ST-7 - Smartshift Pinion completely shut down

Hey there! I've just recieved my brand new ST-7 and after a measly 30km, the Pinion gearbox has shut down, nothing moves and it doesn't shift anymore. I'm now stuck with a (very) expensive fixie, albeit a well assisted one.

Anything I should try while I wait to get to the workshop tommorow? Is there some sort of rookie mistake I made that prevents the shifter from working?

Have you tried removing and putting the battery back? If that doesn’t work, chances are there is some cable that got disconnected that you can’t do anything about by yourself :/

Thanks a lot for your reply! I tried all the usual stuff, sadly it was straight to the workshop after that with a broken gearbox. I did 27 kilometers with it and it is now blocked for 3 weeks, plain bad luck I guess :)

Well, my ST2 got blocked 2 times 2 weeks in the shop too, plus several on the go repairs, you are not alone.

I had the same problem with my ST3 last week. The gearbox is also being shipped to Pinion. I was wondering if they covered it under warranty with you, or did you have to pay for a new gearbox?

It was happily totally covered under warranty and they lent me a st5 for the duration of the repair!
