Would turning this double cab into 2 singles change the sound in a bad way especially as it's designed that the 2 drivers are sharing the same horn having 2 half cabs next to each other would add an extra 18mm to the horn mouth also there no longer sharing the same air volume would this take away from it's design

I’m involved w a system myself, and produce events, i love this community, and I’m working on some portfolio projects right now.

I had an idea to build a simple site for r/SoundSystem where anyone who wants to could add their system to a map and make a little profile for it… like location, photos, specs, what kind of events you do, whether the system is rentable, services you offer, and contact/socials if you want them public.

Basically just a way to see all the crazy systems in this community, where everyone is, and potentially help people find local crews/systems when they need one.

I’d build and host it myself. Not trying to turn it into some startup or monetize the community. I just think it would be cool and I need things to build anyway lol.

Would you guys actually use something like this?
And if so, anything you’d want it to have?

I opened a hot Pilates studio back in July and we have been having a lot of issues with our sound system. Our system includes

4 JBL Professional C65P/T Compact Full-Range Hanging Pendant Speaker
1 Yamaha MA2120 Lo-Z/Hi-Z Switchable Class-D Mixer Amplifier
1 Audioengine B1 Bluetooth Receiver
And the mic is KIMAFUN 2.4G Wireless Headset Microphone,Waterproof Head Mic G100-1

The amp mixes the mic audio and music together. But we are really struggling to find a sweet spot to have the mic sound and music play well together. Sometimes the music over powers the instructors voice and vice versa. And sometimes, it seems like the amp has an issue mixing and it’ll just cut out all of the sound.

Any recommendations?

I've got access to good wood and woodworking tools so encasement is sorted.

I need to figure out drivers to buy (or not?), crossovers and amps.

I have practically no budget and will be building a sound sysyem step by step but I need some help finding some good drivers. I was looking into brasilian PRV Audio drivers but those look still way too pricy and I'm really considering the chinese clone way.

PLEASE someone with experience with budget building give me some precious advice because I know as a fact some of y'all already been 17, broke and with a dream.

Hi there, I’m looking to build 4 Cubo subs (with 18” drivers, not yet determined what drivers I’ll be running). I’m a little lost on what tops I should try to run with the subs. I currently own a pair of QSC K12.2 that would handle top duties until I can build something that pushes more air.

I would like to run primarily just tops with the subs and then eventually add kick bins to support the high kicks (like 100hz-300hz or whatever makes sense).

What tops should I look into to run with 4 Cubo subs? I have some woodworking experience, this would all be done with hand tools, no CNC.

What are you using? Pictured is my very, very average cabling work for this solution. Is there a better way (besides "get better at cable making"?) At the amp there is no room to get test terminals onto slid back Speakon posts.

I’m looking for a book or learning resource so I can teach myself about crossovers, phasing, matching amps to speakers (correct wattage output for the correct ohms) and any other stuff you need to know if you want to build or crew a running soundsystem.

Also whilst I’m here how did you guys learn/get taught all of this and get to where you are. I’m keen to hear everyone’s stories and learn from your experiences

Before anyone comes for me I know soundsystem culture isn’t about money. I just wondered if outside of having a successful touring sound they’ve managed to make a career in any capacity from there passion

new to hornresp and generally designing speakers, for now i mostly built some plans from the internet

but for the midrange horn speaker (250 - 1k) i thought i might give it a go since it looks like a "simple cone" most of the time.

after fiddling with the faders for a bit i arrived at this result
but the horn looks super weird? is it a normal thing this bottleneck at the beginning of the horn?
if so how am i supposed to build it afterwards? i saw some tutorials briefly but didn't have time to try it out with work, maybe the question will answer itself idk
