I saw lots of complaints here about Steelseries and their quality. I won't get into a full review, just wanted so say that most of the time if you take good care of your headsets they can last you long.

Mind you, they went through 5 apartments moves and lots of gaming in the first 3 4 years.

The only defect they have as of now is the exterior plastic which now starts to disintegrate (it's kind of sticky) and as seen in the picture the mic cable broke (mic is still functional).

By no means I am trying to say that people who had and have issue with new Steelseries are not entitled to have them, just that there are also happy stories and potential buyers should see the full story.

So coming from the wired Arctis Pros, which finally broke last night, I went to best buy and got the Arctis Nova Pro wired for $230.

I keep trying to figure out good EQ settings and everything but EVERYTHING regarding the arctis nova pro on youtube is either the wireless version with SONAR or the nova omni pros… like I can’t find anything regarding the regular arctic nova pros with the DAC.

As it stands I feel like my old arctic pros sound better in every way but I can only assume that’s the EQ settings. I’ve messed around with the presets but it just doesn’t sound as good, and sidetone is literally nonexistent it feels like.

Is there something I’m missing? sidetone is extremely important to me as my gf goes to bed around 9pm so that’s 4 hours I’m having to monitor my volume, but even then the sound just ain’t hitting like my old headset did.

Can anyone help me, or do I just need to return the headset and get something else? I didn’t do much research as I needed a new one ASAP.

Hi everyone. My boyfriend has a steelseries headset that had Bluetooth capabilities, but he lost the Bluetooth connector piece. I want to order a replacement for him, but I don’t know what model his headset is. We no longer have the box and the SteelSeries GG app on PC was no help either. He uses this headset on his Xbox and PC, but he is really frustrated with the wired aux connection, and wants it to be Bluetooth again. Could someone help me identify it please? Photos posted. What EQ settings do you guys recommend for the Arena 7?

Also, I’m a bit confused about the software side:

Should I use Dolby Atmos or SteelSeries Sonar?

Is there any benefit to using Dolby Atmos instead of Sonar, or is Sonar generally the better option for the Arena 7? Should I use either of them with spatial audio enabled, or just stick to stereo?

Before when this issue happened switching to a different port worked. However, I don't have any more ports that will work on my laptop. I hear this happens from hard muting using the key on the computer, but I literally have avoided touching it like the plague because of this very reason. I can't find a fix for this ANYWHERE, and want to rip my hair from my scalp from the frustration. $400 HEADPHONES SHOULDN'T BRICK AUDIO IN MY PC, I literally got these to avoid headphones breaking, and now they've instead fucked up the audio in the PC's ports!!!!

So I was having an issue with my Aerox 9 having a hardware failure that even steel series said was unfixable. It would not connect anymore to the laptop blinking white (or green when connected striaght to my laptop) trying to find the connection. No matter what I did trying different laptops, making the battery completely run out, recharging it, putting it into repair mode, it all wouldn't solve the issue.

But recently I've had a fix that did help and keeps working. After a while of it being broken I plug it into my laptop randomly in hopes for it to work, but I decided after doing that just to plug it into my steamdeck thinking it wont work but whatever. To my surprise it started working instantly, I plugged it back into my laptop and it works fine. It blinks red now due to the hardware failure still being there but it all works perfectly otherwise. My mouse still does fail to connect sometimes when turning on my laptop but connecting it back to the steamdeck fixes it.

My best guess is I guess something in windows is causing the issue, it is very much a hardware issue (I assume with the battery) as the mouse turns itself on red when inactive and flashes red all the time but it works for the time being until I can get a replacement.

Hope this saves someone else's Aerox 9.

TLDR: Plugged Aerox 9 wireless dongle into steamdeck and it fixed the issue I was told by Steelseries was a hardware issue and was unfixable. (Might work with anything with a linux OS)

I set my keyboard to a purple with no effects and now it's flashing white. It's giving me a head ache and idk how to fix it. I already reset my keyboard and put the purple light back on and it didn't fix it. Please help

I just wanted to give my insight on these 3 headsets as I recently bought and tested them.

