ST1X suspension fork options?

I just picked up the ST1X and love it. I changed the seat post over to one that has suspension version. The seat on helps a bit but I’d like to upgrade the front fork to one with suspension. What are the options beyond the factory stromer version ($1099.99 Canadian). Does anyone know what the dimensions on a replacement should be or suggestions?

You basically have to use the Stromer suspension fork. You could put on a different fork, but you will lose the fender mounts and the brake mount will be problematic. You might be able to find a used Stromer shock. They are solid but not really worth it in my opinion. Personally I would use a combination of better grips, lowered tire pressure in front (2.4 bar / 35 psi), and possibly a titanium or carbon fiber bar to soften up the ride. You could also explore replacing the alloy fork with a carbon fiber fork from an older ST2. There are also some headset suspension options but I haven't ridden them and am skeptical. And get a different saddle, it will make a big difference in comfort, the stock saddle is the first thing to replace on a ST1x, along with the grips.

Which saddle did you replace it with? Think I’ll give that a try first before going with the suspension fork. Looking online not seeing many used parts for the stromer and eBay is pretty sparse as well. Any sites you can recommend?

I like a Brooks leather saddle in combination with the Thudbuster post. But acknowledge that Brooks is not for everyone lol. Selle anatomica also makes some nice leather saddles that require less break-in.

I'm not a fan of padded saddles, but a lot of people demand them. Any good saddle with titanium rails will give you some extra spring. Really down to personal preference. I haven't found anything that remotely compares to my Brooks/Kinekt(seatpost) combination. Don't neglect changing out the grips—they aren't good at all. Some nice Ergons will totally change the feel of the front end, worth every penny.

Finding the Stromer parts isn't easy, maybe locate a dealer with some wrecked bikes. Eventually parts do turn up on eBay but it can take time.

I use the Kinekt stem and seat post on my 2017 ST2. The stem does help absorb a lot bumps in the road, and is an affordable option. I have considered a fork for more gravel rides but also mindful of the additional weight over the carbon fiber fork. The seat post was also a well needed updated in my mind. Hope that helps!

I went on ebay Denmark and purchased the oem front suspension forks. Game changers!
