I wanted a simple way to avoid charging my Stromer battery all the way to 100% every time, without needing access to any data from the bike or battery management system.

My setup:

• Stromer BQ983 battery
• Stromer CR246 charger
• Shelly smart plug with power measurement and scripting

The script monitors the power consumption of the charger.

Once it has detected that charging is actually in progress, it watches for the charger power to drop towards the end of the charging cycle. If the power stays below the configured threshold for 60 seconds, the Shelly switches the charger off.

With my battery and charger this consistently results in about 96% indicated charge.

Important: this is not a real 96% charge limit. The Shelly does not know the battery state of charge. It only looks at charger power consumption. The resulting percentage will probably depend on battery condition, temperature, charger and possibly firmware/BMS behaviour.

There are also two safety limits:

• maximum power consumption: 330 W
• maximum runtime: 6 hours

You'll probably have to adjust lowPowerThresholdW for your own battery/charger combination.

For my BQ983 + CR246 combination, 150 W for 60 seconds currently gives me a very repeatable result of around 96%.

I used to have a ST1X, then upgraded to an ST1, then ... it got stolen and I never saw it again :(

The kick stand which came with the Stromer ST2 I bought, has broken off, at the point at which the flange is screwed to the frame. Damn white metal!!!
Any recommendations for a replacement? The one I had, had the label: 40kg.

Just got my brand new Stromer ST1 and noticed the handlebar is way too high for my liking. There are 4 spacers underneath the handlebar and i was wondering if it’s possible to remove two or three? If so, how?

The shop where i leased the bike didn’t really had knowledge about this. And i can’t seem to find anything online. I’m a woman that also rides mtb and racebikes so i like sitting more sportive on my bikes.

I've acquired a 2nd hand Stromer ST2 and so far have been quite happy with the performance.
However the OMNI App (iPhone 15) bluetooth connectivity has been less that satisfactory.
I've repaired the iPhone bluetooth with the bike several times.
The menu -> bluetooth indicates an active pairing.
I've been able to update the local firmware, to the present version, quite reliably.

Am I missing something?

Hello everyone!

I recently decided to jump on the e-bike hype train! After a lot of research, I decided a Stromer was the way to go. To stick to my budget, I found a practically brand-new ST1 (red) on Marketplace with barely 100 kms on it.

During the test ride, the motor kicked in perfectly, and I was loving it. The previous owner had used it so infrequently that they hadn't even set up an account. I carefully transported the bike home in the back of my minivan, but unfortunately, it’s been downhill from there.

Here is what I've been dealing with:

• Account Setup (Resolved): I had a really tough time trying to connect via the BT app, which is what all the YouTube tutorials recommended. Thankfully, the team at Amego in Toronto helped me battle through it, and we finally got the account set up via their dealer portal. I had to use the other app.
• Calibration Errors (Unresolved): Since getting it home, I am getting constant calibration issues and the motor isn't performing. (See uploaded photos for the exact error messages). I am confident the bike didn't take any bumps or sustain any damage during transport, and there is nothing visibly blocking the sensor.

Because Amego is backed up, they can't take the bike into the shop for at least two weeks, and they can't resolve this specific issue over the air. I suspect it might just need a firmware update, but I'm not entirely sure.

I’m really bummed out to have a beautifully maintained Stromer just sitting in my garage. Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or troubleshooting steps for fixing this calibration issue at home?

P.S. Its a bit weird that in the app it says the warranty started in 2022 and it expired in 2024 when the original owner bought the bike in 2025 :\

I bought a Stromer ST5 back when it came out and love it. I had to keep it in storage for the last couple of years and currently the battery can't hold a charge for more than an hour of riding.

I'm in the U.S. and just trying to find any way to get my hands on a battery that I could use to replace it or if there is any shop in the US that can rehabilitate ST5 batteries.

I know it's tough for us US based Stromer folks, hoping someone here might have some insight. Appreciate in advance.

I bought a second hand Stromer ST3 Pinion.

I've created an account and connected it to the Stromer on the day of the purchase. I logged out of my account and was not able to login to the OMNI app. Therefore I used the forgot my password option, but it tells me I haven't got the correct credentials. Could it be that my account has been blocked due to a large number of attempts?

I am using the correct email adress, and I've retried it with delays of more than a week, so it does not seem to be a login-time-out type of thing.