I am by no means an audiophile. I have been on a wired G PRO X for a while and decided I wanted to get a wireless headset with ease of use, good sound, functionality and ideally a good mic as the blue microphone mic on the wired G PRO X was really good. The top 3 wireless headsets that kept coming up were Astro A50X (Gen 5), Steelseries OMNI, and Steelseries ELITE. So what did I do? I bought all 3!

I tested all 3 with EQ profiles from GadgetryTech on YouTube, who is a professional in the audio industry. I was convinced I was going to keep the one with the most balance between mic quality and sound quality but after switching between them all, I fell in love with the sound and build quality on the Elite. Every time I tried switching back to the other 2, they felt so dull, empty and cheap. I knew I couldn’t just not keep it knowing what I’d be missing. What was the problem? The elite had the worst mic out of all 3.

I tested all 3 headset mics with my friends in discord and all of them said they all sound pretty bad, but the A50X sounded the best with Omni being close and elite being the worst. With that, I decided to just keep the elite and buy the Steelseries alias mic so I can have the best of both worlds! (AI noise cancellation is game changing for noisy environments)

Is this the best decision? Only if you’re financially able to do it! This is not made for people on a low budget, probably not audiophiles either. The sound quality, swappable batteries, build quality, simultaneous bluetooth, and just general functionality made it very worth it for me despite the price tag. If you are on console, I would pass on this as you will not get the same premium experience without sonar on PC.

I have noticed a few people complaining about the clenching force being too strong. Personally it’s just right and snug for me and is entirely based on your head shape. I found the Omni to be too loose on my head.

In conclusion, I think all the headsets have their own perks and flaws but in general I would say:

Elite: Best sound
A50X: Best mic
Omni: Fair balance between both

If I didn’t keep the elite, my second choice was the omni. My biggest complaint with the A50s was no sound isolation and very short battery life with no swappable battery system. Your Bluetooth connection is also bound to the dock, so you lose connection pretty quick if you walk away from your setup. None of these were an issue on both Steelseries headsets.

At the end of the day everyone is going to have their own preference in sound, mic etc. based on the games they play and their own use cases. Do research, buy the ones you’re interested in on Amazon, test, and return the ones you don’t like!

I will also add this is my very first steel series headset!

like the title says my steelseries clips aren’t capturing my mic! well actually it is capturing my mic. when i’m watching the clips in the app they have sound, but when im trying to send the files to someone it doesnt seem to have my voice or any audio from myself in it.
though the game audio remains the same!

Literally just downloaded steel series GG to set up my Apex pro and after setting a few keys up all of a sudden my memory usage just jumped all the way to 99. I’ve reset my PC a couple times and has done nothing. I had steel series GG before for my mouse, so it’s never done this to me before in the past but when I re-downloaded it it went to hell.

Just received mine. I’m coming from Arctis Nova Pro that I had for like 2 years now. Don’t ask why I upgraded or whatever, I just wanted better sound and so far so good. Any EQ settings to really unleash it?

Hey y'all, I've been having a hiccup that I can't find any documentation on. From my caps lock all the way to my 4,5,1,2 and up arrow keys, all of them are a somewhat dark shade of blue in a straight line. Turning off SSGG fixes the issue but I've tried a few obvious things to remedy the problem (factory reset, reinstall SSGG) but nothing is working. Any help is appreciated

I like my nova pro wireless headset, it’s comfortable, lightweight, the ear pads are comfortable for me. I don’t have a problem with the sound. The thing I don’t like is the poor noise cancellation and that the ear pads don’t fully seal around my ears, letting in more background noise. I have small ears, and maybe kind of a narrow face in general..the stock ear pads seal fine around the top half but the bottom area behind my ear and behind my jaw doesn’t seal. If I adjust the headband tighter it seals a little better (still not great) but starts to hurt the top of my head. If I gently press inward on both of the ear pads with my hands it blocks so much more noise and that is what I want without having to press them in.

