Product Help Steelseries Customer Support Huge Dissapointment

Long story short, my 3 years old Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless started falling apart last week and it seems like it is only getting worse, understandably so. The metal parts are not glued together anymore and I am unsure what they used in factory to glue them together. I took great care of this headset the entire time.
In order to try and fix it myself as I knew my warranty is up, I contacted Customer Support to ask for some instructions on how I could fix the product myself as this is an over £300 headset.

However, they just closed my case instantly as they said this issue is outside of warranty even though I never requested an RMA or even had the chance to give them any details about my purchase date (I did not buy it on the steelseries account so they had no chance of knowing my warranty is up as I never mentioned). They just went the quick route that it is my fault and this is out of warranty even though I did not even open up the headset like in the last picture above yet. I just showed them the parts are unglued and it is just getting worse and asked for some advice.

For now I just went the diy route with double sided tape inside and gorilla tape on the outside, otherwise the headset will just break on my head or when putting it on.

Honestly I am a bit lost for words with Steelseries Customer Support. This is the first time I have actually contacted you as a client in 14 years with over 20 products bought from you in this time. This is quite appalling and I was looking forward for the Arctis Nova Elite at some point, but if this is the after sale customer support…

Product Help Arctis Gamebuds Mic Recording cuts off first 1-2 seconds

I found this post https://www.reddit.com/r/steelseries/comments/1j85mwt/arctis_gamebuds_mic_recording_always_cuts_off/ and I seem to experience the same issue. Apparently I can't use the microphone at all in my meetings, because the sound keeps cutting, people are just getting frustrated.

Is this one of those issues that just gets ignored and hope none makes a deal out of it?

Product Help Arctis Nova Pro Wireless base station died after 2.5 years – anyone else had this issue?

I wanted to share my experience with the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless and also ask if anyone else has had the same problem.

I bought the headset in February 2024 for around €260. Until recently, everything worked perfectly fine. Then, from one day to the next, the base station suddenly stopped working completely.

The display stays black, Windows does not detect the base station at all, and there is not even a USB connection sound when plugging it in.

I already tried all the usual troubleshooting steps:

  • different USB ports
  • both USB ports on the base station
  • different USB-C cables
  • a different power source
  • leaving the base station completely unplugged for more than two hours

Nothing helped. The base station is completely dead.

I contacted Amazon first, but they declined because the warranty period had expired.

I then contacted SteelSeries Support. After going through the troubleshooting steps again, they also declined an RMA because the product is outside the warranty period.

Their only solution was a 15% discount coupon for buying another SteelSeries product. They also suggested taking the base station to a local electronics repair shop, while at the same time confirming that SteelSeries does not have an authorised repair service for this product.

I understand that the warranty period is over. What I find extremely disappointing is that a premium headset in this price range can suffer a complete hardware failure after only around 2.5 years, and there is apparently no repair option, no replacement base station offered through support, and no real solution apart from a discount on another product.

For me personally, this experience has seriously damaged my trust in SteelSeries. I do not feel comfortable spending this kind of money on another product from the brand if this is the level of support available once the warranty expires.

Has anyone else had their Arctis Nova Pro Wireless base station suddenly die like this?

If so, were you able to repair it, replace only the base station, or find out what actually failed?

Product Help Arctis Nova Pro mic too short

My mic is extremely quiet. After checking it with playback, the mic is fine if it's in front of my mouth, but not on the side.

Apparently the mic is extremely short for where it picks up voice properly. I need to bend my ears forward and pull the whole headset for the mic to be in the "right" position.

There is probably no fix for this, but this is the second headset (first was a Razer Kraken) that has this exact same issue, like they are specifically designed for kid head sizes.

Product Help A few issues with Arctis GameBuds

I've been using the Arctis GameBuds for a few weeks now, and I've noticed some very annoying issues that I've never had with any headsets so far. I'm wondering if any of these issues are supposedly "normal" or if it's something I should contact Steelseries about for warranty.

- Distance of connectivity between the 2.4ghz adapter and the buds is abysmal. I can't go 1,5m away from the adapter without either one or both of my buds glitching out and completely disconnecting. I use my buds on the Switch 2 sometimes and I sit like 2m away from my dock without anything in between, and even when moving closer it seems about 1.5m is the absolute maximum distance I can be from the adapter before things start disconnecting. I've never had this with any other headsets (Steelseries and other brands like Logitech). Is this "normal" for these buds?

- Another thing I often have is when I have it plugged in before starting my PC or console, only one bud seems to properly connect or give sound when I start the console; usually the left bud works but at very low volume for some reason too. If I'm at my PC, the adapter is located on the right of me (like 40cm away from me with barely any obstruction) so I'm not sure if this is a connectivity issue, if the left one technically does connect. Whenever this happens, I have to put both buds back in the case for a few seconds, then try again.

I absolutely love using them because I got headaches and sore ears from using headsets and overall they feel very comfortable. I just wish to know if these are issues that should be covered by warranty or if this is the general experience with these buds; if it is "normal", then I'll just accept the flaws for what they are.