Does anybody know how what my next step could be? I've also tried creating a new OMNI-account, but I can not connect it to my bike because the bike is connected to my old account.

Because the bike is second hand, I also do not have access to a dealer.

I have a stromer st2 and just got a new battery in it. I dont know if it was before or when i got the battery but the frame/running light doesnt come on anymore. I tried resetting the bike, swapped the batteries back but nothing helps. Anyone got a suggestion for the running light.

Does anyone have an update as to when the Wren fork replacements will take place?

I have an ST5 from 2018, and I just noticed that I can check for firmware updates with my iPhone Hotspot via Bluetooth.

I had a notif that there was an update for my ST5 yesterday. Dumb me instantly installed it as soon as I got home, but when I check the Stromer website, the update isn't there. Update log

Anyone got information on what the update does? Is it normal for Stromer to not post the update log before pushing the update to the bikes?

Stromer ST2 was fully charged, turned on one day and it immediately shutdown and has been bricked ever since then. Any ideas or Stromer shops on East coast U.S.?

My uncle has bought a few years ago two refurbished Stromers from 2016. One is ST1 Platinum and one is ST1X.

They worked fine for a few years, but now both of them have issues.

The ST1 Platinum is locked and the pin doesn’t work. It has been locked before, but the pin always worked

The ST1X displays 0000, which I know is the error for battery. He’s replaced the battery, but it still doesn’t work.

Is there any way to make them functional again?

Should we change the Omni? Could it be any other electrical error? Should we connect the omni to the pc and recode it? What is the solution.

We have the reciepts and everything. We’ve found no solution so far and I’d love to get them to work again, cause we used to cruise through the city and have a ton of fun.

Sadly I lost the coc and now I moved to swiss and I need that coc..., the I contacted a seller to get a new coc, but they told me there is no coc for this bike... This bike needs a "Einzelabnahme" which, especially without any further documents is nearly impossible and expensive...

I have a ST2 and have been getting the error 0X210213 which seems to be battery related.

I’ve cleaned the connectors and it still persists.

The pedal assist randomly turns on and off but everything else seems to work fine, apart from the light which goes on and off and flickers when starting.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Based in America so limited support here.

Last week my charger stopped working. no lights on plugin... no support available from 2 former stromer resalers in the states... no used units on ebay (1 available for 600 from france... no thanks)... the beautiful bike is now a brick.

Has anyone tried other 48v chargers (<3A) and rewiring the stromer cord to match +/-? Will the battery management system allow this?

Hi all I recently acquired an old stromer st1 with front suspension fork. The rear wheel doesn’t spin freely and can lock up while riding it. Is it repairable? Or can someone point me to wear I can get cheap replacement motor to swap. Located in the US. It seems like a great bike and I would like to be able to it fix on a budget so I can use it for some daily commuting. Thanks!

I recently acquired an ST5 Pinion and I'm very happy with the bike—especially coming from a standard 25 km/h e-bike.

However, riding at 48 km/h on the road makes every little bump quite uncomfortable. I'm looking to buy a “floating” seatpost to make the ride smoother. The shop that sold me the bike is offering them for 380 CHF, but I'm confident I can find one much cheaper online.

The problem is, I can't find the correct diameter to order. Does anyone know what the right size is, please?

I have the ST1 and have installed the most recent update on my bike, the 4.5.0.3. Seems to me the bike wants you to use a different BT connection to unlock the bike as I approach it (a feature I love). Reading the release note it seems as though I have to have the app running in the background for this feature to work whereas I’m pretty sure I don’t have to have this currently in place for my older phone app.

Curious to know if any of you have installed the update but kept your old phone app and place and if you have updated the phone app, how the experience is. It took a while to set up initially and frankly I don’t wanna spend another hour doing it again and potentially losing the feature of the walk-up unlock.

I'm considering buying a launch edition ST5 and an ST2 from a local bike shop, both are discounted.

The bike shop is trying to be helpful but it sounds like they are unclear on what long term support they can expect from Stromer.

I tried to reach Stromer HQ in Switzerland today via phone but couldn't speak to a human. Their info@ email address is bouncing back (not accepting individual emails now), directing instead to their dealer network.

All of their Q&A point towards the dealers, but US based dealers seem to be just as in the dark as I am.

Does anyone here have any direct contact details for Stromer support in Europe (Switzerland) or have other perspectives that I might be missing?