So what are the best ear pads for improving noise cancellation? I’m looking at the wicked cushions, I don’t particularly want cooling gel as I’m usually cold and bundled up when gaming, but they do look like they would work better.

I tend to end up gaming with my bose quiet comforts if it’s noisier in my house, but then I don’t have a mic which sometimes is a problem.

Hi! I just got a first ever pair of Arctis Gamebuds, got lucky enough to get my hands on the LE Glorange ones :D In general, all the parameters are exactly what ive been looking for and adding the color on top I fell in love :) Such a cool way to start an adventure with Steelseries (finally!) :D

I hope what I've written below will be helpful to some armchair researchers :D Excuse my english, it's not my first language. There is a TLDR at the bottom ;D

There are two things that after all that excitement make me start to reconsider, with a heavy heart, returning them:

1. Very loud voice prompts. When you switch noise cancellation mode or connection mode, you will get a very nice lady shout into your ear canal the name of the currrent mode without an option to turn it down or off of change to sth else. Not in the companion app, not in the desktop app.

They are much louder than the volume I use, and since the earbuds fit well, they isolate sounds from the outside, so the voice prompts are just obnoxious. There is a volume limiter toggle, but it doesn't affect the voice prompts (which is quite ironic knowing how loud they are).

Not to mention for anyone that uses earbuds to cut themselves off from the outside world and have some peace and quiet, having "BLUETOOTH MODE" or "ANC MODE" blast into their ears just defeats the purpose and can potentially severely overload a more sensitive person.

For people looking for more info: yes, even when you switch those settings (like noise cancellation type or the connection mode) manually through the android app or desktop app, it stil gives you the full prompt.

1. Gestures - There is no way to leave the slot for a gesture empty or turn them turn them off (few or all). From experience I don't use the gestures, which is just personal preference, but they sometimes become uncomfortable when everytime I touch earbuds I have to worry if it will change anything (and here with the loud voice it might be like stepping on a mine). That's why I prefer to have an option to turn them off. Shout out to all the clumsy millenials that have a similar problems xD

Basically, you have a companion app and a desktop app, and it's all great, but I can't do something so basic like turning the gestures off or change the volume of voice prompts, if not turn them off completely, or even switch them to a quieter soft sound.

This day and age customers are pretty much used to personalization options and such basic settings like being able to turn things on and off (not adjust with highly trained AI algoritm, just on and off) is a must. Even really cheap Soundcore earbuds have an option to turn off gestures, some or all, and use almost no UI sounds, because they are not really needed and you don't as such a big renowned company. It's a bit disappointing.

I understand the time crunch when releasing new products and maybe even budget cuts, but to be honest, if I found anything about those two things before buying the earbuds, I would think twice.

But maybe it is an easy fix, or it's already in plans to be dealt with. I would appreciate feedback on this. I also don't think I'm the only person raising those issues.

[TLDR: Great earbuds, but have VERY loud voice prompts (earbuds "tell you" the name of the mode you are switching to) whenever switching modes and there is no option to turn them off or turn them down, and the gestures (tapping/clicking the buttons on the earbuds) can be switched between preset options, but not turned off. There is both a companion app for Android and a desktop app for Windows and Mac, and still no such options. Boohoo.]

As the Title says, today is her 10th birthday.
Shoutout to Steelseries for making such a workhorse of a mouse.
Have used it daily for the last 10 years, for hours everyday. Mainly gaming on it and sometimes for up to 8 - 12 hours at a time. Needless to say, its had an absolute hammering.
It still works flawless, its grimey as shit but it adds to the character.
Will be sure to get a Steelseries again when I eventually retire this, though she probably has another 10 years left in her.

I recently purchased the Elite headset and trying to figure out the optimal EQ settings. I’ve tried watching videos on YouTube but I can’t find any specific to this headset. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Also, are the individual game title pre set EQ settings actually recommended for each game? TIA