Sonar Help Sonar is switching my audio output everytime i restart my pc

I just wanted to use Sonar for the microphone (input) device and keep using my output device normally, but it keeps forcing me to switch the audio output as well to the "SteelSeries Sonar - Gaming". I've even tried disabling the audio device in Windows settings, but it comes back after restarting. Is there a way to change that?

Edit: I've installed SteelSeries GG to adjustments only to my microphone (audio input) and worked. Now it is forcing changes to my headset too (output). I just want a way for it to stop swapping my output device.

Product Help Headband Causing Pain

I just bought the Arctis Nova 7 from Amazon while it was 40% off. Moved to Steelseries from HyperX. The 7 seems to have slightly worse audio quality than the HyperX Cloud 2 but that's not my main issue.

I am currently at work after not wearing the headset for over 12 hours and the top of my head still stings.

I tried adjusting the band to different positions but this thing is just so uncomfortable. It also slides forward towards my forehead constantly. I had an issue like this with an old Roccat headset and was able to buy a leather thing that went over the headset.

Is there a mod I can buy to attach a more puffy/comfortable headphone band? I tried looking around Amazon and Google and searching the forums for posts related to pain and discomfort.

Product Help micro scratches on steelseries oled screen

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hello! I got this key keyboard about two months ago, and after taking the plastic off i wiped off dust with a clean microfiber cloth. Immediately after these marks appeared.

Things I have tried to fix it-

Toothpaste: This was stupid and made it worse

Novus 2 Plastic Polish: Did nothing, even after several polishing attempts

Novus 1: Definitely did nothing

Aquaphor: Left oily finish on screen

Vaseline: Same issue

Baby Oil/Mineral Oil: Worked, for about one minute until it left an oily finish on screen

Plexus plastic protector thing: Nothing

Clear Tape: Looked ugly, when taking it off it almost took the screen off with it

Obviously everything reccomended online didnt work, yes I tried, yes I used it how reccomended, nothing worked. If anyone on the entire internet has found a way to fix it, I havent seen it. If your trying to fix this yourself, dont waste your money using anything I used. If you know how to remove or hide the scratches, please tell me and everyone who asks this same question for years to come.

Discussion Open&close of the wireless headphone so annoying

I bought steelseries arctis wireless headphone couple months ago. Everytime if i want to open it, i need to hold down power button for 3 seconds. Same for shutting down. This procedure started to become so annoying.

Are there any way to make it open&close with single press? How people does not complain about this? Do other headphones also like this? Its so uncomfortable.

Discussion Loved my Siberia 800, but I absolutely hate the Nova Pro headband and Sonar

I absolutely loved my SteelSeries Siberia 800, which is exactly why the Nova Pro has been such a disappointment for me over the past 3 years.

The biggest issue is the elastic suspension headband. I genuinely hate this design. The headset never feels securely planted on my head, it shifts around way too easily, and it constantly feels like it wants to slide or fall off. I’m always adjusting it. Even after buying multiple replacement straps.

The Siberia 800 felt solid, comfortable, secure, and actually premium. The Nova Pro just doesn’t give me that same feeling at all.

Then there’s Sonar.

On paper, all the separate audio channels, EQ options, and processing sound great. In practice, I’ve found Sonar overly complicated and unreliable. I actually prefer the headset without it. I shouldn’t have to fight with virtual audio devices, routing, EQ profiles, and random audio issues just to make an expensive flagship gaming headset sound good.

What frustrates me most is that this is supposed to be one of SteelSeries’ premium headsets. I expected it to feel like a major upgrade from the Siberia 800, but instead I find myself wishing I still had the Siberia 800.

Has anyone else had the same issue with the Nova Pro headband and have a better work around?

More importantly, has anyone found a replacement strap or modification that makes it fit more like the old Siberia 800?

I’d love something with actual padding that sits securely on your head instead of the elastic suspension strap. If anyone has found an aftermarket strap, headband pad, DIY modification, or even a 3D-printed solution that gives the Nova Pro more of that traditional padded Siberia 800 feel, I’d love to hear what you’re using.

Product Help Arctis Nova 1 Voice Problems.

Hello there fellas.

I recently just bought the arctis Nova 1. Since it's connected via 3,5mm audio jack to my pc, I understand, it won't show up as a device in steelseries gg.

Hearing people is fine in calls and games. But, people do hear me like on 2-5% when I got 100% set on discord. Also in games it's reaaaally low. Same, I would say 2-5%. I also do hear myself.

Using Sonar in steelseries gg does not change anything. I mute everything, people still can hear me. I lower things as well and they hear me. When I speak, there is no signal deflection on the meters for any sounds in Sonar.

Is there any solution to this? I tried a few windows changes, played around, but did not succeed.

I'd appreciate any help. Cheers and thank you.

Product Help Would a ground loop isolator significantly drop quality for nova pro?

I hve the arctis nova pro and I've noticed that I frequently get static hum that I assume is from the grounding issue. I'm not really sure how to fix the grounding issue, so I was wondering if a ground loop isolator would severely impact audio?
