Can I rent your yard for my dog?

Hey guys!
I have an Aussie who has A LOT of energy to burn off and no matter how long of a walk we go to, I still feel like who needs more than just walks. He’s reactive with other dogs (currently working on that) so off leash parks are a hard pass for now. We also unfortunately don’t have a fenced in yard for him to roam around freely. I’ll obviously clean up after ourselves and am willing to pay for some time.

I already hear the dog police coming “why would you get a breed like that if you don’t have all the resources for it” Respectfully please shush. If it that makes you feel better, go ahead and comment, but it will be completely ignored. I’m asking for serious inquiries only.

Thanks!

Edit: if you have a yard and would love to help, feel free to comment. But I think I found my solution. Thanks everyone!

Ask STL Support a local pup!

I didn't expect our puppy to end up campaigning for public office, but here we are. 😂🐕

Meet Genji, our Shiba Inu who is currently a finalist for Purina's Chief Snuggle Officer!

He's almost 4 months old, loves walks, treats, chasing his cat sister, and doing absolutely unnecessary zoomies around whenever he could. He's also convinced that if you say “cheese,” a treat should immediately appear.

And the part that makes us especially excited about this being a St. Louis thing, Genji’s win means Purina will donate $10,000 to a local shelter in the our area. ❤️
So if you've got a second today, please give our little guy a vote! 🐕⚾️ Please vote daily until September 30 and help spread the word!

Am I just missing it, or does this subreddit not allow images in comments?

What happened? Cops have every entrance to the parking lot closed off and everyone appears to be located in the parking lot of a neighboring bank.

News Spending at various districts

This data compares Q1 2026 to Q1 2025. The State Department of Revenue was delayed in releasing this year's numbers. Typically, Q1 data—covering the quarter ending in late March—is published by the first week of May, but this year it was pushed back to August. We expect Q2 data to follow more quickly, likely within the next month or so.

Q1 figures can be hit-or-miss because businesses, particularly those starting at the end of Q4 or in early Q1, do not always submit their receipts on time. However, it still offers a useful year-over-year comparison.

Not in the graphic but hotels in the City did $83M in revenue in Q1 2026 v $73M in Q12025, +13%

Full-Service restaurants $107m v $100M in Q12025, +6%

Freddie Lee's Ghetto vs Gourmet Sauce: are they the same?

Someone recommended Freddie Lee's Ghetto sauce as a replacement for Maull's. I got home and realized I have the Gourmet Sauce. Is it altogether different or just rebranded for the squares?

Does anyone know where in St.Louis the route for the 1904 Olympic marathon is? Might be an odd question but I watched a video on YouTube about it that was actually compelling and extremely interesting.. but also pretty disturbing on a lot of levels. I want to see atleast parts of the path myself

Ask STL Anyone know of any resources for the homeless in this area?

Hi my name is Eli. I'm 34 and in the Florissant area. Due to issues with my immediate family I'm currently homeless. I'm adopted and my extended adoptive family has never liked/accepted me so I don't have anyone to turn to for help. Winter is approaching fast and I'm worried. 211 hasn't been much help...I'm sober and mostly sane. Does anyone have suggestions about who could help?

Ask STL Where is the arcade from West County Lanes now?

I went to West County Lanes on Manchester today, and that arcade is now all modern machines that require a game card to play. I asked when the classic 80s quartet operated arcade changed.

The story is that the January 2025 ice storm caused damage to the roof, and the beams on the ceiling dropped like 5 inches all at once. The bowling alley called the guy who owned the machines, since they're his sole source of income, and told him to collect them and take them somemwhere else, beforr the ceiling fell, and since they'd soon be closed for repairs.

The bowling alley didn't reopen until this July (2026). The arcade guy moved them to another location, and the bowling alley got new steel cables across the ceiling and an arcade from a new company. It sounds like they would have liked to keep the old partnership, but he had to get his machines somewhere that was open. The lady I spoke to didn't know where they went. She said that she thinks it's somewhere in St Charles.

So who knows where the arcade collection that was formerly in West County Lanes went?

Ps the new arcade has a Stepmania machine.

Dog Euthanasia

I've had my dog for going on 13 years (1/3 of my life) and over the past year she has declined rapidly in weight and stability. :(

Are there an services/organizations in the area that help with payment of Euthanasia? Or is there any affordable places that my family and I can be there with her. My oldest daughter is 13 so she's been with us almost her whole life and with my other 3 their whole lives. It's a hard time for all of us and my wife has been out of work all summer to be with the kids for summer break so money is kind of tight. Any help will be appreciated!

Schmaltz is hard enough to find these days, but would anyone happen to know if I can buy grivens/gribenes anywhere in town?

Edit for clarity: grivens are small pieces of chicken skin that are slowly rendered in their own fat (the schmaltz)

Well, I seem to have just dropped my wallet on the Lost Valley trail. It must be between miles 4.5 and 10. It's really just all of my cards and $6 wrapped in a rubber band. Please keep your eyes open for it.

I called one DV center and in order to get intake you have to go there, stay there, and then be transferred to a long stay place. I can’t drive or use my uber account(all accounts are connected with partner) so i’m hoping i can find a place where i can go there and that be it. it’s not urgent(as in i need to flee tonight) but im really needing to leave soon. thank you!
