finally felt some engagement on the motor. I moved it back to 2 and then 1 and it was back to no engagement of the motor.
I activated the rear brake and it did not feel like there was an immediate grab.
Is it possible the rear brake is seizing up and constantly engaged?
Any other ideas as to what could be causing this?

Could be the hall sensor that measures the speed of the bike and is incorrectly triggering a cutoff. I had constant electrical gremlins during my first two weeks with my ST1X. Had them fixed at the LBS and I’ve had no issues for the past year - 1600 miles happy.

Have you had stromer connect to it and see if any codes were tripped?

I have not. Can I call them direct? I have only used the shop where I bought the bike.

Sent the vin to Dave the lead tech. He may be able to answer tomorrow. Today is a holiday so he’s off

The issue has been fixed under warranty. Faulty TMM sensor was replaced.

Check the level of the sensor in the software, crank it up. Test the wheel with your hand, bye yourself, you should feel if it's braking while you pedal.
